I'm literally interested in your menu today, but if you want to discuss your overall food habits that's great too. Edit: Please include aspects to and sign placement of Ceres in your natal chart, as well as any other information you find interesting (draconic comparisons? Crazy transits? Etc.)

Would really appreciate this staying in Astro 2.0 as Ceres made it into the American Ephemeris and is after all a dwarf planet

My Ceres is at 17 Pisces, 6 degrees from my North Node and trine my Pluto and Sun in Scorpio.

Today I ate tempeh and vegetable and egg mash leftovers all together with pickerel for breakfast and felt sick afterwards. I vascillate from being really careful to not eating barely at all to paleo diets for remineralization as my teeth are really bad (Mars in Aries square Saturn in Capricorn). I became healthy food obsessed a few years ago when I became pregnant but before that I used to eat exclusively dumpstered food/garbage from cans as I was religiously not using money. So i have a very varied food history, quite Piscean and encompassing. I was vegetarian from the day of my birth until after my daughter was born when I realized i needed meat to replenish my body after all the hard traveling and pregnancy. The vegetarianism was compassionate and so was the decision to eat meat (self care--and I only eat pastured organic meat...)

I am eating steamed broccoli with ghee at my friend's house right now... and will probably skip dinner or go out with my boyfriend for dinner as its his birthday, but he will probably not do anything as normal as going out for dinner or even eating dinner as his Ceres is in Aquarius.. he is obsessed with mushrooms though and once it's spring he will likely be eating nothing else. They are like the world wide Web of the earth/food world

The friend feeding me the broccoli is currently going vegan due to spring time zeal for vital food with a high vibration. She has Ceres conjunct IC in Cancer, opposite Venus. She also made bacon/bean/lard for the kids... always feeds me when I come over and is so inspiring for me in her way with food.

Our Ceres are exactly trine. We used to live together and mother together (our kids are the same age). We do parent in compatible ways.

Ghee

So delicious.

And I love your stories.

For over a week I was all low-fat raw vegan, heavy emphasis on fresh juice and green smoothies, but last night my cat kept me awake all night and with no sleep and no energy, my willpower buckled.

Breakfast was a handful of dates, some coffee.

Brunch was 1/4 raw pineapple.

Lunch was a can of sardines. With my son acting like I was a barbarian for eating something like that. Oh well, that's better than fainting. Also some raw sauerkraut.

Snack was more pineapple and a banana.

Dinner (?) I don't know.

My Ceres @ 1 Gemini, sextile 0 Leo Saturn, 0 Aries Vesta

I feed myself with words, the food habits come from my 6H sun & Mercury.

Mmmm pineapple.

And yes ghee

Re: your 6th house Sun, yes. I think food habits are so integral and encompassing that other placements certainly affect them. My Ceres in Cancer friend has an Aqua Sun and it shows in her food habits of course. She's really responsible and well paced with food too and I attribute that in part to her Jupiter/Saturn/Moon conjunction.

Still curious to see how Ceres placement is reflected in people's food choices. I think the fact that you're nourished through words comes through in your food choices too maybe? Like I'm nourished by chi gong breathing techniques and stuff and would forego thoughts of food for that... that's Piscean.

Oh I just realized I didn't answer the actual question...for dinner I'm probably going to throw some vegetables in the Vita-Mix to make a puree and warm it up a bit...like a raw soup.

Then if I'm starving I'll just eat whatever my inner food demon (the "bad" twin) tells me to. Corn chips or worse.

It's funny, I was just thinking of this earlier today. I've always wanted to have a label (a word, a Gemini thing) for my eating style, but it doesn't serve me well, because I seem to do best just listening to my body and taking cues from it as I go along.

ETA: Happy Birthday to your boyfriend!

Ceres conjunct Chiron, Sun, and Mercury in Aries, in the 6th house.

I'm supposed to be cooking a lot, and I look like I'm shopping for an army every week, but I have problems with my energy, and with motivation, so the food has been mostly going to waste, which I hate. I occasionally have nightmares about it, which sounds silly, but it happens.

