This is the picture of her ring posted just days before being robbed. The thieves were specifically targeting this ring, so her flaunting of wealth did make her a target.

That's the same mentality as "That girl should've known not to dress like that, she was asking to get raped." It's just to a lesser degree. Celebrities post pictures wearing expensive things LITERALLY everyday and don't get robbed.

The whole thing is just so random. And people are actually mad they're not getting refunded for the small portion of Kanye's concert they missed when he only had 20 minutes left. Unbelievable.

On a separate note what would be the motivation for her getting attention? They are everywhere all the time no matter what. They have deals, endorsements, Kanye is supposedly "bankrupt". What would she gain from setting up a robbery that she doesn't already have? Insurance money? (Sincerely questioning this). The only thing I can think of is how they were going to cancel KUWTK and now maybe they'll use this to prolong it.

Lol, how does "this is what she tends to do, based on media reporting and her own social media antics." equate to "I hate Kim because she's rich and famous" ?

Don't put words in my mouth.

Exactly!!!

I think there is a fine line between being reasonable NOT displaying too much wealth (to be on the safe side) and well, honestly?
I know the world is how it is, but what a bad place to be in to have to HIDE (yourself, your belongings whatever) so you will not be made a TARGET.

and if you donīt hide, it`s your fault that you will be assaulted, raped, murdered, whatever?
SEriously? THAT is the line of thinking?

Congratulations, humanity! You`ve become REALLY evolved!

I know that not everyone thinks like that, I know that it is reasonable to NOT walk alone through that dark alley (though I SHOULD be able to do that without even thinking about it), but it just ****** me off, how things are getting twisted.

Not to mention her entire show is pure smoke and mirrors - every detail is publicized to the fullest extent from her marriages/divorces, her family feuds, her relationship with Kanye, the birth of her children, every magazine cover she lands, every spat she has with another celebrity.. all blown out and made heavy-handed through the corny lens of reality TV.

So finally, when a dire and serious situation actually happens to her, one tends to react as they would with anything Kardashian related. Surely this "must be a farce", because everything they do has just been camp (to the fullest extent of the genre).

Without meaning to, she's turned herself into "the boy that cried wolf" - all of the frivolous drama of her past makes this serious circumstance of hers now seem unbelievable.

Anyway, my sincere opinion is that violence against women - any kind of woman with any kind of background - is unacceptable and should always be taken very seriously.

That being said, I can understand why people would find this incredulous given the type of "celebrity" she has always been.

I believe you summed it up perfectly.

"Thinking" is an overstatement. More like a thoughtless reaction.

If people say she is responsible for that terrifying event, just because she wore an expensive ring, to me it is the same exact thing as saying, "She wore a short skirt so of course she was going to get gang raped and murdered!"

Heavily distorted notion of cause and effect.

By this logic any celebrity walking down the street is fair game for annihilation, and it would be their own fault they got killed, because hey they should have known there are psychos in their midst who like to kill celebrities.

I don't think she deserved to be held at gunpoint. I felt bad for her.

I'm suddenly hearing stories about her admitting to it being faked, though - if that were true, wouldn't it be all over the news, along with the Trump stuff?
