Hi y'all, I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but I wanted to get everyone's feedback. I've noticed that the house Venus is in has more pull than the sign, but the sign still affects the house. I was wondering if anyone else agrees with this or has a differing opinion?Like with me, I'm an Aquarius Venus in the 4th, and I look for partners to settle down with, to have roots and to have a home with. However I do see where my Aquarius comes in because I used to go through guys like bread in butter. If they couldn't give me what I needed they didn't need to be in my life. I also am quirky in how I see gender roles in a relationship. I don't like gender roles, if we both are working and doing household chores that's all I care about. We can both raise the children and work. That could be due to my IC in Aquarius and my experiences with the gender-roles between my parents being flipped in the beginning of my childhood though. Anyways, what do you guys think? ------------------ "Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace." -Dalai Lama IP: Logged |

I think the sign has an affect to our personality and the house has an affect to what we are focus on when in interaction or developing relationship with other people.Mine in 3rd house and my Venus is very focus on communication matters when in love and in relationship with others. The sign itself gives me a sensitive and dreamy personality when in love. The quality of my Venus sign is in me and the quality of my Venus house is in me with others. IP: Logged |

I've never looked at this like that before, thank you, that made complete sense to me! So the house is what you focus on in love and interactions, and the sign is your personality. ------------------ "Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace." -Dalai Lama IP: Logged |

Thanks Ami! I guess I just have never really related to my Aquarius Venus. I have always wanted commitment and to find a husband to build a life with. I feel like that's definitely due to my Venus in the 4th house. I do see some Aqua Venus qualities in myself, but I don't really identify with it unless it's about being with your best friend and having an intellectual connection. I have had many boyfriends though until I found my current SO, so I guess I can see that------------------ "Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace." -Dalai Lama IP: Logged |

This has been on my mind lately and I can personally attest to your experiences. Everything a Venus in Aries is, I am not. I cannot relate to that sign for the life of me - the "brashness", the fact it's in detriment, it's lack of "grace in love" and the general flightiness associated with it.. not me. However, it's in the 7th house. Now a Libra Venus? THAT describes my love style and experiences to a T. Funny how we both have these thoughts about house importance pertaining to our Venuses! Of course aspects modify it too but obviously my Venus can't aspect anything else to make it more Venusian besides a 7th or 2nd house placement. IP: Logged |

I am an Aquarius Venus in the 4th and honestly the description of Cancer Venus fits more according to my desires than an Aquarius Venus. I've always wanted a deep, intimate relationship with someone and often I find it difficult trying to find the right person for me. However, I also have Mars in Scorpio in the first, and since I'm also a male, I could be speaking through that as well, but the Cancer Venus archetype definitely fits. ------------------ Aquarius Sun, Merc, Venus, Uranus, Neptune Scorpio Mars conj. it depends. venus in its ruling sign is gonna show thru, especially if in a not very strong house.. and when venus is placed angularly and in its own house, again its influence will be strengthened. my venus is in scorpio conj my DC as well as pluto.. because its such a heavy house placement I can only relate to the serene side of venus for so long. I'm very Venusian and have strong qualities of the planet, but I cannot deny its influence in sign, scorpio fits me to the T and since its my chart ruler it makes all the difference. IP: Logged |

I was thinking that. I feel them both. I'm not saying this is every case but I think that I feel house first. Not more... first. I start off all dreamy and idealistic (12th) and soon the Virgo kicks in, sometimes to the point that I'm no longer interested. IP: Logged |

I have cancer Venus in my 9th house conjunct my MC. I definitely don't relate fully to my cancer Venus but I do to a certain extent to sag. I feel like it's more fiery than its water sign. Plus it's on my MC so it's very prominent in my working life. I need to relate to someone who shares my views on life. I also get bored easily if I get stuck in the same old routine in my relationships. I need adventure and excitement to mix things up but still with that security behind it. Also, don't forget your duad and dwad. They would definitely colour your Venus too! Mine are in Taurus and Aquarius. Which is also why I feel more detached than a typical cancer Venus. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/234269.html IP: Logged |

I've thought about this. I believe I have traits of both Venus in 5th house and Venus in Taurus. Venus in Taurus probably has a bigger pull than the house, but this could be due to my Sun in Taurus emphasizing Taurean energy in my chart.IP: Logged |

I also have Aquarius Venus in 4th, I'm dreaming about someone with who I will settle down, but at the same time he must give me enough space to breath when I need it, and must be friend and lover at the same time, and to have a lot in common with me, my soul mate. My chart is almost all water and air and it's hard to me sometimes to balance it, at one moment I want nurturing, at the other I'm running away from it. IP: Logged |

Huh, I'm glad I'm not the only one. Your experiences are very interesting too since Aries (1st house) is opposite the Libra (7th house) so it really means something that you feel the same way I do. ------------------ "Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace." -Dalai Lama IP: Logged |

I feel the same way! I identify so much with a Cancer Venus. Maybe Venus in the 4th has a stronger influence than other Venus placements.

I can relate. I 've told people that ...I have venus in Aries, 2nd house. I relate much more to the venus in Taurus description. Since so many people attest to this there must be something to it. Although I would blend both placements I.e. if you are venus in Aquarius in 4th house look up venus in Aquarius AND venus in cancer descriptions. Then blend together for most accuracy. This is my suggestion to everyone for all planets. IP: Logged |

I could definitely see it with the 12th house to, its such a penetrating house it seems to take over anything placed there until you work through it. IP: Logged |

Both count. The planet is the energy, the sign is the manner of expression and the house is the "where" the expression takes place.Venus is the energy. And this planet is mostly concerned about well-being and beauty. Aquarius is the manner of expression. So this means that what you define as "beauty" is doing what feels good to you. Even if that means going against established "norms" Now we also need to consider the position of Uranus/ Saturn (the house, sign and aspect) to know firstly what the individual would consider "progressive". And to what extent the person may make that their own personal established order(Saturn) The 4th house is the "where" it is expressed. Since the Ic and the Moon both signify what gives one emotional well-being, the fact that Venus also signifies well-being suggests that any aspect between Moon and Venus may have to be considered as either supportive(trine, sextile, conjunct) or creating inner turmoil(square, opposition) Where is your Moon ? And is it afflicted? If by Saturn or Uranus, the issues of living by your own terms and establishing your own order may be important. This may be the same when Saturn/Uranus aspects your Venus. How you resolve these questions will depend on the nature of the aspects. Squares are challenging and create friction whilst the trine and sextile aspects are supportive. It all works together. idk mine is in gemini in 11th - and i def cant see myself in relationship without friendship, but i dont like my male friends as boyfriend materials so it is weird. A gemini obviously indicates that id prefere smart, funny and talkative guy than moody, quiet and stupid one -- but i have mars in virgo so alot of the mentioned above for gemini can be mirrored - smart atleast And when it comes to me personally and if Venus represents my behaviour and emotions - well it probably does,i also have stellium in gemini with both my sun and mercury there so i must be atleast half of the gemini i should be - if i look at the house and if that suits me,11th is rulled by Aqua - humanitarian, protecting animals and underdogs, individualist, dont see marrige as a necessity(i have also 7th in aqa so maybe thats the reason for this),a feminist,a rebel,a revolutionist ( if i had a dime for every time people told me i am revolutionist i would be rich) anty establishment and so on does also describe me but number of that may be my moon in pisces also IP: Logged |

I believe if Venus conjuncts the house cusp, then the house is stronger than the Venus sign. IP: Logged |
