Hey Venustinkerbell! Thanks for sharing! I wanted to ask do you have 4 children? I noticed you said had 2 Leo moons and the boys think they are rambunctious hah..sounds like something a Cappy moon would say of fire signs haha. Also I've never done a tropical chart so maybe ill check that out. Interesting you say your mother was spoiling you rotten.. i gotta ask is there a big difference between this tropical chart to a placidus chart?. Because from Aries to Taurus is a big leap of emotions.. & for DancingMaenad This is not supposed to be a sad thread... just one dedicated to mothers via your moon sign. I'm curious to see how heavily your moon/mother effected your upbringing and present life is all. The pros and cons of a any sign but this is the biggest deal as it shapes your emotions for better or worse. Sorry to hear about your mother's passing though. ------------------ here's a little agit for the never believer IP: Logged |

My Moon has a 0 degree opposition to Neptune and a 2 degree square to the Sun. Scorpio Pluto is trine it 2 degrees. Jupiter and Mars are also in an Opposition to the Moon.My Mother was always very foreign to me and at the same time very intimate. I was strongly attuned to her moods, which were often very violent. She could shout and cry for hours and used to beat me often. Also she was extremely paranoid and fearful about anything. When my little brother was born with severe Autism, she turned away from me to care for him. Neptune probably reflects that ungraspable experience. My brother's Sun is conjunct my Moon. And Moon is the Ruler of my DC. Yay. Relationships remain a catastrophe... Interesting thing through: The axis overlaying with my mother. My brother also has the same ASC. Any experience with parent/child composites? Do they reflect some basic themes with your parents?

Hi midnightcatqueen (love it)My eldest is a Cap Moon I was thinking about the career woman image of the mother of a Cap Moon.. I was most settled in as a homemaker during my Cap Moon's early years, but I often referred to my home as an enterprise requiring good management, I can see that Cap ambition applied to my endeavors back then. I'm remembering lots of morning and afternoon walks and reading with my Cap. We didn't do play dates, and I can't remember him having a single friend. Good thing his siblings came soon after. He was like a baby old man, who mimicked mine and his father's style of communication when he talked.
He and I have a wonderful relationship; which requires a lot of forgiveness from him I think... We have a great relationship. He is an advisor to me, and an authority in our family. Both his father and I pay close attention when he shares an opinion...but we have to be careful not to put too much pressure and responsibility on him, because Cap Moon will carry whatever you give them to carry, if they love you. They'll do it even if the burden is too much.. This may be one thing mothers of Cap Moons don't realize right away. Aanywaay, there's him, then a Sag Moon Pisces Sun, gets along with everyone. Aqua Moon Virgo Sun, he's a mix of energy. He would like to live like the Leos, and he does. Sometimes he does it bigger and better if he feels the time and space permit loud, rambunctious behavior. But if you ask him how things should be his values align with the Cap Moon. So you'll find the Cap Moon and the Aqua Moon on one side of the fence, the Leos on the other, and the Sag (Pisces Sun) in the middle. The Sag is your best bet for getting balanced justice, if you can get him to speak up I see myself or situation or a characteristic in all if their moons. The distance between Cap and Leo is most striking for me. IP: Logged |

Wow my oldest son was the same way. Also, with his upbringing, we were very religious back then, he had such a strict little toddlerhood. I used to read him Mennonite storybooks, even though, we weren't Mennonite. They just put out a lot of good, sound literature. I think because the Mennonites aren't distracted by technology and pop culture, their minds are sensible and uncluttered. Too bad I just cannot get with the theology anymore, no matter how much explaining I would do, it doesn't erase the core message, which I dislike. My second Cap moon son has a Cap ASC as well...he was born just as my father began dying, so he spent a lot of time in hospitals and rehab centers...Verrrry interesting how much his chart mirrors my father's, including a tight sun-sun conjunction, and he almost choked to death on a mint at my father's viewing. A mint that the undertaker had laid out on a low table (why?) and I hadn't seen, because I was in the other room. Well my husband was watching him but looked away for a few minutes, then had to save his life. Once I began studying astrology, a few years later, this whole story just reflected the charts so astoundingly well. ETA: This son's ^^ Saturn is conjunct my Saturn...he has moon-Saturn in mutual reception...and his early years reflect my Saturn Return. Anyway, I loved reading your stories. IP: Logged |

