These framed up the qualities of the voice. Those relate to the emotions behind the voice, the level of energy behind it, etc. The physical factors of diaphragm (Cancer/Moon), voicebox/throat (Taurus) and energy locus (Sun, Asc) also play into it.

2nd house does relate to throat, but does not encompass the entire quality of one's voice. When I'm doing rectification work and there is an event involving damage to or surgery on the throat I look to the 2nd house cusp for a possible hit in progressed action. However, I never look at a person's natal chart and say hmmm their voice must match the sign on their 2nd house cusp. That would be a titled reductionism.

You can spin yourself round, right round like a record baby, right round round round all around the chain of rulerships like a kid in a metaphysical playground, really enjoying yourself. But you are going to get dizzy and won't be able to reason things through clearly.

Been told I have a lyrical, sing-songy way of speaking. Used to sing. I have high and low tones occurring simultaneously. Many guys over the phone say my voice sounds young. (I'm in my 40s.) If I get sick my voice gets crazy deep. Also been told I sound erotic on the phone and in messages! One guys who had his pluto conj my Mercury/Uranus was obsessed w/ my normal speaking voice which was a bit weird but I can vouch for this synastry as I have it in reverse with my latest crush. His Mercury exact conjunct my ASC just inside my first conjunct my Pluto/Sun and I could listen to him recite anything alllll day looong. He has Merc at 29 Virgo conj Pluto & Uranus AND Moon & Venus with a sextile to Neptune and can be very smoooooth when he wants. Uhnph.

My throat is my weak spot. Used to catch a lot of colds every Fall in my throat and had perpetual strep as a kid. Rare these days tho...
When I was younger, I had a really bad habit of trailing off and not finishing sentences (not sure if that's Uranus or Neptune) I tend to speak in bursts when I get excited about something, then not say anything for a while.
Neptune in 3rd: love film, music, anything that merges images, words and sound/music. I like to write poetry or little songs if I'm upset or as special gifts. It doesn't bother me at all if lyrics are totally obscure and make no sense. I often will just hear sound and completely ignore the rest. Also, all boyfriends have pointed out to me that when I get very upset or emotional, I talk in circles and this is true!

As a female in terms of vocal tone (not specifically music/lyrics) I'm attracted mostly to soulful female singers that have a smooth but slightly smokey & loose, somewhat dreamy erotic and emotional tone. (Moon conj Eros and Venus here!) Many of my faves started out as backup singers doing hooks for other artists and there's something about their tone that grabs you instantly.) Probably also selfishly I like ones that have similar sound/style to my own so I can sing along?? ;}

What you vibe with is indeed very personal. With SZA, her lyrics, tone, way of singing and the sensitivity she conveys I thought ...that girl is full of Scorpio!!! And sure enough, she has a conjunction of Sun/Venus/Pluto in Scorp all conjunct my Moon and Venus almost exact. And her Mercury is in Scorp also conj my Psyche! She is waaaay eclectic and her lyrics - though random on the page, flow perfectly to me the way she sings them. ToveLo is very similar Sun conj Moon w/wide conj to Pluto in Scorp all conj my Eros/Moon. Her Mars conj Mercury/Juno late in Libra conj my own Merc/Uranus. Seems like a theme!

In men, the biggest turn on is a DEEEEEEEP DEEEEP voice with panache/flair. ahhhhhh...
I also love accents and a rhythm or turn of phrase some folks have. (And of course wit/humor!)
Chart Ruler = Mercury
Ruler of 3rd = Pluto
Ruler of 5th = Uranus
Ruler of 7th = Neptune, deposited in 3rd
Ruler of 8th = Mars w/ Mars in 8th and Sun conj Pluto. I tend to like dudes with strong Mercury (and/or lotsa Virgo/Gemini) with aspects from Mercury to Pluto/Mars/Uranus or Neptune.

I second you hugely on this.
Jupiter in 3rd house here and I always have had a loud voice, since childhood. I was always told not to be so loud when talking (Jup square Asc) but it was just my tone. Mind you, it's not masculine nor high pitched. It's just strong, think mezzo soprano.

What a pity I haven't received a formal musical education 😂

Not at all.
My Voice is very Deep, Manly and full of Bass instead treble. Yes I'm man.

I can talk very quietly, or be too loud (accidentally), depending on where I am, or who I'm talking to. I usually like to sit and listen, more than I do talking.

One of my passions is singing. If I could sing for a living and make money, I'd be happier than pig in poop.

I have a pretty strong Venus, Taurus MC, Libra Moon, Libra on the 3rd.

I have some vocal covers on my youtube channel that I had on private for awhile, but recently put on public again. But I have really crappy equipment and don't know the first thing about audio recording, so they aren't the best.

I mostly have them up in case I run into a band or folks looking for a singer and they want some examples.

Mercury would benefit from some VENUS TYPE LEVERAGE.

3rd house/Gemini/Merc is about communication (including writing ability) how you get a message across, HOW you tell it to engage your listener (using anecdotes, fun, inflection..)
But this doesn't mean that on its own, a strong Gemini influence wouldn't give nice tone. In fact, the Gemini may even subconsciously work on his voice, exploring it as part of his tool-kit in better communication.
