The 7th house is the house of one-on-one relationships and partnerships. The focus is less on the self and more on the partner.

With Pluto, the planet of intensity and destruction-for-resurrection here, relationships can take on that tone. People with this placement will give their all in relationships and, expect the same. So, one should choose partners carefully. Also, the plutonic themes of burning bridges in order to rebuild might be the way this person plays out their relationships.

From my notes (lifted off of some website, lol):
There's a lot of unconscious energy here, and you may need to learn to compromise and to not dominate your partner so much. On the other hand, you may need to become more aware of your partner trying to dominate or to control you; it can work both ways.

I don't think this placement is as common as others

Okay, here's how I think Pluto energy shows itself (keeping in mind that it's the co-ruler of Scorpio):
It (subconsciously or not), destroys in order to create again. The burning down of something to the atom, to reconstruct and thus generate deeper bonds. Now, this in a relationship house means Plutonic energy is used a tool for relating with the other person. After a great battle, you may feel that it's brought you closer to your loved one - while they may or may not feel the same (depending on how Plutonic they are).

As for how to stop ... Not sure what to say about that, except awareness is an important step. If one is aware of such tendencies, it's easier to nip them in the bud.

yeah i do feel closer after having nasty arguments, its like I feel calm after releasing everything. I've only been with venus in scorpio people and people who are fairly plutonic so I think thats why they take it. I always thought there was something psychologically ****** up with people who deal with me because I have caught myself being emotionally abusive/manipulative before without realizing it.
edit: but it brings us closer though its not healthy

Prolly asteroids fit in here, too. There are NUMEROUS reasons for these things. Many asteroids show us Themes in the lives of people.

For example, Sedna is extreme betrayal by men, beginning with the father.

Hence, if we find an asteroid conjunct a pivotal part of the chart, the person has that life Theme.

The pivotal part of the chart would include the ASC, MC, Sun, Moon, Venus, Mars etc

Yeah, I see... But don't get too bogged down by this one aspect. Zoom out and take a look at the rest of your chart, along with this. All the little pieces will form a more coherent picture.

Also, some things we just learn better expressions for in time. As in, the energies that are expressed solely negatively (for instance, let's say this Plutonic energy) - eventually you'll find new and better ways of expressing it/them. Make sense?

Thirdly, (personally), I don't think this is something you need to 'change' about yourself. We are what we are, and we shouldn't judge ourselves too harshly. Everyone has a dark side. Good, bad, ugly, it's all part of the parcel. Embrace it.
