Are you depressed a lot? How was your relationship with your mother?

My new baby has this in her chart and I'm worried as I myself was depressed a lot as a child and especially as a teenager. I have lots of squares from Saturn, including one to my Sun, though none to my moon.

Also does this placement usually indicate a coldness or inability to express emotion? Does it ever mean anything that doesn't sound heartbreaking?

I have had a lot of depression in my past. It made me live in the past. Not wanting to do things or start over. I failed to see the miracle in each day.
I got diagnosed a few years ago for something I most definitely do not have. I must have been going through a phase. I truly believe it is because of the depression . When you are miserable with circumstances you don't see clearly. Your memory sucks because you didn't care enough to bother with fully being there. Just that getting by feeling

Anyways I'm on anti depressants and caffeinated up. My life is great...
If a moon Square Saturner gets on anti depressants they will behave like a moon conjunct Saturner. No lie

I'm really close with my mother. She also has this aspect

I am a very successful person.
It was hard to get to where I am but I did it.

Most moon square saturners are hard to fully open up emotionally as they can't take that let down rejected feeling. They don't jump into things

I am very much a Libra and very much 5th house. It's obvious house 5th house I am because of my ego. Point being that something I have noticed is that with me and love
I don't jump and I absolutely hate to rush into it. I like to fall in love slowly over time. That sounds more like a Venus aspect comparison but the truth is it's also how I'm expressing myself emotionally. A lot of times I have been very close to a single man and I would want to become something more, but he sees me only as a friend. And that's because it took so long for me to open up and feel those emotion and realize I actually did love him truly

These other non moon square saturners don't get it lol

Im also not physically affectionate with most people. At all. That's probably just me. Moon square saturners who have had bad experiences are maybe like this. It could also be my part schizo affective disorder ruining my judgement.

I just don't like to get too affectionate because I feel it's unnecessary. If someone is sad I might give them a hug or if I'm in love with someone and they are sad I will comfort them but to just hug someone at random that I am not partnered with is absurd

Thank you for replying, Desiring! I totally get the falling in love slowly thing. I have Saturn square Venus and I have never done short relationships. Just out of curiosity, is there anything that gave you those Saturn qualities, like not wanting much affection, or do you feel they were ingrained into your personality?

Relationship with my mother was bad. It's ok now.

I get sad when bad things happen, get angsty sometimes, but so far I haven't been depressed.

Idk, I have a pretty afflicted moon, square a bunch of things, save for a trine to jupiter. And I don't have issues expressing emotions, probably because my moon is in the 3rd, so emotions expression is pretty important to me. What saturn bring is responsibility. I'm emotional, but have never been an emotional hot mess and make it other people's problem.

It also manifests as circumstances/situations where I have to "keep cool" or ice out my emotions. So expressing emotions can be a luxury sometimes. Needless to say, I don't really like having to do so, but at the same time, it more or less has been a necessary ability and has served me well in more than one occasion.

I'm saturn dominant, so a lot of these things might just come from my saturn influence, and not necessarily from moon/saturn alone.

traditionally, it is a marker for depression. The person with this aspect tends to struggle with depression on and off.

A few things to consider are, how close the aspect is, what are the houses where the squaring planets are located, the signs involved, etc...

People with this aspect tend to view their mother as cold and unloving. So as the mother of a child with this aspect, keep this in mind and see the ways in which you can mitigate that.

These are both points I'm worried about, and will keep watch of while she's growing up. However, I'm super emotional and extremely loving especially with my family. Her moon is in Pisces (I'm a Pisces) in the 6th house squaring Saturn in Sag in the 3rd. My husband is a Sag...could it show tension between parents?

Interesting...Saturn in the 3rd and in Sagg is in one of the least harmful positions, so that's a plus.

Also her Saturn is in a sign ruled by Jupiter which is one of the rulers of her moon. Is Saturn also squaring her Neptune which is also possibly in her 6th house?

