I have many mutual receptions in my chart:

Moon in Aries - Mars in Cancer
Venus in Sagittarius - Jupiter in Libra
Saturn in Aquarius - Uranus in Cap

This has to amount to something right?

This references mutual reception in transit but it gave me something to think about in terms of my own natal.

"The voices of these two signs/ planets are not in conflict when (and this is what mutual reception is all about) they are willing to work together and listen to the wisdom each has to offer. In mutual reception it is easier for the two to hear one another. It’s kind of like when you are staying at someone else’s house and you get frustrated because you can’t find where they keep their toilet paper (for example) and then you call them up and they say, “Oh, it’s right there in the hall closet with all the other cylindrical things, my house is organized by shape.” www.mwtarotscopes.com/post/88525298510/tarotscopes-for-the-week-of-06-11-14

I've Jupiter in cancer (8th)
Moon in sag (2nd)

I don't completely understand it apart from the opposition but an area where Its been apparent in my life is this:

I've always had a familial proximity with teachers - there's either very good feeling or hostility but rarely the kind of detachment normally between tutor/student. They've felt like friends or enemies - emotions are involved (even though I am conscious of the professional relationship and the reason why, below).

My mum is a teacher, many of my extended family are lecturers etc. The bond with my mum was cultivated very much through learning (she only became a teacher later) and so I associate emotional bonds with learning. however, mainly, I believe in emotional distance and especially in a professional setting so it's always been very strange to sometimes encounter more warmth from teachers than family.

Just thinking out loud.

It feels like the opposition is doing its thing but then has a kind of foreign exchange. It's both illuminating on something unfamiliar and the familiar.

Not sure if this can be translated well as still can't theorise beyond that exp.
