So I've wondered if I should be planning things according to the daily transits.

Somehow I've felt like that would be crafty, or even witchcrafty. I don't want to do things just because I know transiting Jupiter will be on the transiting ASC at that moment, or whatever. I like for things to unfold more according to natural impulse than calculation.

But sometimes, I think -- Why not? It would be an interesting experiment, at the very least. Maybe I would get better results if I did things according to timing.

For instance...I need to make a phone call that may be difficult for me (I'm phone shy.) A little while ago, I felt a shift, and wanted to make the call. Usually I don't make charts for every little thing, but I was in the mood to see what this was about.

As it turns out: the transiting moon was on the transiting MC, conjunct my natal Mercury within one degree.

If I had known that was coming, and it would affect me like that, I would have planned to make use of the feeling, but I was in the middle of other things, and the opportunity passed. (By the way, I'm not THAT phone shy, the call will be made, just not as comfortably, perhaps.)

This thread is to ask:

1) Do you ever plan to do certain things at certain times, because you know the planetary energies will be conducive to success, or supportive of your intentions, at that time?

2) Do you have any interesting stories to tell about successes you've had, with that technique? Or, do you have a handy method to recommend to others, about how to pinpoint the best times to do certain things?

3) Do you think this sounds too contrived and/or demonic, and you want to complain that I made this thread?

I don't plan according to transits, no. But I regularly see things play out according to them, in hindsight (like you?).

I've thought about this before. "Planning", "calculating"... Something seems kind of "off" about it. Like taking away the natural, organic, "fateful" side of life. Like I am playing God..? I have a problem with that; although it's definitely an interesting/intriguing prospect and might actually give good results.

What I have noticed, is that regardless of transits, I have little choice in some matters, or so it seems. Sometimes I want to do X at a given moment, but something gets in the way and I can't, even if the transits suggested a positive outcome, for example.

There was a time when I wanted to "strategically choose" a first meeting chart, according to the hour of the meeting, to influence its course... And that didn't work, because influences outside of my control changed the hour/chart. There was an unaspected Sun, which eventually turned out to be potent - the relationship lacked direction and disintegrated pretty quickly.

All this to say... While you can try to influence, control, plan and choose certain things, there seems to be a "higher power" in the universe that won't just let you get away with it every time. Like some things are just "meant" to happen without your own accord...

But those are my thoughts for now. Prone to change.

Yes and I LOVE that, I love yielding to a Higher Purpose...stranger, better things than I would ever think possible could come from any given moment. And so, I like anticipating surprises.

Plus, tracking how the transit chart will move throughout the day just seems arduous, or for smarter people than me, at this point.

All the same, a little "magic" now and then?

This topic is easy enough for me. And my answer is pretty simple.

I have noticed that as my focus shifts from a more spiritual focus on being to a more material focus on creating , I find myself reaching for my hand tools. Instead of observe and reflect, I want to manipulate and mold, and I use transits as one of my sculpting tools. <<< eta: I had to Gem Venus it up a little more.

Kind of like planting with the phases of the moon.

Yes, Abundance. If you natality or with a transit have a opportunity to have success, why not use it. Knowledge alone doesn't build you a house.

Abundance isn't about just winning money, the most I've won is $100. It's about having "it" when you need it and knowings it coming.

A recent example ... my kids (and Husband!) wanted a video game system. We googled the cost of new ones and both agree that we didn't want to pay that much (very important: it's not that we said or thought, we couldn't afford to pay for new because that's reinforcing lack) so we went to the used for sale website a and at first found nothing in our willing to pay price range. The next morning, we looked again and there was a guy selling 2 different systems (with games) for the price we were willing to pay for one!!!

We haven't sold the 2nd system yet but we will so that's $$$ and the money we saved is $$$ and that's the universe being abundant.

Mostly, I try to use the strengths of my chart, and look out for my weaknesses. I use what I've been given to try to make it work for me. With my Virgo, I analyze, research, and plan before I make a move.

One time I bought a car without ever seeing one in person. I researched the crap out of it. Then I said, "This is the color that I want, these options. Get one here."
It turned out that I loved that car! It wasn't exactly reliable but realibility wasn't something that I was very concerned about at the time. So it all worked out.