^^^ (Continued) It looks like she possibly has Jupiter in the 12th, acting like an angel over her shoulder, so she should be fine, as it also rules her Pisces moon.

I think all those things might lessen the depressive quality of saturn square moon for her.

Jupiter is in the 1st conjunct her Asc and Neptune is in the 6th conj her Desc, squaring saturn. Can she at least catch a break through Jupiter's optimism?

Jupiter conjunct ascendant is nice. It will make her naturally optimistic and buyoant. Alsoo, being in Virgo, she might be spared the excess poundage that could come with that aspect.

Lastly, we never know how someone will handle their charts. So while one may be aware of certain aspects, it is good to refrain from speaking gloom and doom over a young soul's chart. Babies pick up on our anxiety and worries and fears. Just hold your baby in your highest mind and enjoy the process of being her mom.

What do you mean by:
"If a moon Square Saturner gets on anti depressants they will behave like a moon conjunct Saturner."

That is an interesting statement.

Another Moon Square Saturn Thread!!!
I have Moon Square Saturn and I am Plutonian and Saturnian (more Plutonian though).

I have depression (for about 6 years, possibly longer).

My relationship with my mother is interesting/ok. Unlike a lot of harsh Saturn placements; I was never abused. Both parents were protective, especially my mother. Growing up she never felt loved and was the black sheep of her family; so she made damn sure that I felt loved and protected. The only thing about my relationship with her is she is not emotional at all and I am.

I am realizing I am the emotional one out of my family and I don't like it. I have Scorpio Moon on top of having Moon square Saturn. I also have Venus in Pisces & Moon in my 3rd House. All my life I've been suppressing my emotions, trying to appear to be "strong".

I think Moon square Saturn is not necessarily an inability to express emotion (though there is coldness). But not having the proper tools/training to express your emotions in a healthy way. It isn't natural and it requires training/reflection.

Positive healthy emotions is a strength not a weakness.

In regards to your new baby. Just love her. Figure out her natal chart and give her what she needs. If you can't do that; just support her. Don't shame her and don't put her in an environment that is not good. Be responsible/don't neglect her.

Also help/love/work/take care of yourself. This is gonna sound weird but be a bit selfish, in the sense of living as fully as possible. If you have dreams pursue them. IF you are unhappy change it. Don't let your own insecurities/failings/fears rub off on your baby.
Be brave, do what you love, universe will support you. <3

I have a very strong Moon square Saturn. I have suffered from depression all my life and sometimes go through heavy bouts of depression, but it has - over time - in Saturnian fashion, made me much more emotionally resilient. Even though I can fall into depressive states pretty easily, every 14 days or so, I also have way more emotional control than I used to or expect from myself as a Pisces Moon. My Moon-Saturn square tells myself to snap the **** out of it or calm down if I'm overwhelmed with feelings.

I'm certainly not cold though, and I'm not afraid to love. I think that has more to do with ascendant and venus, possibly.

I did also have a very very strained relationship with my father. This is a real thing for Moon square Saturn. His saturn also sits on top of my sun. Karmic af. But my father definitely does not approve / hates when I am deeply emotional. It took him a long time to understand, nevermind be tolerant, of my emotional being.

*Edit, I totally love my mom. We've had fights but never serious problems. She's a badass. Best of luck to you :* Congrats on your new baby! Don't worry, just love <3

If you have this aspect and you experience depression, would the signs that the moon and Saturn are in affect how one feels this?

A friend and family member both have this. But the friend has their moon in Gemini, square Pisces Saturn. The family member has Taurus moon square Aquarius Saturn.

Moon opposite Saturn friend i knew had Taurus Moon/Saturn Scorpio and externally he is a very chilled guy.

Maybe he does deal with depression and self-loathing? I cant say. But he did have a step-mother and am not sure how his relationship with her was- as he rarely talked personal problems.

My dad has Moon/Saturn conjunct in Cap and he didnt think too highly of his mom;thought of her as cold and distant.
