We all have such different needs and body types! Raw food can be disastrous for some and exactly right for others. Chinese medicine/dietary wisdom is really not all about the raw food from what I gather, except in certain circumstances. Cooked food is much more easily assimilated i think overall. But raw food has that vitality, is really cooling (are you Pitta dominated, Faith? I am I think. I'm actually more familiar with Chinese terminology and stuff (and not too much at that)-- but I know for sure I have HEAT! So some raw stuff is good for me i think.

Ceres in Pisces, intercepted in 3rd house, conjunct Pholus and Jupiter (yes it comes as a surprise) and squaring ASC/Neptune/NN/Mars, quinkunx Pluto, too.

BTW if in doubt (and hurry), it usually is mashed potatoes, boiled or (other) eggs, vegetables and fish.
that or tomatoe soup and rice, and a banana for dessert. I love melon and pineapple, too, though. oh and strawberries, in fact I think I might going to have a bowl of strawberries with a little cream maybe. (I like sweet things ).

I love pancakes, but for some reason never make them myself.

I love a lot of unhealthy fatty sugary food, I have to keep a watch on this.

I donīt like (most) raw vegetable though (I rather choose not eating anything at all if someone wants to make me go on a raw-vegetable-diet). Fruit is a different matter. Especially in summer. And yes occasionally I do eat salad and raw vegetable, but because its reasonable, not because I like it.

Heehee DINNER?!

Ceres in Pisces high five! I can totally relate!

Of course Pholus/Jupiter and the quick 3rd house would add an extra dimension of surprise! But I tend to forget about such mundane things as dinner also I think that's where the Pisces comes in (don't get me wrong I love and honour food and mundane isn't necessarily a bad word!)

Jupiter-Ceres probably gives that penchant for sweet yummy things

I had squid and shrimp for dinner last night. I'm on a diet so it's mostly protein for me lately and it just so happens that we had a seafood feast.

My Ceres is in Gemini. Not sure what that means but will be looking into it in a bit.

I'll bite... *groan*

Chicken and dumplings. More specifically, chicken, carrots, and perogies cooked in broth and onions.

Ceres conjunct SN in Cap/3rd house opposite Venus conjunct NN Can/9th

Does that tell you anything?

I have no idea. If I feel ambitious, we'll have grilled chicken with some garlic and rosemary, and salad.

If I'm not feeling ambitious (and I'm usually not, when I'm in the kitchen) we'll have takeout Mexican food again, or some hodgepodge random mixture of whatever each of us feels like eating that requires very little time and effort.

I was literally just thinking, before I popped in here "I wish I liked to cook". I dislike being in the kitchen, generally. Unless I'm making candles, ointments, herbal tea with herbs I've harvested...etc.

With the exceptions of Indian food and seafood, I would probably not even bother to eat if I didn't have to. I see it mostly as an inconvenience that gets in the way of things I'd actually like to be doing. -__-

My Ceres:

Aries, conjunct Venus by the minute, H9.
Opposite Pluto.
Trine NN.

Widely conjunct Jupiter by an out of sign, 8* orb.

I'm pretty sure my Pluto wins the opposition battle in my chart.

Brown rice with chicken and brokkoli

I don't mind cooking (not a fan of it either) but most times my husband does it since he used to be a chef and he loves really cooking!

My Ceres is in Libra in the 3rd house. It forms a sextile with my Sagittarius Sun/Venus and my Leo Jupiter, and an opposition with my Aries Midheaven.

Yungang, reading with real interest the whole thread.. Btw, if you don't mind my asking, what would you imagine about the food habits of a person who has Ceres conj. Sun exact? LOL, he is my brother, I can describe what he eats, but I thought of it like a game on the subject of your thread, if you are in

P.S. I'll go and look about the other aspects of his Ceres, if that helps!

