even my friend from Sweden has Vertex in 6th house.
(and she has wildly distorted houses because her ASC is on 14 Cancer and her IC is on 11 Leo)

The link in the OP just takes me to a chart.

Thank you for the article. I'm just bracing myself (my moon @ 18 Pisces, in the 8H.)

I'd rather not even think about it as it makes me a bit fearful.

I read this a while back:

quote:
The vertex of a horoscope is the westernmost point on the Ecliptic where it intersects the Prime Vertical. Because the Descendant, the principal west point in a chart, is set by a Great Circle passing through the visible horizon as well as the Midheaven and Imum Coeli; the vertex and descendant are two different points. The vertex has been likened to a second descendant in the chart, however.

In most charts the Vertex lies on the western side, i.e. in the houses near the descendant. In tropical latitudes with Ascendant near the equinoxes it can happen however that the ecliptic rises vertically into the sky and lies nearly parallel to the Prime Vertical. Both circles can then intersect near the zenith and nadir. In such charts Vertex appears close to the MC or IC, not western at all.

Yes, hypatia. I don’t think even those keenest of the vertex would be keen on a chart comparison where there are vertex contacts but little else.

We all have our ways of reading charts and of seeing what works and to be fair, my Vertex is conjunct my Mars (in Taurus); so impossible to view as a standalone. I also tend not to gravitate towards people with a lot of Taurus – except for somehow amassing many other friends with Mars in Taurus!!
Quindeciles are interesting. Noel Tyl certainly has done his marketing well… the jury’s out for me so far, but harmonically they make sense.

I’ll keep a look out for your conclusions I’m working on Quintiles myself ;-) Very very interesting in synastry

Hi Ceridwen – have never managed to read a book on astrology and certainly won’t manage now!! My learning style to read a little, apply it, test it, theorise it, think about it, come to a conclusion…then test it again ;-)

I just can’t quite take others’ research as valid enough. We create our reality after all, so it’s much more fun to do so and then speak from our own perspective.. {too much natal Uranus I know!!! Hahahah} I do acknowledge and look at composites though and entirely agree – I never look at the signs, just the aspects and houses. There is truth in a composite, it’s just that once dominance and division of tasks/traits occurs in a relationship I find they become increasingly invalidated. Mind you, most people getting to this point wouldn’t require a relationship reading… 

Thanks for the feedback Charlie – sorry I didn’t pick up that you’re married.

As for the soul searching – well, maybe that’s what this eclipse will be all about? It’s nice to have it fall opposite your Mars I would say, it should give a little climatic energy and like I say ~bring out that soft Pisces 7th House side of your nature. It will be interesting to see what happens…!!

Sorry Faith,

It looks like I copied and pasted the wrong link in there… Don’t be scared of the 8th House {have} Faith!! Try to embrace it – what the 8th bestows is a great intuitive, empathic and instinctive psychological understanding of others and of healing. That’s a great place for the Moon, granted Moon in Scorpio can get a bit stuck at times, but the 8th doesn’t have the fixidity of Scorpio and Moon in Pisces certainly doesn’t have!!

Does your Moon rule the 11th in your chart? If so we’ll be looking at changes in friendships, groups, possibly a consideration of getting involved in local community work/charity. Maybe helping people out with connective activities. It could be refining of friendships and walking away from those who you’ve outgrown, but it’s not about loss.

Want to know something that is kinda one of my secrets…? {The 8th House is to do with letting go, sure, and planets there will show *perception* of loss in childhood, often *actual* loss but death itself is the IC. It’s where we leave this world and it shows our understanding of our ancestry and the beginning and the end….great changes from physical to spirit are shown by the IC}

Thanks so much waxlobster,

('Love your screen name by the way! )

My chart is rectified rather precisely and well, but it's still "just" rectified. With this chart, my moon rules the 12H.

That's very interesting about the IC. It makes sense what you said about ancestry - several of my family members have planets conjunct my IC.

I'm trying to remain neutral about the eclipse, I don't fear death because no one I know is even close to dying...it would take a tremendous accident or heart attack out of nowhere. Seems unlikely.

