Though of course for me that was the reversed order from Sun over Venus to Moon, so I guess my chart does not qualify.IP: Logged |

I wish there was more information on this subject! It is interesting to me, and it seems to fit in a general sense. For my son and I, we both have Saturn preceding Moon, and Pluto following, and we both have Saturn square Pluto in natal. However, my son and husband both have NN and other points (for my son, his Vertex and PoF) following their Moon directly, so I'm not sure what to do with that. Otherwise, my husband has Neptune preceding his Moon, and Vesta, NN, and then Mars following. Neptune and Mars make sense for his life, I think. IP: Logged |

@ mirage,I just love you for all the thought you put into this...and the caring, creativity, talent. And I appreciate your help, crafting new lenses with which to view my life and situation. Edit - Had some replies but I feel quiet lately and would rather just honor that feeling. @Violets Me, too, I'd love more information. I found some archaic, fatalistic, and misogynistic old prophecies about what a man's wife will be like, based on the planet his moon crosses first, and I actually started transcribing it to post here until I realized it was nuts. I did came across another article a long time ago...cannot find it again. @Ceri I'm tempted to consider asteroids as the first conjunction, or at least take a long pause and say "hmm" over the fact that my moon crossed Pallas first. @SV I don't know much about Chiron myself, it's one of the more interesting space-rocks to learn about though. Edit - it still confuses me. @mollywu Thanks for answering. Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury so maybe that's why you feel more Gemini-ish?

Faith, omg, you are such a wonderful writer! drawn-and-quartered Mars... Oh yes, I feel your hugs!!! And I HOPE you feel mine towards you too. Detachment? semantics/... ohhh no no no no... I am soooo glad we opt to communicate-- not intending to say that about YOU personally, one bit! I KNOW you're a sensitive-soul.No, I'm having a new richness in insight on what self-care actually means.... Glad that the tPluto retro on your Sun is treating you kinder this time... {yay} IP: Logged |

Well In this instance, Faith, my Moon crossed Atropos and Dionysos first I think. No wrong, the first was KALYPSO (conjunct my Moon by 0°20). However with asteroids it might be difficult, as we can never really know which asteroids might REALLY be the first (as we simply cannot have all existent asteroids in our mind). If using asteroids, there needs probably to be some prioritizing. IP: Logged |

Interestingly Kalypso(17 Aqua) is almost in a T-square with my Penelope (21 Scorpio)-Odysseus(21 Taurus)-opposition. Not quite making the "cut".Interestingly Mr Sag`s Odysseus on 19 Scorpio is right in the middle of that wide orb. Interestingly HIS first asteroid the Moon had to cross (on 00 Cap) was Penelope. ^ Interesting!Lucky me, I've got Elektra conjunct my moon with 1°, separating. I guess you know Elektra. But hey, I'm not guilty of anything like that. It just means that I admire electricians and electricity....dishwashers, clothing machines, hair dryers...I love it all. @mirage Thanks Best wishes with all that paperwork, I would feel irritated and rebellious against all that, too, and would have to figure out how to contain my excess emotion, just to move one step in front of the other. They shouldn't even ask people to do all that paperwork. Totally inconsiderate and inefficient. I'm sure there must be a simpler way! As for the caregivers... I've been thinking of Pluto in Capricorn, how it opposes Cancer and how it seems to be really hard on the families. As for detachment, all it means is detaching from that which is not useful and good to be attached to. IP: Logged |

The clearest portion of the Rudhyar essay is found in the second paragraph: quote:
It has seemed clear to me for many years that to increase the quantity of information leads most often to a loss of well-focused perception — and that what is most needed is not so much a vast array of surface elements and charts as a penetration in psychological depth based upon relatively few and simple facts.
I suspect Rudhyar was looking to his own chart for the original concept here: natally he saw Moon 24 Aquarius was applying to Mercury at 4 Pisces and understood that his many perceptions and intellectual tendencies and saw an early life imprint that teased out this concept. Look at the following paragraph in his essay: quote:
As I see it, astrology is essentially a discipline of thought, a way of discovering the order which is inherent in all existence, but which so often eludes us because of our natural lack of perspective upon our everyday life experiences.
It is interesting that he uses the term "discipline" before "thought." For when we look at the Moon's total course after his birth it first contacted Saturn by parallel. Thus we must bring in the declinations again to see something the longitudes of the flat wheel chart cannot show us. In this way we fulfill the next sentence in his essay: quote:
It [astrology] is a way to see through the complexities of our life and to obtain a grasp, indeed a vision, of the basic rhythm of our individual existence.
