People often say that I am intelligent, but I don't think I am myself, well not on a "daily basis"... I do tend to think a lot though, and regarding any "bigger" or "advanced" subject I tend to understand things Its funny cause I'm a virgo, so I would have thought I was more into smaller details, but I often find myself caring a lot more about bigger visions, philosophy and the big picture

I guess the coment about planets in 6th is the resonance with Virgo. being virgo ruled by mercury it makes sense. however, one thing I have observed about mercury virgos (this assuming someone has no other factors influencing that) is that virgo tend to be very logical, sequential, matter of fact and detail oriented. these are good qualities in the thinking & scientific process.however, when it is about creativity and insights, I am not impressed. Unless that mercury in virgo has other aspects such as uranus or neptune, I suspect that virgo will not have any EUREKA.. my experience not validated in a wide sample

as regards to your aspects, I believe that you must be intelligent given the placement you mentioned. the stellium in 6th (virgo quality) added to the uranian, neptunian, saturnian, jupiterean aspects gives you a lot of wideness, big picture, capability to keep opposites in your mind until a breaktrough comes, and the focus of saturn with all his logical thinking..

congrat!!!

LOL, look at the aspect of the ruler of mercury.. just keeping some hope. where is your mercury? i have met smart people with only one aspect to mercury, but they were libra mercury... as with any planet, the more aspect you have to a planet, the more colours and talents are available. not always result in people being happier with it is more important

I have almost the same: Merc/Jup (close) both trine Saturn and both square Neptune. But Merc/Jup are in Pisces 5th house...

I did graduate from a gifted program and am multilingual, if that means intelligent (realistically it just means you learn faster and adapt better than average--intelligence is part genetic and part educational attention--there are many things that I struggle with)... but I have no earth in my chart not even by house so I'm creative but can't survive in worlds that demand earth-style behaviour--I have none. I'm very creative but when you lack earth, people generally don't take you seriously so you lack opportunity. I also have Saturn/MC so there's also an oppressive energy on public acceptance.

Can we lie?--I think we are just the same as everyone else. I think lying is mostly socialized behaviour. But, if this relates, many people think I'm lying and don't trust me even though I'm telling the truth. This is a problem in all areas of life.

I think the Merc/Jup square Neptune (Sag H3) helps me see through people and see when they lie because I catch people lying all the time and typically eventually find out later that I was correct.

I'm also really good at bringing out the worst in people sometimes because I think they feel this square energy piercing them and they can't handle someone seeing the truth they don't want others to know, but you can't help what you feel. Blessing vs curse? You see more but you can easily be punished for it.

I should add that my Neptune is Rx and I think that makes a difference because the Neptune energy is going inwards rather than outwards. If it were outwards, perhaps it would be completely different.

Rx Planets change things: http://www.arlenekramer.net/astrology11.asp

Cuz it came up in other replies, Uranus is part of this as well because: Merc/Jup form a double grand tribe with Saturn/MC and UranusRx. People's first impression of me is usually that I am not smart but once they've known me for a while they realize that I'm definitely not what their first impression was. Naive sometimes maybe, though, and definitely all over the place cuz my thoughts jump around a lot.

Mercury-Jupiter is broad, open, inquiring, collecting of information, more believing.

Mercury-Saturn is more focused and capable of problem solving, more critical and skeptical.

Two types of intelligence, at least in potential.

My mercury is conjunct my jupiter in the 11th house in leo.

I tend to think grand and can be a little theatrical at times. I love to tell stories and I will sit like a little kid forever listening to someone elses stories.

Jupiter trine Mercury.

I do alot of information gathering and process information a lot.

From the moment I get up I'm already trying to "connect the dots" on things.

For example the other day I was reading about how home construction projects where I live are slowing and are going on for shorter terms (6 months on average), then I start noticing lots of construction workers are starting to take the buss... I'm thinking that means something, the two are interrelated.

Mercury is my dominant planet so Jupiter-Mercury has a big effect on me. Its almost important that I see things now, make observations now and ideally make the right decisions now.

Its almost like radar for me, seeing whats going on and planning now.

I have an excellent memory. As a young student I excelled. I even graduated 2 years early from High School. I don't feel I am super intelligent though. I feel like I just have a good memory and I am determined.

I have Capricorn--Mercury, Sun, and Moon in 12th.
My mercury aspects are:

Mercury conjunction with Ascendant, Sun, and Moon.

Mercury square Pluto.

Merury trine Chiron.

My rising, Mars, Venus sign are in Aquarius.

I have Mercury Sextile Saturn, conjunct Uranus. Uranus Semisextile Neptune.

Bits and pieces of these aspects describe me.

I also have Mercury and sun square Mars. Descriptions on the Dr. Stanley site for these combos fits me 100%.

While intelligence may be seen early in life and assumed innate, especially when also present in obvious ways in the parents, intelligence can be gained through learning.
Intellectual intelligence is not the only kind. Daniel Goleman wrote a book about Emotional Intelligence. There is also intuition. People focus intelligence in different ways, because there are different ways of gathering and acting upon information at three levels: unconscious, subconscious, conscious.

Smarts can be overrated and tends to pad the ego.

First is expansive and incapsulating, second is contractive and discriminating.

Off topic: and the others?

I do not think these aspects showcase intelligence per se but Merc-Saturn is excellent for specialization in sciences. Merc-Uranus for "jack of all trades" work.

Unfortunately I know an individual with Merc-jupiter and Merc-saturn trine. While having 3 masters degrees, her academic performance is subpar (a lot of effort with meager results), and her way of thinking is quite biased/mob mentality.

Interesting..

Jupiter is easily overrated (inflated), I'm come to consider over the years. Sometimes it's all bluff, even the generosity and warm vibes of Jupiter. Jupiter can be as superficial and graspy as Venus, I dare say.

In academia, there are a lot of channels where datum and tales are absorbed but not critically scrutinised. I'd bet this is where the Jupitarians can be found, prancing around, bellowing out their "wisdom" to fawning ears, lol.