I'm sorry. I'm crossing over from western astrology to vedic astrology, and doing my best not to drag people into some unresolved issues (lol) which usually means not commenting at all, but I've been thinking about your topic for so long (even had a subject heading picked out: Mommy Moon ) I couldn't help but chime in. See, my western chart gives me a Taurus Moon. Vedic astrology moves my moon back 13 degrees into Aries. And you're right. Although I was fascinated with vedic, that moon change from Taurus to Aries was something I couldn't wrap my brain around and so I could go no further in vedic...then I discovered Nakshatras and Padas on Vedic, giving deeper meaning and explanation for the placement of my moon in Aries. I now feel that Aries better describes my moon than Taurus (though there is some Venusian energy in that Aries Moon placement). I just still kind of attached to seeing my mother in my Taurus Moon. I guess if I dug a little deeper id see her in my Aries Moon also. I haven't confused you have I? Yes, she spoiled and continues to spoil me rotten, which ironically creates some of the same interpersonal challenges people who were neglected have. Some children reflect our fears so well and we overreact and push them away or smother them. IP: Logged |

Oh! But you edited out your eldest son's quote on page one! I was gonna tell you how much that sounds like my eldest. Lol @ strict little toddlerhood. And the Mennonite books! I was the same way. IP: Logged |

@thegrinning_catWow, a picture says a thousand words...just your mother's moon-Mars-Uranus in Cancer, on your Gemini moon, looks pretty hard to deal with. :-/ You being more rational, and she being....as you described. quote: Any experience with parent/child composites? Hmm...good question. I don't have my mother's birth time but I can see some things. Composite BML is conjunct my moon. Then, we have a yod in composite:6 Virgo Pluto 4 Scorpio sun 5 Aries Mars With Mars conjunct my BML. Composite Saturn 15 Gemini, conjunct my Mars Composite Uranus 14 Leo Converted into another yod with my 15 Cap sun Not sure what the say about that, except no wonder I'm crazy... IP: Logged |

Hehehe.... My oldest son did not really talk until he was older, like almost three. We actually took him to the doctor, at the suggestion of some friends who feared he was slow, even though he seemed to have an infinite attention span (Scorpio Mercury) and intelligent behavior. When he finally started talking, it was like, in full paragraphs, very formal. In his quietude he had actually been memorizing the long cowboy poems we played on cassette tapes for him, also memorizing Beatrix Potter books, and things like that. Then friends were saying, you should get him tested, he's a prodigy! LOL Did you read Little Jewel Books to your kids??

Wow! This is so fascinating I'm at a loss for words! This is the kind of thing I like to try and explain to myself in a spiritual context, just to see how free and flexible my mind and heart are. IP: Logged |

Lol! My son was also slow to talk! I had a dream that he was a talking infant* so I didn't worry when he was about 3-4, reading, but VERY difficult to understand. Like talking gibberish, lol. And just like you said, when he did start talking it was with this ridiculous vocabulary that would make people do a double take. And as he got older he just naturally and independently leaned toward the classics in lit. (when I say naturally I mean it. I fantasize about reading, but I don't), philosophy, history, ethics, etc...anything requiring him to share his position on an issue and explore the positions of others. Scorp Merc also... eta: *to me the dream meant that he was a small person with big ideas to communicate. You know, I can't say if I did or didn't read Little Jewels Books. I'm not sure. IP: Logged |

VERY free and flexible, I know...but sometimes astrology kinda does all the "talking" and there's nothing to say but things like "wow" and "holy $hit!" edits overtalking IP: Logged |
