S/he tries to control which stores to go to, what to eat, when to laugh, when not to laugh, when to shower and when to....you get the picture.
And when things cannot be controlled, s/he completely breaks down as if their entire existence has imploded.

I'm talking about a group situation obviously

hehe that's what makes you nonecontrolling and neutralizes the effect of your sun/moon/pluto connection.

you may not be controlling yourself, but I bet you still dislike being controlled.

This behavior sounds like two girls i went to school with. Both were very controlling of their friends and couldn`t stand it when someone disagreed with them. Both girls had scorpio moons conj pluto and both have venus in aqua too, lol. Leo placements esp in hard aspect to pluto can be very bossy and controlling too ime.

I can post the chart of someone my husband works with that has some serious control issues.

She has Mars conjunct pluto exact in virgo with pluto and mars squaring her moon conjunct venus in Gemini.

Pluto gone mad, not just mad, uber mad! Saturn too comes to mind, but would Saturn alone be enough? probably not.

Strong Virgo or Saturn close to a luminary would be my guess.

Also a Saturn/Mars hard aspect (thinking of my mother with the tight conjunct in Aries - everything else is lighthearted in her chart but oh boy does she throw a fit if she isn't able to orchestrate something..)

Person I'm thinking about has:
Mars square Moon, Venus, Pluto (Pluto op Moon, Venus)
Sun sq Saturn

Can this cause it??

My mom is very controlling. She's a Virgo Sun 10th house, Scorpio Ascendant, and has a bunch of natal Saturn aspects. Also Pluto conjunct Sun.

Her Mars is also conjunct my Moon, and her Saturn squares my Sun. At least I feel she's controlling towards me.

She doesn't "get" anything that I like, our tastes are foreign to each other. Very critical of everything I've done or had my whole life.

I love my mom, but this quality of her really taints my love for her.

My sympathies.
My mom's a Virgo Sun-Pluto conjunct too. I know exactly what you mean. She would even try to force things that cannot humanly be forced.

OP,
Yeah, perhaps that holds true in some cases. Sun-Pluto conjunct people - in their not-so-healthy expression, may try to bend people or situations through sheer will power (they have a lot of it). One needs to be equally strong to stand up to it. The opposition & square might function differently (perhaps a back n forth or feeling a constant pressure of outside forces trying to "change" you and not giving in to it, respectively?). But that is just one possibility.

Also, do you mean controlling of people or circumstances ?

I think, more than anything it's their sense of personal comfort/security. Wanting to control things, when it's not about the power trip, is about a deep-seated need for security and knowing "what's what" to control the outcome. Outcomes of minor things too. Leaving it up to chance, or fate, makes them antsy. The uncertainty makes them antsy.

Has this person not had control over crucial aspects of their life growing up? Such needs can find outlets in trying to control everything else. Because they could not control what they wanted to. A type of overcompensation. If they were dominated by or witnessed a domineering personality at home.

Conversely, someone who has always, always been used to getting their way - might not comprehend why it does not translate into the real world. They can become petulant if people don't want to do the things they do, or if they're denied any "wants".

Could be. I've got Sun-square-Saturn. The square might cause the Saturn to be over-expressed, trying to structure *everything* we come across.

It must be her saturn square your sun and mars aspecting your moon, wow that feels rough!!

I am a virgo with scorpio rising, plus jupiter conjunct Uranus in the 1H and moon in Pisces and I hate been controlled but I mind my own business and let others be bc that is what I want from others.

Elysia: I think (emphasis on the thinking..) this person has been very controlled in childhood and is now lacking self esteem and thus tries to control outcome of everything and everyone :-/ Spontaneity will result in emotional outbursts. All of the times. Except the few times when "I'm easy going let's go with the flow" is badly feigned.

True. There can be an excessive fear of just letting oneself go with the flow. Because in the past, when they trusted grown-ups or circumstances enough to let themselves go, it always ended in disaster. So, they figure - things only go right when I'm in charge of every last detail.

Also, if they've been controlled, they might be in turn emulating that behavioural model.

It's not un-fixable though. Depending on their age and relationship with you. Maybe you can, little by little, show them that things aren't so bad when you don't plan things out. A few really "good" spontaneous experiences might open up their thinking to accept this.

Interesting, thanks for the honesty.

My partner has sun conjunct saturn with sun in the 6H, Mars in scorpio and Taurus rising, he can be controlling in some ways. Like he likes there to be a place for everything and there to be consistency in were things are put away. I will change things and just put things were it feels right at the moment lol and that drives him crazy. Over the years I have learned to try to be more mindful about such things so he feels more at peace.

When I first met him I use to call him a music nazi, he has sun in Libra in the 6H conjunct saturn in Libra in the 5H and he is a musician and artist but he is so peculiar and picky about his music and he feels his taste in music is superior to others so I would poke fun at him and call him music nazi jokingly ofcourse and with love.

@hypatia238, I can totally see how a Libran could earn the title of a music nazi.
Ditto with food & art and anything with aesthetics involved.