I tend to get into a funk with every transiting moon in Pisces. My mood sinks pretty far. It's just something I have to cope with. I don't expect this transit will be any different (probably worse) but I always pull out of it, so....it's all good.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks Faith,

Glad you like the name, it's part random, mostly destined ;-)

Your downturn isn't destined though, it's fear driven, it's something that makes you feel out of control? I don't believe anything is inevitable however except change and a better, more effective relationship with ourselves.

Maybe meditate on it before the Moon reaches Pisces? Organise something watery...go swimming? Or to a spa? Maybe visit a healing circle or talk? Or get drunk with close people and cry? {rather than bury the feelings} but as Einstein said, "you can never solve a problem with the same mindset with which you created it."

He was a Pisces. Moon ruling 12th tells me that meditation is a MUST. {Although if I had it my way it would be taught to all teenagers as a life skill}

Wishing you a truly uplifting and unexpected JOYFUL time for this new Moon :-) x

Appreciated!

Those "dips" happen automatically...I don't really fear them, but when the moon is in Pisces, there's usually a few hours when my biochemistry seems off. As if I am clinically depressed. After checking the charts often enough, I see that the closer the transiting moon is to my moon, the worse I feel, typically. I mention it for curiosity's sake...not complaining.

I agree about meditation.

I have to say I don't personally read composites as charts in their own right, I have a little issue with the midpoints between two people being entirely accurate. For instance somebody with Sun-Mars in Aries making a midpoint with somebody with Mars in Cancer opposite Neptune. You can't imagine those two Mars' could ever meet halfway hey?

I use composites for a relationship glance though, they're nice but nothing as accurate as the personal charts and what each individual needs and looks for and brings.... Still if I had a Moon-Jupiter conjunction in the 4th with somebody, I'm sure I would happily look at it lots ;-)

blessings~~~~

Thanks .

Yes, I understand. I think even before looking at synastry we should have a look at the natals to have a look at what each person needs/wants/attracts/and so on. Sometimes the other person could complete a certain aspect in the other natal, mirror an aspect, etc.

I think overall he might be the most affected, because it's kinda close to his NN too (his NN conjuncts our Moon/Jupiter composite conjunction, though it could be considered a little bit wide, it depends), trines his Amor and Cupido.

The eclipse is in my 4th, trines my Saturn, sextiles my NN, but it doesn't do much more I think.

I feel this eclipse could be a push forward for us to go to the next level and it will come from a move from his part, don't you think? I can smell it and I can't wait for that.

Hi Sunnya,

North Node conjunction is good - so he's having a 'nodal opposition' at the moment then. It's not so much telling in itself as revealing in terms of what it throws up to be learned.

Node axis transits can be surprisingly interesting and transformative. I've not studied most of the fixed stars - have read about them and am happy for them to be used to embellish chart contacts but there's so much to look at planet-wise I've yet to properly study them.

{I do respect and refer to Kim Falconers website a great deal for info}

I love Kim Falconer.

And yes, it's quite interesting the nodal transit from what I observe, but I think other things perhaps have to be at play with the personal planets at same time to reinforce the transit.
In his case there is an irony in what concerns us because we come from way back in many past lives (if you believe in them), so there is this SN and NN balanced dynamic going on, something from the past has to continue now type of thing. But there are other areas in his life being influenced too.

But he is an Aqua. He can handle it lol.

But I digress and I don't want to derail your topic, so I will stop here.

True about what you said last. And when we start digging in Astrology, it just goes deeper and deeper! I love it. I can read for hours about these stuff.

Thanks a lot for your helpful insights! Keep writing, I like your blog .

Squaring my Sun in the 5th from the 8th. I already feel like I have died and been born again, and I'm really glad it's happening. ^-^ I am deeply in love and learning how to be intimate, and letting go of pretenses in my art and everything else. (as far as that can go, having a Leo rising and 5th house Sun/Mercury). It's really good.

On the day of the eclipse transit pluto will be sextiling exact solar eclipse and forming a Yod with my vertex conjunct valentine. Transit pluto will also be inconjunct my northnode sextile vertex conjunct valentine.

Should be an interesting year.