Tonight, I'm rushing off to the health food store, and a bookstore. I have about six different soups I need to make, and also some Moroccan Stew (which is vegetarian, if you replace chicken broth with water, or vegetable broth). I also want to make some potato and pea curry.

I don't like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, unless I get an early start, and have the energy, so I look for easier recipes. I love blended soups, and just had a spicy tomato soup for dinner, but it disagrees with my stomach, so I have to give it up (I get ill, so I really shouldn't have had it before leaving the house). I love spicy food, but have to be careful with it.

Faith, were you told to be on raw foods only, or was that your own choice?

I found that I only lasted on a juice and smoothie fast, when I had my tea not long after I got up, and then a hot soup for dinner - like lentil soup. So, it was a modified cleanse.

I'll post the Moroccan Stew recipe at some point, either here, or in the vegan thread (omitting the chicken broth).

Hm.. I had some left-over chicken soup in the fridge to warm up but ended up making pancakes instead.

Ceres in 23degrees Aquarius.

Over-all eating habits though.

I've tended to overindulge in my life but recently have started working out etc. so trying to eat a bit healthier (not today obviously o_O pancakes?)

I'm not sure but i think it might be because i'm quite Neptune influenced (Sun and NN in Pisces, Ascendant on my Neptune sextile my Sun xD) .. Also a not too tight Venus/Jupiter conjunction..

Update: got vegan chili from the organic grocery store deli (which is beside the new age bookstore ) for supper and am eating it--yum!

I might grow a big old garden this year on the land i bought. I'm currently house sitting at my friend's ecovillage and it all feels very North Node ish (Ceres-NN). Challenging and right.

My boyfriend and I have Saturn square Ceres in our composite quite tight and a double whammy in synastry (semi and sesqui squares) Saturn-Ceres. We're going to garden together... maybe. So interested in how it pans out.

I have heard that Saturn-Ceres is noted in charts of those with eating disorders/difficulties and also have noticed personally that those who make careers of advising re: food and health and well being (a client of mine has the conjunction and this is her job, Ayurvedic practitioner).

So it could go either way for my partner and I. Food is a big topic in our relationship; makes or breaks our well being as a couple, how well we're eating, it seems!

Any of ya'll into gardening? What's your style? (Addendum/bonus question!)

Also very interested to hear any Saturn-Ceres stories.

LOL, I don't know where to start exactly, but I am interested in the topic! Ceres is still a bit mystery to me and I don't know where to start for the connections!
Ceres in 14 Scorpio here.
So, what does this mean about my eating habits?
Because it can take me the whole day if I start what I love eating!
I eat EVERYTHING! I LOVE food! :roar:
(leo sun got to do with anything? Too simplistic, but I really don;t know how it fits...Ohhh, must be probably my Taurus IC, right?)

ETA : This is the opportunity to look for my Ceres aspects for the first time, sorry, really a beginner still..
Ceres 14 Scorpio trine NN,
sextile (3d 44 min.) Moon,
hmmm...nothing else

Heehee... i think we all have a "bad" twin but I can see the duality with eating habits being more pronounced with Gemini!

Yes it sounds like you're describing the Leo Sun/Taurus IC for sure! The positive aspects to your Moon and NN probably indicate a smooth/creative/intimate relationship with food and with your mother/nurturing also (?) They help facilitate your following your heart and deeply enjoying food. The Scorpio means your relationship withfood is likely quite profound. Passionate!

Thank you very much for your answer yungang!

Yes to everything, no only to this part "with your mother" (probably chiron in 4th? No need to answer, just thinking out loud )

Is this true that Ceres has also to do with endings? Its symbol is the Scythe after all and if I remember well, we mentioned that in another thread, too? I am not sure!
Anyway, thanks for your thread!

I'm into gardening. I planted a lot of seeds in pots last week.

And dessert was a milkshake from Steak n' Shake, on the way home (I posted this from the store).

