Mars conjunct Mercury, Jupiter trine both. Sag 3rd house. I think these are major contributors.
I don't have an issue with keeping my mouth shut, it's just a matter of when I open it (or type). It just comes out. Even when I'm joking around, I'll say something and then suddenly start looking around at the people around me, like, "Uh-oh. Did I take that too far?"

For you, well have you narrowed down your rising?
Either way, you know I think people underestimate Libra. They can be some blunt, honest people, depending on what's in their chart. I've known quite a few with some fire in their chart and they had some bite.

Haha i relate to this

I have Mercury quintile Mars and I sometimes take a use of the moment or the right situation and spell my honest opinion right in front of the face.

I feel better when I say what I think and people seem to be pleased or releaved to hear my honesty. I don't know why.

Maybe because I don't do that often and they see my outbursts as that something must have been serious

Also, I would say bluntly honest would be Mercury in Aries.

I know some people with this aspect and they always say what they think. Maybe it's because their words go much quicker than thoughts, but they really have difficulties in holding thoughts inside.

They like to spit their opinion out rough and quick. And they are quite offensive.

While about Sag - Sag in Mercury wouldn't be so straight to the point, I find them to be more preachy than honest.

Strong Sag sun, venus or mars would be honest. Moon wouldn't, though.

I have a friend with Mercury in Sag, but she is Scorpio Sun and Gemini Moon, so she just likes to be heard.

She talks really loud and in topics everyone could quickly join, but you will never hear her honest opinion.

It's always mixed with jealousy or two sidedness.

You took the words right out of my mouth!
I was just about to ask whether Mars Q Mercury would be the cause as I have this too. Haha. I'm the same. Not usually blunt but when I am it's like someone just ordered milk at the bar.

Also have Jupiter trine ASC and Venus, Jupiter in the 9th.

Maybe this type of quintile has a good sense of timing when not to be silent?

Quintiles are talents, they say

I also heard that Virgo in Lilith conjunct the Ascendant has an uncanny ability to say just the right thing at the right time, though these individuals are not really talkative at first.

As well as the ability to say just the wrong thing at the worst time...

Could also be the water moon?

I respond to emotional cues and trust my gut when I'm talking, and sometimes that is misleading and I shouldn't have. I might say things in the moment, that seem appropriate within the context of that moment...and later if I think of it again, it seems off. Or way off.

Thing is, my Pisces moon can feel such goodwill towards others that I mistake that for "immunity"...ie, "They can't get offended by this, how could they, it's harmless!"...yet they do get offended if I'm not careful.

For instance I have apologized in text before and it's been taken as sarcasm, something that always shocks me because I almost never say "sorry" in a sarcastic way, that is not my personality or habit. I forget that other people do it, and forget to frame my words so they're clearly understood.

My moon and Mercury don't aspect each other save for a wide semisquare. Maybe that's part of the problem - a disconnect.

Good point.

I have Cancer Moon and I often feel insecure when I say what I truly think. Like, now they know my honesty and will turn it against me.

But also it's hard for me to put masks - my Moon conjuncts Mercury, so I just always end up saying the truth. I can wait for the better moments to say it or when things go into the past, but I always say it, at least to the closest ones.

I think it's important for better relationships. Being honest.

^ I was editing like crazy while you were quoting me.

I love moon conjunct Mercury in Cancer. My sister has this and even though she and I have the rockiest relationship ever, I have always been amazed at how much warmth she is able to convey. Like putting out a beam of sunshine wherever she wants. (Her sun also conjunct the moon and Mercury).

ETA: She can be very "stupidly honest" but to some people, that is actually refreshing and charming. Some people much prefer that to cool & polished manners.

Oh, so she is Sun,Moon,Mercury Cancer like me?

Cancers can be annoying. I annoy myself because my opinion is way too personal and I get hurt often because of this.

Everything is not exactly the way you see it - that's a lesson I keep learning and learning. (Funny that these words I often hear from my Mercury in Virgo friend - always objective and smart )

But I sense people's unfairness and superficiality, so that helps. Sometimes I like to tell a bad person how I see through him and he has the best reaction ever

My daughter is this way, although I won't say it's stupid. However, it's mostly with me. She will tell me everything she thinks, good or bad.

Moon in the 3rd
Mercury trine Mars
Mercury trine Moon

They can totally be bitingly honest. I can imagine that with fire they'd be dynamite. Without much fire I've noticed they're too often honest mostly behind your back though because they're really so interested in saving face, peace and harmony... but can totally let it fly to whoever if they're indignant enough and kind of enjoy fighting I've found... it's part of the pendulum swing meant to attain balance... the kind of... figuring people out verbally thing... eventually to see how justice is integral to things... but challenged along the way to sort things out..?

So think yes Libra can be honest but their strong desire for everybody to be "nice" to one another can make it so that they'll mostly wait for the person in question to be gone... totally depends on other chart factors though. As you say, fire can give Libra quite the tongue.. they believe so hard that they're right and have the law to mete out... can be problematic... I'm a Libra Venus and acknowledge this in myself too.

Virgos!

Yesterday my triple Virgo bf asked this one guy about marks he had on his body. In front of other people. The guy was clearly not comfortable talking about it. LOL I just kind of shrugged like yep, that's my boyfriend. He has asked people he's just met stuff like this before, and sometimes people don't mind talking about it.

The way I see it, he is asking people in front of other people "hey, why do you have flaws in your appearance?"
LOL

My mom puts her foot in her mouth a lot.
But she also cannot bite her tongue if she thinks someone looks like a mess. It's usually funny. One time at dinner she told her brother in front of her in laws "You look like a mad scientist" He went through a phase where he would wear his glasses on his head and it would make his hair stick up.
This has got to be from her Virgo Mercury and Venus.
But then she does this other thing, where she acts like a kid. If you tell her not to bring something up to people, she will bring it up to that person 20 mintues later. On a trip my sister told my mom "do not bring this up to my mother in law." And then she did in that same day. It's pointless to tell her these things.
I'm in a situation right now where I want to tell mom not to bring something up in front someone. My mom was talking about people who are in the spectrum in front of someone who is in the spectrum. It was pretty bad. I find it pointless to tell her to stop making an @$$ of herself.
She also has Gemini ASC, Leo Sun and Mercury.