Thank you for your article, Waxlobster!... (My Ascendant is 11+ Sag, and those houses fit mine, except that my interception is between VirgoH(9)Leo and PiscesH(3)Aquarius

New Moon Total Solar Eclipse 18.55 Pisces
in my H(3)aqua (placidus,trop).

Conjunct my 1912 Anubis 18.44'38" Pisces H(3) and 4758 Hermitage 18.44'57" H(3).
http://markandrewholmes.com/anubis.html
http://www.pantheon.org/articles/a/anubis.html

Quote M.A.H... The meaning of asteroid Anubis, according to Henk Middleraad, is: change. J.Lee Lehman, in The Ultimate Asteroid Book, has the meaning of Anubis as "death" as a more-than-usually important thing.

Anubis is the ultimate Egyptian Dream God, 'Guide to the Underworld, with Sirius'
(ref. Robert Moss, Dreaming the Soul Back Home)

With asteroid Hermitage, the Webster Dictionary gives a definition of Hermitage as being a house or building that is away from other houses, buildings, people, etc.

"Community" is among the meanings of the astrological third-house. It is the influence of early-life circumstances on the development of our mental attitudes.
Also, the neighborhood, teachers through secondary school, early education and childhood environment.

This eclipse occurs Tuesday, March 7(or 8th UT), 2016.

March 7th is the anniversary of the "Death" of Sri Paramahansa Yogananda.
http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Yogananda%2C_Paramahansa

QUOTE: A lifelong celibate and mystic, Yogananda wrote that he burned the prophesies about his life written down by the family's astrologer because he did not want to be controlled by its prediction of marrying three times. Though his family pressed him to marry, his determination to follow the spiritual path was resolute.
He did not accept 'deterministic astrology' but pointed out that the most difficult times give rise to the greatest achievements.

On March 9, it will be the anniversary of "Death" of my Paternal Grandfather (0-1 Taurus) at age ~52(?) years old (a few months before my 8th Birthday).

The death of my grandfather was traumatic to my family-of-origin and the community of extendeds (cousins, etc H3). He was the "hub" of a very large family. {widow/widower formed marriage: 12 children each, to total 24 children (earlier 1900s, farms)}. He was especially handsome and very charismatic. Stories about his muscle body-strength that was legendary.

We had relocated a day's journey south right-before my grandfather was diagnosed with terminal illness. My father was the only son, and I could see now how that relocation would have had the opportunity to be viewed as an emotional abandonment and dereliction of duties by my dad to his grieving mom.

And now also, as an adult, I can see how fortuitous this move had been for my mom and dad's marriage... as there would have been an increased need for my dad to visit with his mother (bereavement). My mother was already angry over all the time he spent with her. My dad's move also cemented for him a higher paying position and new career.

{The childhood relocation shifted my chart from an early Aries/Libra IC/MC, to a late Pisces/Virgo IC/MC. 28.01'}

After the relocation, I felt a sense of the universal piscean 'lostness' (separation from the village of cousins and relatives). My parents were in mourning, and also energetically were the target of unreasonable hatred and blame 'for causing' the Death of PGF by leaving the core family circle. (People, families, have unique ways of grieving...)

More waves of physical "deaths" occurred after we left-- for the next year to year-and-half: death of PGF, my teacher, tragic death of well-renown beloved Pres. JFK {with whom I shared my birthday (it was extra impactive}), then (?)the governor of my relo-state.

My dad worked in the military, and there was great racial unrest (early to mid 60s and beyond). There were serious local race violence, riots in town, to which my father was called away to help quell (scary memories for me).

H3 also represents the community and 'hood where I live now.
tSouth-node and Chiron transiting my locale's IC/Pisces 21.41'.

(The Full Moon Libra Lunar Eclipse will be to my natal IC/Aries MC/Libra within a degree.)

Drop-heal past baggage of foundational/ic family wounds.
New beginnings with next phase of life, leaving behind pain of what-was and the psychological limitations and associations conditioned from my f.o.o.
AND reclaim healing for my body due to recent health-environmental issues and (building/house) problems which has stolen my attention, focus, and time...

Piscean video song. A Heart filled with Devotion.
