I want to add, that as Mercury in Aries, I at least have some respect for people who deal with things directly. Mocking me, and gossiping about me - no respect given.

I have this placement and I worry that I might hurt peoples feelings that have Mercury in a water sign. By being too harsh or direct with what I say. Is it possible to avoid this? Like talking with someone who has Mercury in Cancer. I try to think before I speak. But I'm worried about when I get angry. I don't want to end up saying something too harsh that may hurt their feelings. I also have Mercury in the 8th house. And Mercury in Aries sextile Mars in Gemini. I usually don't care about being a little harsh. But with this person I really try to filter myself.IP: Logged |

I have Mercury/Mars square and I can certainly relate. I can speak my mind a lot.But its usually within the themes of injustice and outright foolishness (according to my perspective). I sometimes fly off the handle.  @ChildofVenus I don't think you should "censor" ur speech just because you are speaking to a Mercury in Cancer. As they do appreciate straightforwardness too. But just be sure you always talk within the realms of your own subjective experience and feelings. If they have Uranus/Mars or Pluto in aspect to Mercury, they are made of sturdier stuff and can handle some banter. I usually find myself at loggerheads with Mercury in Leo. Because they have their ego(Leo) attached to what they say,they often get louder when arguing. Or retreat and give silent treatment. The former is especially when Mars is in aspect to Mercury. I’ll chip in on this one based on personal experience!
I have a Cancer Mercury 11H conj Sun, sq Pluto op. Moon. I can take a banter or two and can have a REALLY foul mouth. I also like when people are transparent with what they are trying to convey.
What I don’t like, and my husband (Aries Mercury) has a huge problem with this, is : don’t spew sh1t out that is off-topic, degrading, hurtful and only meant to spin my head off!
I cannot stand this behavior! I won’t be able to drop it, unfortunately. If you want to critisize my behavior or present your anger/dislike one way or another, please do so like a grown up and not like a 7yr old :-/
I do have a very explosive Mars and that Mars will kill all of another person’s Aries placements, whether it’s Sun, Moon, Mercury, whatever. Problem with me is that I won’t just say sh1t to say sh1t. No, I’ll be calculated and put my knife where I’m 100% certain it will stick. IP: Logged |

Yea see that's what I mean sometimes we just say things without thinking. The first thing that comes to mind. Whether it be rude, blunt or direct. I'm guilty of it when I'm angry I'll say things that I know hurt people's feelings.

I don't like people deliberately being hurtful either. Only difference is, I won't try to destroy a person if they push me. I can actually be proud of that. It's rare that I absolutely go off on someone - extremely rare. I regret giving some criticism to someone yesterday, calm criticism based on their mocking someone else (online). I should have just kept quiet, I miss just being quiet. But I'm a defender. IP: Logged |
