For me, it's a matter of themes, the same things come up over and over again, in tropical and draconic. Or they complement each other.

So, for instance, natally I have a Cap sun, Pisces moon. My natal Saturn is on the moon-Neptune midpoint.

My draconic moon is conjunct tropical Saturn.
My draconic Saturn is conjunct tropical Neptune.

My draconic sun in Taurus is widely conjunct my Taurus south node. My draconic sun's ruler Venus is exactly conjunct tropical Jupiter.

My draconic Pluto in Aquarius tightly squares my north node in Scorpio.

My natal Mars in Gemini is out of bounds, and my draconic Mercury in Gemini is tightly conjunct my natal Mars.

It all fits together like peas and carrots, in my case. So I sorta relate to both because they are the same, but different.

ETA: I'm Sag dominant in my tropical chart, and Sag rising in draconic.

I relate to my natal chart 100%. I don't feel like my draconic chart AT ALL.

My natal chart is fire dominant and my draconic chart is air dominant.

My natal chart:
Sagittarius Sun
Leo Moon
Leo Ascendant
Aries Midheaven
Capricorn Mercury
Sagittarius Venus
Leo Jupiter

My draconic chart:
Aquarius Sun
Libra Moon
Libra Ascendant
Gemini Midheaven
Pisces Mercury
Aquarius Venus
Libra Jupiter

The only thing I can relate to in my Draconic Chart is possibly my Capricorn moon. Otherwise, I have a Virgo Stellium, and I just cannot understand how that would relate to who I am.

Natal:
Sun, Merc, Venus, Uranus, Neptune: Aquarius
Moon: Gemini
Asc, Mars: Scorpio
Saturn: Aries
Jupiter: Pisces
Pluto: Sagittarius

Draconic:
Sun, Merc, Uranus, Neptune: Virgo
Venus: Libra
Moon: Capricorn
Asc, Mars: Gemini
Jupiter: Scorpio
Saturn: Sagittarius
Pluto: Cancer

Maybe also the Jupiter in Scorpio? Haven't read much on it so I'm kind of mentally blank on it, but otherwise, I just don't relate much. If anything, as I've stated, the Capricorn moon was the only placement that I could easily resonate with.

Because the draconic chart is based on the nodes, we see more of their meaning when we consider our actual nodal axis.

In my case, with a Taurus-Scorpio nodal axis, Venus and Pluto are emphasized, and I would just expect to see them making dramatic aspects in draconic, or somehow shaping the draconic. And indeed, as I explained above, they do just that.

Without knowing others' nodes, it's hard to make sense of their draconic charts.

And even then, I rely on draconic charts mainly for synastry, especially family synastry, where I've found enough underlying patterns to prove their value many times over.

I relate to my draconic and natal. I have in the draconic:

Libra sun,
Virgo moon,
virgo merc (i think..)
virgo venus
Sag ASC

I relate to Sag as i've always loved travelling and learning new languages. Before I found out about draconics i wondered why i didnt have alot of sag in my chart! Libra sun- well I sort of feel because i have alot of taurus in natal its not surprising i relate to this sun a little. I am really indecisive for a taurus though.
virgo makes me hyper anxious about health and dirt.

I dont know if this can be seen in the natal anyway though. I havent looked too closely at other details

I don't believe the draconic chart is meant to "compete" with the natal. As they are really the same story told through another language.

So your question IMO is ; which language tells the story of my soul best? This only you can decide.

I have Sun in Sag/Sun in Libra(Draconic)
My Moon is in Cancer/Moon Taurus(Draconic).

In the natal the Sun in Sag/Moon in Cnacer combo makes for a romantic soul.

The combo of the Sun in Libra/Moon in Taurus makes for a pleasure seeker.

The draconic chart is meant to "extend" on what is already there in the natal. And I think that it could be our desire to associate with "cooler" sounding signs than associate with those that we are blessed with.

For some people, they can be so invested in the signs stigma/reputation, that they forget that its only a marker. A point of reference to a story being told by words- a very limiting medium of communication mind you.

What makes you feel that you can't associate with your natal much?

