I have Gemini in 2nd house and my voice is soft. A lot of people told me I have a sweet voice and sometimes my voice is like a baby girl's voice, lol, mostly on the phone. I have Mercury in Aquarius in 10th house square Pluto. But I also have a voice like if... I just woke up??? you know what I mean? IP: Logged |

Perhaps. I'd look to the ruler of the 2H moreso than the sign on the cusp, though. (Or just take both into consideration.)For instance, I have Gemini rising AND on my 2H cusp, and my voice isn't soft; I don't talk fast and am not always witty/eloquent/whatever other Geminian quality you may think of (actually that's 3H territory... kind of off topic). But for example, I also don't do impersonations well at all. My Mercury is Rx in Scorpio, house 6, so fairly introverted and developmentally "retarded" (I sometimes stutter or have trouble expressing myself, etc). The only thing I could somewhat see in the 2H-voice connection in my personal case is that I find that I sound somewhat "androgynous" (and look rather androgynous as well). Like, my voice isn't really feminine but it isn't really masculine, either, it's just right in between. Which makes me think of Gemini (Mercury is "neutral" compared to other feminine/masculine planets). IP: Logged |

LOL Violets I have Saturn and Uranus in the 2nd - I sound like something is blocking masking my voice damn this Saturn and I sound like a child for my age (sigh) Scorpio rules the 2nd and Mercury conjunct Pluto in Scorpio first house - sometimes my words cut. Nothing sexy about my voice unless you find the young teen like voice attractive. IP: Logged |

^Well I have been told for as long as I can remember I have a cute voice and have been told I am pleasant to talk to and that my voice is sexy too. So either you think my voice is cute or sexy or I am pleasant to talk to etc..In other words part of how I get your attention is with my voice. I feel mercury parallel pluto makes you very intuitive with your communication and lets use your voice to charm and seduce so it changes depending on your agenda you can say.IP: Logged |

Anyway, if we're going with Mercury or H2 ruler, my Mercury is in Aquarius, conjunct my Dsc from H6. So still very Virgo-y in nature, in some ways, as far as house placement.Edit, unnecessarily lengthy post. IP: Logged |

I read 2nd house has to do with the voice because it rules Taurus (throat). IP: Logged |

I think it would make more sense that the 3rd house would have a greater effect on one's voice than the second. I've done astrological experiments with this and the third house has a greater impact on voice. Otherwise, all those social Libra ascendants would sound like they're trying to rip out your soul. Can't have that 24/7, now can we? I have Scorpio on my second house cusp, and Chiron-Pluto conjunction sits inside. My third house cusps Capricorn (Placidus) and I have Merc-Neptune conjunction there. I could more easily identify with a more logical, dreamy voice rather than one that sounds like I'm trying to rip out your soul lol. ------------------ Aquarius Sun, Merc, Venus, Uranus, Neptune Scorpio Mars conj. Yeah I was thinking it was more a 3rd house and mercury thing.... My 3rd house ruler is Uranus which conjuncts exact Jupiter and yes I have this cute accent that people tend to like and when I mispronounce something its always something people find very cute and charming...When I am interested in someone then my mercury parallel pluto kicks in and I want to explore them fully and then my voice probably sounds sweet, exotic and cute but with a seductive and intense layer added to it. hahhahahaha ...........hahahhahaha I agree completely, I picture your voice as dreamy, sweet and calm.. But there is nothing wrong with "ripping out your soul." I want someone to rip out my soul and make me feel really deeply, not 24/7 but at the right time is quite nice, I love it. IP: Logged |

I could probably rip someone's soul out with my 8th house Hades Moon, along with all my Pluto aspects and stuff lol. Sun and Uranus in Point of Thales with Moon-Pluto Opposition. Add the MC and they become Mystic Rectangles. ------------------ Aquarius Sun, Merc, Venus, Uranus, Neptune Scorpio Mars conj. Scorpio with NN and Uranus. I'm not so sure it does come from 2nd house, or not in a really significant way. I don't have an astrological answer as to why though. My voice is really nothing special and certainly I wouldn't say that there's anything Scorpio about it. In fact, I hate hearing it if I'm recorded and listening to it or something. IP: Logged |

