I was wondering what signs and/or aspects in a natal chart can show a tendency to black & white thinking? I'm pretty sure scorpio is known to be one of the main ones.. is that a thing with all fixed signs?IP: Logged |

Agree with mercury caps, the thinking has a tendency to be fixed and hard to be flexible.IP: Logged |

I have my Mercury in a T-Square with Mars and Saturn, and I have to say that my thinking is not that black and white. There will be times when I go from one extreme to another but my Aquarius Mercury conjunct Neptune wants to explore it all, that includes grey areas. It can be though. Mercury in Cap could be one for such. Scorpio is also a sign that can be very black and white with their thinking. ------------------ Scorpio Ascendant Aquarius Sun in 4th Gemini Moon in 8th Check out my blog ya'll: www.electrodgxtalks.wordpress.com IP: Logged |

I can be b&w and then very grey. My fixed signs do feel b&w because it's so thorough to commit to a line of thought, it doesn't much allow for inbetween. I do feel mercury in Aries wants to be b&w out of impatience but isn't necessarily. I'd like to delegate more to that aspect as at least it's b&w purposefully and in action, instead Mercury in Aries rolls wheels furiously only gain further entrenchment in taurean mud 😀 IP: Logged |

I am a master of shades and can see all the gamut of colors!!!! LOL mercury gemini conjunct gemini moon (2 degree orb) square virgo pluto (4 deg org) square virgo uranus exact quincunx neptune exact sextile aries saturn exact conjuct cancer mars (wide orb 8 degree orb)I have been accused of not taking position or sides many times and I just find it so difficult as I can see all the shade of an argument. Sometimes I get frustrated by what I see as FIXED thinking or CLOSED-MINDED. of course, I suspect that those I consider CLOSE-MINDED see me as flaky or hypocritical (the other side of the coin of too much flexibility). I just can keep the paradox hanging there in my mind and see how from different points of view everyone is right... so to the question what make people be black and white? probably just ask to those being less black and white.. do you find a pattern? I see neptune mercury as a winner. mercury piscis, mercury gemini, mercury libra. I suspect that ANY person even if mercury is in TAURUS having neptune in aspect to mercury will be able to see colors IP: Logged |

When I think about black or white thinking, I think of all or nothing thinking, and when I think of all or nothing, I think Saturn or Pluto. So, probably Saturn/Pluto in opposition to Mercury, maybe? IP: Logged |

hum, saturn & pluto? let me think! saturn give structure to thinking process. he does not like non-articulated, lack of logical thinking. and maybe once once an idea has critalized (because after the thorough saturn has gone through all the process of testing and finding evidence for all statements) it may become RIGID and not able to see anything else. this makes sense to me. it is hard to give up a belief that has been hard to get into. conversely, it may happen that saturn-mercury person is just hearing too much non-sense and because he is old and has gone through all that thinking process, then dismiss other ideas as childish... I could see how saturn can make thinking rigid and probably without more compensating elements may make someone black and white as per pluto.. thinking gets deep and passionate-obsessed about something. no superficial thinking here and it may perceive as threat when someone offer an alternative view. I can see how passionate and black and white pluto-mercury can be. yes... IP: Logged |
