Right.. Well, I can try..
For those of us, who, for some reason, are trying to constantly "evolve" (that sounds too grand, but it's more like a home improvement project in this case) - we can try to incorporate or work on those parts of ourselves that *seem* to be outside the realm of what we've been accustomed to.

They may or may not be. But what happens is the struggle to get *there*, to make an effort to gather those remaining values/experiences to ourselves in our quest to be whole. As whole and sane as we can ever hope to be, that is..all things considered.

Like taking another semester to get those last 3 credits you need (or think you need) to graduate. You can't see your record, you don't know if you have them already or not. And in the journey, you've lost track of how many credits you have.

That's where the term "overcompensate" originated in my head, I suppose. We convince ourselves we don't have it, so we try extra hard to get it. We may discover along the way that it was inside us, a layer waiting to be peeled back. Or that it was something we had to stretch and grow to make part of us.

Did I just make it worse instead of better?
Something's happening to my mercury these days!