Are you maybe saying that 'coz 2nd house --> Taurus and Taurus --> throat? Not sure if this quality is transferable that way. ^ Perhaps if you have the ruler of the 3rd in the 2nd, it might have that effect? Also, liking someone's voice is pretty subjective. Your Caruso is someone else's Nails-on-Chalkboard. Unless, of course someone just has a universally, objectively 'pleasing' voice (such as professional singers). But even there, you'd notice that you have preferences re. which artist's voice you find appealing. The quality of our voice by itself, might be a function of the sign, placement and house ruled by mercury in the chart. Liking it is a matter of synastry & personal taste. IP: Logged |

If it's H3... I have Pluto in Libra there. So does that mean that I sound like a combination of Death, and Peppermint Butler? My voice is certainly not Venusian, lol. But then, my Pluto is opposite my natal Venus in Aries. So, uh. Sorry for all the pop culture references, not sure what my deal is with that. Oh well. Watch Adventure Time, kids. IP: Logged |

no its second house only. actually everything effects everything. but second house rules throat.
aries also (1st). because aries probably rules some parts of the ear. therefore they have a focus on the sounds they make and will adjust their voice accordingly. pisces may have no correlation to sounds or the voice box like taurus. but just the way that someone who has feminine energy may speak differantly than another person who is less feminine, in the same way that pisces will change your vibration and thus everything about yourself including how you talk as well. so taurus wont necessarily control the character of ones voice. it will regulate strong speaking capabilities (unless afflicted perhaps?). it wont resemble the character. just how strong and in tune with their voice and sounds IP: Logged |

just my 2 cents for the world: rulerships might not be true, and even if they were, astrologers in general who believe in it are acting as if a string is tied from the planet to the sign. Addition: its as if you had venus in scorpio conjunct pluto but somehow that is going to affect your voice because venus rules taurus? and thus would make your voice 'plutonian?'
the taurus energy is not located in scorpio. the planet venus is a planet made of mass which has a metaphysical effect on us. theres a chance that it may work like bodily rulerships which i believe are 100% strongly accurate from observing myself. therefore its like saying if you have venus in aries there will be harmony and charm expressed in your soul/eyes. but since venus rules taurus does that mean that your eyes will have little mouths on them (throat) speaking?? I would think so. Taurus/Throat/2nd House. I also thought this passage from the TAURUS-TAURUS section in Linda Goodman's Love Signs might shine a little ray of light on the topic of The Voice... quote:
The Sun Sign Taurus astrology students reading this might want to contemplate a quick and easy proof of the inescapable tie with one's opposite polarity Sun Sign (in the case of Taurus - Scorpio).Astrologically, Taurus rules the throat and vocal cords. The opposite sign, Scorpio, rules, among other things, the sex organs. When puberty occurs in a male, which is a sexual change, there is a simultaneous change of voice. This polarity proof can be given in multiple and fascinating ways, all around the horoscopic wheel - but a detailed analysis of these will have to wait for that forthcoming book I mentioned. Linda Goodman's Love Signs
Although, I also agree with Gemini having a great influence as well. As the wing-footed Messenger of the Gods, Mercury, is Gemini's ruling planet and together preside over communication of all kinds, which I imagine would include speaking and singing as well.
Dave Mason, a Sun Sign Taurus with Venus in Gemini, seems to be a prime example of Taurus & Gemini at work in regards to influencing the voice...
quote: David Thomas "Dave" Mason (born 10 May 1946) is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist from Worcester, who first found fame with the rock band Traffic. Over the course of his career, Mason has played and recorded with many notable pop and rock musicians, including Paul McCartney, George Harrison, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Steve Winwood, Fleetwood Mac, Delaney Bramlett, and Cass Elliot. One of Mason's best known songs is "Feelin' Alright", recorded by Traffic in 1968 and later by many other performers, including Joe Cocker, whose version of the song was a hit in 1969.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Mason