With my Virgo 12th, do my research on things and/or listen to my gut. The impulsive parts of my chart I really need to keep in check. I can be REALLY impulsive and it's usually trouble.

That's been my strategy as well. Trusting my gut over any calculations I'd make...because the gut takes in all kinds of information from what's out there...while a calculation narrows things down to a small mental picture.

Still...I'm curious. How would my life change if I decided to do things on the new moon, or when the tr ASC will be conjunct my sun, or whatever?

Was there a corresponding shift in something astrological? Did the transiting moon land on your 2H Jupiter or something?

I doubled checked with my husband and it was last Sunday afternoon (2-3pm) when looked. I never checked the astrology, checking now I see the transit moon was at 28'07 of 5H Libra opposite my natal Moon and Chiron in the 11H.

AC Rising ...
I have Jupiter in 11H Taurus making a Trine to Venus in 7H Cap. Transiting Jupiter in Virgo is giving me a Grand Earth Trine.

Sun Sign ...
Capricorn is my 2H
Taurus is my 6H
Virgo is my 10H

If I'm given two options, time-wise, for a meeting/consultation, etc. I'll sometimes cast a chart and choose the one I like best for the purposes. I kind of read electional charts as I would horary... I'm far from expert in either but I like to make sure that neither the ruler of the 1st or 7th is heavily afflicted... and that my general purposes will be well served. Of course we can't time everything perfectly but the difference an hour makes is not negligible.

Usually flowing aspects from tr venus make me feel good, I can detect a shift in my moods. I feel more willing to entertain and humor and tolerate. So it's especially good for dealing or connecting with other people. Some people are difficult and I'm short-fused by nature, so I try to arrange first meetings during these nice transits. I pay attention to transits making aspects to my moon too, nothing too rough on my moon, tr mars making harsh aspects to moon is a no-no.

They tend to make me overly confident and overly excited though. So I gotta be careful when making decisions. Once I got a set of green nails, with fancy little sparkly studs and yellow drawings. Idk, it seemed like a good idea at the time. The effect was quite garish and the memory of it shall forever haunt me in my sleep. I tried to think that it was a depiction of sunny blooms on a field of green grass, and the little studs were dew drops.

Jupiter transits ime can bring a fair bit of good fortune too.

I can usually tell when Venus is aspecting a personal planet, or Saturn or Mars is playing nicely with something in my chart. Or when the moon shifts to a different sign. I don't know what it is today, but my mood has been off again most of the weekend, after having a mostly good week.

It predicted that I was going to suffer for this one (well in so many words, it said, brace yourself!)

Lo and behold, that evening, my husband got upset with me over nothing and stormed out. I pulled up a chart for that moment and the dreaded transit was EXACT. So I'm sitting there just laughing and waiting for him to come back...he did, a few moments later, and said, "I'm so sorry, I don't even know what got into me..."

But I was practically clapping, I wanted to say, "It worked!!! The Universe's booby trap on me actually worked!! Just like they said!"

Astrology makes me a serious weirdo.

Just wanted to say, I just got a new email address and joined a yahoo group that WILL affect my destiny. I pulled up a chart for when everything was all set....turns out the new moon is at the top of the chart, in the 10th house, squaring Mars on the DSC, which happens to be conjunct my NN.

ASC conjunct my SN exact.

Recipe, or "spell," for disaster?? I don't know. We'll see....

Also I just realized today was my lunar Return and that on a New Moon! lol
Just with 2 degree orb.
So the influence should hold for the next month. Well I`ve had a lazy but productive day, very very relaxed, very windy and rainy outside the window (inside would be worrisome. lol).

Same email address, I needed a new one for yahoo so I could get my group mail sent to gmail (they wouldn't let me change my outdated email addresses from years ago.) And the group is just a local meet-up group, but I tend to get really involved in whatever group I join, so I expect it will branch off into numerous activities, commitments, etc.

I'd love to see the chart for when you joined here! I don't know when I joined...I think my first post was in Know Two Are Alike, I'll have to scare it up. (I know what I said...that everyone was going to know me eventually, because I talk A LOT )
