Good movie to bring up! The thing is pluto in the 12th can relate to her desire to die after losing it all but Scorpio rising could never actually go through with attempting to kill themselves bc they don't believe in giving up ever, it's a form of weakness that they abhor, they may entertain it but it's ultimately beneath them and what they are about.
I relate to her loss n the desire to just end it all....ive wanted to die too many times! But like you said scorp AC wont allow that! I have Pluto on my AC by 3 degrees on 1st house side, so no letting go for me either, that's just selfish n weak! Plus Pluto conjunct Venus. Libra rules my chart so of course love would be what brings me back to life! Esp a love that is so deep that they are willing to fall apart with me just to stay near me or to be with me...for that kind of love i will pick myself up and get myself pulled back together just to save them from falling in my hole. Its like "you were willing to go down for me/with me...but i cant let you fall because i love you!!" Ill save myself because thats how i save you! If he would have fallen apart with her when their children died, she would have been stronger because he needed her and she loved him enough that she'd make sure she was strong enough to be there. But he didn't fall apart, he stayed strong, too strong....so that she felt alone and unneeded and became weaker. Pluto/Venus needs intensity/love/death/strength and rebirth in order to thrive in love, without we are just destructive in love. In the end it was when he started to see life through her pain and hopelessness that she regained strength so she could rescue him....because libra Venus lives to keep the ones they love alive. Esp libra Venus conjunct Pluto or any Venus/Pluto connections. IP: Logged |

I imagine your friends are very important to you and you communicate regularly with them, perhaps you put them up in a pedestal but it would seem you would do a lot for your friends and care a lot about them. Further you care a lot about people in general and people feel they can rely on you. However if you have planets in the 12th as well I would think you are more of a loner and maybe feel overwhelmed by too much social interaction so you keep your circle of friends at any given time in your life very small although you worry about the world and humanity a lot. It has quite a few aspects in general. I would say that those aspects, in combination with house placement do paint a theme for my life. Pisces Sun by itself, not particularly. If my life had a movie theme, it would probably be created by David Lynch (except more mundane; I won't pretend to be quite that interesting...although no one can accuse me of living a dull life).
I agree nobody can accuse you of living a dull life, you seem to like to keep things interesting, well with Uranus trining your chart ruler I would imagine that alone ensures this but love that your sun conjuncts Pholus. I wonder if you feel a little bit out of this world with Pholus in your sun, sun in Pisces and it aspecting Neptune and the 8th house involved and all! Like I would think maybe you might have had some interesting psychic or spiritual experiences! Is that so??? IP: Logged |

Well given your chart does not need to be rectified you would look at what house your sun falls in and the aspects your sun makes and you should be able to identify strongly with the theme that paints for you. IP: Logged |

My chart ruler is saturn, which is in scorpio. Basically, my life overall is like a stereotypical stressful Saturn Return. I've faced so much loss and had to fight for survival. Betrayal is a major theme in my life. I've learned that trust leads to pain and that sometimes a parent can be your absolute worst enemy. A teacher once said to me that she was surprised I had never been suicidal. IP: Logged |

Sun is my chart ruler, which is 3H. (This made me think of this .)I can work with that, though I'm thinking of the book more than the movie. It would be something like White Oleander (though unique to myself). In it (the movie a pale shadow of the book), Astrid moves from one different universe to another as she goes to children's homes, foster homes, and other places. From the book: "And I realized as I walked through the neighborhood how each house could contain a completely different reality. In a single block, there could be fifty separate worlds. Nobody ever really knew what was going on just next door." --White Oleander by Janet Fitch In each place she gained lessons that helped her become the person that she is. Furthermore, she not only adapted and learned, but she was different people at different times (generally the person she needed to be), submissive to one, defiant to another, be sweet or issue sincere death threats with a razor to the throat, treating one adult as a mentor while protective of a particularly naive and needy adult in another home. She could start out as submissive but turn antagonistic later as she gained new perspectives. As for me, it was between the 'rents and Granny, a place that was very similar to what the children's home in the book and movie were based on (which was much worse than either, it was so bad that I believe it was shut down by the state itself), in a krew of runaway kids, among stoners and Deadheads while a runaway (and hitchhiking from Texas to California), and then mixing with so many different fringe subcultures as Y2K neared. After that (and transiting Pluto exited my Sag stellium) I moved more, each place with different lessons and perspectives (as a brief example, I learned the difference between respect for and fear of adults, and parents should want to be respected more than feared, but I wouldn't have been able to learn that had I not lived in very different homes, and sadly many adults never learn the difference between them). I got online to gather more perspectives just as I mixed with many different subcultures and groups, did plenty of research at the library, studied many cultures (modern and historical), dabbled in linguistics (which are essentially concepts--there's a reason many words and phrases can't be easily translated into another language) and in many media genres, and each romantic partnership was very different than than any other I had. I've lived in slums (and on the streets as a kid) and in a lower middle class neighborhood, and I've lived in isolated rural regions as well as large, cosmopolitan cities. In all those places I learn, mix with the neighbors and people I come across. And I weigh what I find on my Scales, and seek to harmonize with both the people and ideas without actually giving up who I am (while at the same time not refusing to adapt, that is, learn and grow). Yes to this for sure! Capricorn Rising people have a life that is basically an ongoing Saturn Return, living out the hardest parts of the Saturn sign, house, and aspects. I think it lets up significantly after the Cap Rising's first Saturn Return. Things will be more so challenging afterwards but not excruciating and harsh. By then, after almost 30 years of endless struggle, things get easier and true success is achieved. It's why I think the actual Saturn Return for Capricorn Rising is usually smooth sailing. It's like the reverse effect because when your life has already been consistently difficult, the only way to go from there is up. ------------------ Check out My Astrology Blog: http://astroarena12.blogspot.com IP: Logged |