9th house Libra ceres square venus, saturn, chiron, asc.

I don't really (or rather, didn't) have any difficulty or eating issue. The only thing that has been a bit of a bother for the past few years, is the condition of my stomach. It's because of physical trauma, it's not something hereditary or a result of eating habits. I keep a "healthy" diet in order to not upset it. Well, my eating habits have always been quite ok, I don't like junk food, processed food, soft drinks...etc...

I usually like simple dishes. I'm a beef lover (especially raw beef), and I love spicy stuff - earth dominated chart, aries moon. For the last few years I've been eating less meat though. Partly because my s.o hardly eats meat. He likes fish, aromatic herbs, flower waters (especially orange blossom water), tofu and veggies. And partly because of my stomach, as I mentioned above. It doesn't love hearty meaty meals like before.

Heh ~I'm not half the (wo)man I used to be ~.

I miss the "decadent" feel of hearty meaty meals (heh 4th house taurus mars trine cap asc), so I make up for it by spending more time cooking and making more complex dishes.

I like making desserts, well I like my home made desserts, so does my s.o. Heh another thing about him, he loves his food pretty. We don't like stuff that are too *sugary* sweet, and most of the desserts sold out there are too sugary for our taste. My ceres conjunct his sun, so I'm happy to spoil him rotten.

Yesterday we had stuffed bitter melon soup, rice and steamed vegetables for dinner. Snow fungus and sweet pear soup for dessert.

Today we had miso soup, fried fish, mixed vegetables and mushrooms rolls with rice. Sweet fermented glutinous rice for dessert.

DINNER????

Crap, I have to remind myself and think of what I might have for dinner. Every day it comes too fast, and surprises me and I have not really prepared anything (I often eat with my parents though, and my mom is a great cook. )

Ceres in Pisces, intercepted in 3rd house, conjunct Pholus and Jupiter (yes it comes as a surprise) and squaring ASC/Neptune/NN/Mars, quinkunx Pluto, too.

BTW if in doubt (and hurry), it usually is mashed potatoes, boiled or (other) eggs, vegetables and fish.
that or tomatoe soup and rice, and a banana for dessert. I love melon and pineapple, too, though. oh and strawberries, in fact I think I might going to have a bowl of strawberries with a little cream maybe. (I like sweet things ).

I love pancakes, but for some reason never make them myself.

I love a lot of unhealthy fatty sugary food, I have to keep a watch on this.

I donīt like (most) raw vegetable though (I rather choose not eating anything at all if someone wants to make me go on a raw-vegetable-diet). Fruit is a different matter. Especially in summer. And yes occasionally I do eat salad and raw vegetable, but because its reasonable, not because I like it.

@teasel ~

"Faith, were you told to be on raw foods only, or was that your own choice?"

My choice.

I love that you garden!

@yungang

"I have heard that Saturn-Ceres is noted in charts of those with eating disorders/difficulties and also have noticed personally that those who make careers of advising re: food and health and well being (a client of mine has the conjunction and this is her job, Ayurvedic practitioner)."

I would love that job. I love Ayurveda, I've been relying on it since my early 20's.

And I would be into gardening but we've divided our time between two houses each summer and things got interrupted. Our strawberries still come back every year amidst the weeds, along with peppermint and some wineberry brambles.

(Saturn sextile Ceres)

@muddy ~

Your diet sounds so delicate, artistic, refined. And how cute that your Ceres is conjunct his sun! I forgot!

@Ceri

"(I rather choose not eating anything at all if someone wants to make me go on a raw-vegetable-diet)."

What? It's better than you know.

Ate tacos last night, though I didn't make them. I'm eating some chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, apple slices, and a bread roll for lunch. Saving some Fantastix! for later.

Ceres in 29th degree of Taurus. Square Venus, Trine Mercury and Neptune, opposite chiron, quincunx Asc and Mars.

Surprisingly enough, I'm underweight, and that annoys me to the extremes.
