Just wondering what people think the maximum orb is for each individual body? I know the Sun is around 10, and Sirius is around 6. I have Jupiter and Pluto at 29 Scorpio, then Mercury at 8 Sagittarius, would you say they are conjunct? Some sites like astrotheme say they are, but others say they're not. I can relate to them being conjunct ... <3 <3

If you genuinely believe you can relate to the conjunction, where is the question? Isn't that the answer right there? I know we tend to get stuck into the idea that there always has to be some kind of easy-set linear answers to these questions, but it isn't always that simple. If you feel the conjunction, then it's there. The only problem there is if you are doubtful in your own feelings. IP: Logged |

I have mercury parallel pluto. I would not be surprise if you do too if you are feeling that conjunction. Check.

Only 0°45' to 1° orbs for fixed star aspects. Astrologers commonly stretch orbs to inappropriate lengths in longitude aspects because they are not looking at the planets/points' declination position. Often the active relevant aspect is not in longitude but is a parallel or contra-parallel of declination. Mystic_Cat, In your chart Sirius at 16S43 declination is Parallel Moon at 16S52. That is the aspect of most direct contact by Sirius to any point in your birth chart. For planets the concept is 'moeity of orbs', that is the median orb between the two bodies involved in the aspect. But when a planet or object is very far away it narrows considerably. Widest orbs for Sun and Moon, up to 12° (longitude). Orbs narrow as the planet increases in distance from earth/sun, exceptions being with Jupiter (7-8° orbs) because of its size, and ending at Pluto at around 5°. quote:

No, they are not, at least partly because it is a separating aspect and Mercury, the relevant body here, has moved to near 10° from them. Mercury at 22S11 in your chart is Parallel Sun [22S25] & Uranus [21S48]. ------------------ The Declinations Guy Modern professional astrology & rectification IP: Logged |

You would say 1 degree orbs for stars like Sirius and Regulus? I disagree with that, Sirius is the sun of suns and the centre of our universe's community and Regulus is the closest star to the ecliptic, and also strongly connected to the Sun ... ------------------ Oneness of the Universe. Orbs are determined mostly by the nearness of the planet/body to earth, and by its apparent disc. No fixed star functions with such wider orbs as we give to planet in our own solar system, but not even to asteroids.------------------ The Declinations Guy Modern professional astrology & rectification IP: Logged |