I feel you, Saturn in scorpio is no picnic! I have it conjunct pluto my chart ruler in the 12th. The thing with me I suppose is that I have other things in my chart that are good which help balance out a bit this hard tough aspect for me. I am lucky with finding work and when things get really hard if I lose it all my family has my back and I can always move back in with my parents who have an open door policy but they can't protect me from emotional pain. When I went through my last crisis they were there for me big time, is bc of their support that things worked out for me; it I didn't have their support at that crucial time things could have gone drastically differently potentially. Jupiter rules my 2nd house and conjuncts ruler of my 4th house Uranus in the 1st so my parents are like my guardian angels you can say, I can lean on them and this is a big source of support for me; both of my parents are capricorns with venus in aquarius so it makes sense that uranus rules my 4th; also I moved to the US at the age of 10 so it makes sense uranus rules my 4th and that saturn falls in the 12th (immigration, success financially in a foreign country), my mom was big on pushing education on me throughout my life and is very religious so jupiter conjuncting uranus which rules my 4th also makes sense bc of that... (Nice bump hypatia238!)My chart ruler is Uranus. It's in Scorpio in the 9th. All my life I've felt on the edge, looking in - I never really fit in. But with age has come the maturity and self-confidence to own it. I love being slightly odd. I've learned to embrace it and use it as a huge strength. My chart ruler story - weird in the house of philosophy and learning - actually sums that up pretty well. Amelie - is the perfect film story. A quirky outsider watches everyone to bring their lives together in a meaningful way - deeper than skin deep, using the knowledge that other people miss. Ultimately all she wants is to love and connect on her terms. And eventually she does ☺️ IP: Logged |

It's funny that I responded before, and didn't mention the first movie that came to mind when I saw this thread tonight: Practical Magic. That used to be one that I related to. Sandra Bullock's character, specifically. IP: Logged |

Libra rising. Venus in Taurus 8th house, unaspected. Lots of very tight minor aspects though. Exactly semi-square Mercury. Sextile BML. Semi-sextile Jupiter. Semi-sextile Chiron. Sesquiquadrate Neptune. Sesquiquadrate Ascendant. Well, to start with, my Venus is all art, aesthetic and pleasure, and no romance or sex. My movie would be dark and edgy but languid and sensual. It would be opulence with a slowly creeping undertone of horror. A fairly tale castle or decadent garden falling into slow decay. Bizzare but beautiful aesthetics. Perhaps Film Noir without the sex, or that strange movie I once saw with the time-lapse photography of decaying fruit, A Zed & Two Noughts, but without the romance... or Lars von Trier's Anticrist, but ignoring all the relationship drama, sex and violence. Leo Asc-Sun Cancer 11H sq Pluto, trine Scorpio Uranus/NN. I cannot express how MUCH, I love murder mysteries, cop stuff, detective stuff etc etc!! I’ve, most likely, watch every single movie/series ever made about that stuff!! I regret with my fullest being that I didn’t continue pursuing psychology so that I could have ended up a Forensic crime investigator!! But now in hindsight, I’m not sure I’d be able to mentally handle that type of career...I’m a sponge for misery :-/ IP: Logged |
