Most of the men in the family? Was incest involved? I would love to know the rest of her chart.

I once read with this aspect, that if the 5th house is involved then it can lead to promiscuity. This applies to a girl i know who has venus in scorpio square uranus in aquarius. Her venus is in the 5th house and she has slept with a bunch of guys.

Hi ChildofVenus – I have the same configuration as your friend: Venus in Capricorn, squared by Uranus in Libra and Sun in Aquarius. I don’t sleep around, I’m not polyamorous and I would never hurt somebody I care about intentionally.

Maybe it’s the Moon-Saturn conjunction grounding me - but I don't mess about in others' relationships; sleeping with members of your own family is a choice that you know will hurt another and that’s not a choice made by Venus-Uranus but by the person.

Before anybody starts to think that it equates to not caring about people….!

Am I afraid of commitment? Yeah probably, certainly I am claustrophobic in all the metaphorical contexts of the word. I don’t like the idea of ‘missing out’ either but….I’m not sure the familiar relationship set-up has any use in modern society.

Together forever is a happy accident, not something which can be predicted or expected. Gone are the days when a woman with children is homeless and penniless without a husband, or that a divorcee is ostracised and loathed. Marriage has no practical importance, and without such why make promises you may not be able to keep.

I can’t bear to lie to anybody, so I try to keep my thoughts and deeds as pure as possible so that I never have to. I've never been unfaithful and don't plan to ever be, but it's true that the creativity has been dampened down by past relationships...

Oh and I wouldn’t change a thing. Venus square Uranus is so creative I can spend a whole day alone laughing at my own jokes… ;-)

My s.o has moon/mars/venus square uranus. The square is in mutable (virgo-sag). There is some "uranian" traits in his love style - likes his space...etc... Still, the mutable energy makes it very different from the fixed aqua venus.

I can relate to a previous post about two people with such uranus influence doing well together (I have moon square uranus, sun/venus conj uranus). With the kind of lifestyle we have, it's likely that being together with other people who don't have such energy would have been difficult.

I would agree with Ami on this one.

I would say that they do have some similarities, but are ultimately very different. Venus in Aquarius can settle down and be committed, especially if it's in a Earth or Water house (but not the 12tu) Venus square Uranus struggles settling down and committed to one person for a long time. Both want their independence, but I feel that Venus square Uranus is a little more about adamant on not having any restrictions on their independence. Also, like I said before the house Venus in Aquarius in also matters a lot, mine for example is in the 4th house and I believe that's why it's easier for me to commit and want to settle down and have a partner to share a home with. However, with the aspect Venus square Uranus there really isn't a balance like a house placement, it's full Uranian energy clashing against Venus energy and that leads to problems

No way! Not for myself. Exclusivity is very important to me in a romantic relationship. I do admire people who are honestly and openly poly, though. I think lying and cheating are terrible things to do to a partner for any reason (or to another person, if you're helping their partner cheat)---being honest about wanting an open relationship is the much more loving thing to do.

For me, when i'm in a romantic relationship, I need to know that my partner and I are both committed to being exclusive with each other, BEFORE we even move forward towards seeing if we have long-term potential. I also need to be able to openly and honesty discuss how we'll both handle situations that challenge those boundaries.

I just don't think I'll ever want to get married. My longest relationship was of 9 years and near the end I started to get tired of it. It was nice at first because I was comfortable. I'm surprised I stayed in the relationship that long though. The guy I was with wanted to get married and have a family. There were even times I would just flat out tell my family I wasn't going to marry him. They would ask me why and I couldn't give them an answer.

But at least you could reflect about it within yourself, in the way that makes sense to you.

Whatever you do, dont take it too literally, cause this could damage the way you view relationships. You could function really well, find the right person and never think about this again. But at least freedom, independence and originality could be some of the themes for you in a relationship.