My Ceres is in Leo in the 2nd house - my understanding of Ceres is that it is the mother asteroids, including taking care of people, healing, authority, cooking etc.

the 2nd house is also the house of self indulgence, being in Leo i like to think i'm a good creative cook, my girlfriend always goes on at me about how i go to creative with explaing what i eat lol

For dinner i had Thai Garlic pepper Chicken, with a rice, asparagus, avocado and cucumber spinach salad, garnished with soy sauce (My favey)

------------------
As above so Below.
Ophiuchus Sun, Sagittarius Moon.
N.Node conjunct Atlantis Exact.
Jupiter/Pluto conjunct Horus/Giza exact.
Sirius on the asc.

I think my Aries Ceres prefers to be outside gardening, or helping my son learn in a fun way, etc (H9).

I'm more willing to cook if I'm using stuff I grew myself, and picked fresh from the garden.

Hmmm... well it's Gemini... maybe he grazes voraciously throughout the day? Does he eat EVERYTHING?

Maybe like... a bite of this a chunk of that but non committal and liking to remain open to something new, leaves room in his belly for more and paces himself but eating is a central part of his life? He probably likes variety though and probably really really identifies with his food... wait

does he eat HIMSELF?

just joking

"Hmmm... well it's Gemini... maybe he grazes voraciously throughout the day? Does he eat EVERYTHING?"

LOL, yeah, he can graze throughout the day

OR

(and you can't really believe it the minute you see him doing that, especially if you know how much he eats)
He can eat NOTHING all day and then the minute he sits for lunch/dinner/breakfast whatever (the hour doesn't really matter for him) he can eat literally EVERYTHING! I mean we live 2 years together and I can't remember having a full fridge for more than one day! Some days, he is so much hungry, I almost think that actually eating me as well has probably crossed his mind!!!

"a bite of this a chunk of that but non committal and liking to remain open to something new, leaves room in his belly for more and paces himself but eating is a central part of his life? He probably likes variety though and probably really really identifies with his food"

Yeah, ABSOLUTELY that, too!!!
His dinner/lunch etc. contain so many things, you can't even imagine the combinations!!! I don't remember the weirdest of all now, because he does that everyday, so I lost counting (remembering the weird combos I mean)! All things match everything for his lunches/dinners etc. He doesn't even blink for weird mixes of food, if he feels like it, he will go for it, no matter how weird or even disgusting other people would think!

I should also mention that he cooks himself, too - really good btw- and his speciality are all kinds of sauces, dips, etc. This is his real talent in cooking!
^
...and maybe in life, too, lol, he talks A LOT and with many exaggerations as well ----> in my country another way of saying that someone exaggerates a lot in his speech is by saying {he tells "sauces"} ---> if we translate it in english with the exact word)

As for as eating himself, no, lol, he hasn't reached that point......yet...hahahaha

I loved your humor, btw, and I was glad that you wanted to play, too!

P.S. And (delayed) happy birthday to your man yungang, lol it's the second time I forget to write it in my post!!! I mean so much rambling and no wish! Sorry I wish you to be well with him!

ETA : LOL, I also forgot to mention the placements of Ceres for the both of us!

my brother ---> Ceres in Gem conjunct Sun in the 8th
me -----> Ceres in Scorpio in the 9th trine NN and (a bit widely) Moon.

How much degrees are considered within orb for Ceres btw? Since it's not an asteroid, neither a planet, but a dwarf-planet?

Ceres at 9 degrees Leo in 2nd house.

I had a banana for breakfast, a hummus wrap for lunch and a few saltine crackers that my son gave me on the ride home from daycare...lol. I made them chicken Pattie sandwiches and spatzel for dinner. I wasn't hungry so I passed.

The only ghee I know about is made out of pot. That would have been a good dinner for sure! Lol!

Happy birthday to your man yungang. Have fun tonite!