Lately I've been obsessively working towards a goal
And my Natal Pluto in the 6th could be why

When you have the planet of transformation in your house of day to day life and routine work --it just makes sense

In my Draconic chart my Ascendant sign is Scorpio but the rest of me in that chart is Pisces so j don't feel like it would have much of an influence
Or would it???
Decisions..

How does the Draconic chart determine where the Sun is placed?

@Faith mentioned the nodes, so when I saw my natal True Node at 6 degrees Pisces and my Draconic Sun at 6 degrees Pisces, I thought the Sun replaced the True Node; but when I checked my sister's and friend's charts, that didn't happen.

Edit: Oh, everyone's True Node moves to 0 degrees Aries and the planets disperse to reflect their distance from the True Node in the natal chart. Is that right?

Thanks for the mouthful

Firstly , I would like to say that it may be beneficial to read the sign on the house cusp together with the planet therein.

Since you are using the whole sign system, I will too.

Your Asc in Leo has Cap on the 6th house cusp and Taurus on the 10th house cusp.

Any house cusp with Cap/Saturn is, is where we are born “old”/wise, where we want to assume responsibility and are traditional/ conservative.

Any house with Leo/Sun is, is where we want to shine, where we believe we are very important and expect to be treated like royalty. This is the house that we metaphorically “beat our chest” about.

With the Sun in Cap this combo suggests that we “beat our chest” (Sun) over being wise beyond our years(Cap). Our ability to behave responsibly or act like adults from day one, is something that we want to shine at(Sun).

When in the 6th house of everyday habits, health and work, this is the area of life where we want to shine(Sun) by making choices that are wise and mature(Cap).

Often Sun in 6th suggests that we had to overcome some impairment or health issue(6th). And this is tied to our sense of self somehow i.e “Look at what I overcame to be here” etc.

Oh but there is so much more….

Now anywhere we find Taurus/Venus(partly) on the house cusp, is where we tend to want stability/consistency/attachment and possession.

It is the house where we say “I want this. That is mine” or “I really like this. This is what I desire to have”. This house is about getting and accumulating all the things we value.

Anywhere where we find the Moon/Cancer, is where we are eternal “babies”.

This is where we want to nurture/be nurtured, where we are receptive, want to protect/be protected. It is where we get very emotional or experience constant change -because of the changes in feelings etc.

With Moon in Taurus, we tend to surround ourselves with physical things in order to nurture/feel nurtured i.e ”If you really care for me(Moon),you will buy me that dog I love so much(Taurus)" etc.

The more things Taurus “has” that they desire, the more nurtured/cared for they feel.

Now when in the house cusp of the reputation, public appeal and career(10th), this suggests someone who goes out to the world(10th) to accumulate(Taurus) things that will make them feel well taken care of (Moon).

So the Moon in 10th often suggests an individual who gets a lot of emotional satisfaction from going out into the public world at large.

This is not usually just for fame(unless Moon is in Leo/Sun is there), but for reasons that are necessary to their emotional well-being(Moon).

Often Moon in 10th will be a workaholic. And since Taurus is on the house cusp of the 10th, this may suggest one who progressively acquires all the good things in life(Taurus) that are necessary for their well-being.

With Moon here of course, the “need” is hardly ever satisfied. So the world stage/public arena is likely to be their home throughout their lives.

Moon in 10th is also the type to expect that their career cater to their emotional wants/needs.

Oh but there is so much more here too…..

Is any of this applicable to you?

Yes that's right.

It's interesting that your draconic sun is right on your North Node!

I think it's fun to piece the tropical and draconic together, looking for meaning.

The natal-to-draconic comparison charts are useful for that purpose, by the way.

Usually, in my experience, it's easy to see how they can be woven together, especially if you know that person's life story and how their "destiny" issues are playing out.

@Nyctea

Well,I think that if it doesn't fit, don't force it on.

The natal chart should "sing" and be immediately recognizable.

But what I do understand about natal planets is that the house cusps could be off, but the Planetary energy is pretty much unchanged.

That stellium in Aquarius in the 7th(whole house system) could have a big influence on you.

I would really be interested in seeing your chart -if you don't mind.