LOL, yungang, I am really glad about your thread, because I have been thinking a lot about Ceres! It has something alluring in it for me, but then I dont know much yet, so I haven't deciphered it..so what initiated my thoughts about Ceres are
- my observations about Ceres in transits,
- the fact that my brother has Ceres conj. Sun exact and how obvious is that about him in fact ---> how compelling is that for him to be this way
- and how I recently discovered that I have my draco Ceres conjunct my own Sun, but this doesn't make sense in the first place! I don't consider myself a nurturer, I am mostly a nurturing person with the people close to me, my close friends and relatives (only the ones that I feel close) and the man I love! I am not a nurturing person in general and to everyone I mean, plus I dont think I have so strong maternal instinct compared to other people I know lol. And even with my closed ones, I am mostly the insecure (dumb) style, I don't nurture them much if they don;t nurture me enough before, in order to feel safe . And I started thinking - when I am THE MOST of a nurturing person I can be ? In which period of my life I nurtured A LOT of people A LOT? And then it hit me! When I felt like I was right on my path and these are the things I should experience right now, I am in the right place the right time and I am really happy and carefree and ALL IS LOVE! LOL
Obviously I was in love lol, but for me since I was a little kid that always felt like "moving forward my NN--->draco). Please tell me if any of this makes sense or if it's just rambling! Maybe all or a lot of other people feel like moving towards their life-path when in love (Venus in Cancer in the 5th and so many other things I don't know are probably the cause for that, too)

And sorry for the half-derailment lol. I began the comment with Ceres at least!

Cool thread!

Ceres in Scorpio. Some things other than food make me feel nourished.

Lol.

Okay, seriously though - I go through periods of abstinence followed by over-indulgence. Overall, I have a great love of food. Am an emotional eater. How much I stuff my face with is never proportional to my actual (physical) appetite.

I could never go on diets though. Just reducing junk intake proves good enough for me most times. I feel that we don't need to deny ourselves any craving as long as we don't skimp on giving our brains & bodies the nutrition they need. I focus on trying to manage my time so that I can cook more. That feels gooooood.

The only 'food group' I can't stand is sweets & desserts. (With the exception of tiramisu ).

Hellooo, Ceres-fellow ! hahahahaha

And this "The only 'food group' I can't stand is sweets & desserts. (With the exception of tiramisu " scared the hell out of me a bit, lol!
I don't eat sweets myself for about 14 years now (without even trying it, I just dont feel it), I eat just a tiny bit very very rarely and...my favorite dessert is tiramisu!!!!
Because it makes ...bittersweet, hahahaha

Oh my gosh..! This is freaky.
Me too, I just *don't feel it*. It's so nice to meet someone who gets it. Hehe.. Sweets are too Venusian for a Plutonic Ceres, maybe?
And yes, tiramisu -- helps that it's rum-soaked coffee cake. A little somethin' for every craving.

"It's so nice to meet someone who gets it."
Yes, it is!!! I couldn't imagine this magic little thing (Ceres) could do that just sooo easy!!!

"Sweets are too Venusian for a Plutonic Ceres, maybe? "
Hmmm, really interesting thought! You maybe got a point there! Maybe this has to do with other Scorpio/8th house/Pluto influence, too? Which intensifies in a way the Ceres in Scorpio influence? Do you have any of these above strong in your chart? I have Mars conj. Pluto, Pluto sq. Asc/Sun/Mercury, MC and Jupiter in Scorpio and chartruler in 8th...lol, I don't even know if I am thinking it in the right way, just a thought!
Btw, since you mentioned venusian, the weird thing is I have a taurus IC and when yungang asked about what we eat, I didn't even think that I don't quite eat sweets lol!
As for your first observation about Ceres, I totally second that, too!!!

Lastly, "And yes, tiramisu -- helps that it's rum-soaked coffee cake. A little somethin' for every craving. "
You shoudln't have said that!!! I ADORE coffee!!!! I am a total coffee-junkie and I can hardly imagine myself living without it lol! Although coffee isn;t a food actually, but this is exactly what I love so much in tiramisu! 2 pleasures in one, you see...a bittersweet flavor (as much as I can handle lol) AND coffee!!!! yummmmm
