Not necessarily.

I recall being able to link chapters to songs. Or being able to remember stuff when hearing a song. It doesn't have to be on the subject you are studying

I recall "Dumb blonde" by Dolly Parton as the theme song in recalling Chapter 8 from my Logistics textbook.

You have to know your own memory patterns. I recall/retain things in a weird way.

I wonder if the Mercury sextile Saturn and Mercury conjunct Jupiter would help with the Mercury square Neptune aspect? Isn't seven degrees kind of wide?

There is a thin line between very forgiving and being DELUSIONAL.

My Mom has mercury (Aqua) square neptune, my older sister has mercury (Aries) square neptune, and my partner has mercury (Cancer) opposite neptune.

I know them very well.

Are any of them successful? In regards to attending college?

My Mom were not attending college as at her years, it was too expansive and too far away to attend a college. She came from a farmer family who lived in a village. She is a very lucky woman though, she met my Dad who works in a big oil company. lol. She married young.

My older sister attend college but refuse to take a Master degree. She is the only one, I mean among siblings, who doesn't have interest taking it.

My partner attend college but has no interest to continue the whatsoever study.

Why are you asking? Is there any correlation between finishing (or maybe interest to?) college and mercury square/opposite Neptune?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. If having this aspect will prevent me from learning and remember information in college. And if I will indeed be able to finish.

If you have some determination to finish college, I think you'll be fine.

If you think you might have some difficulty to learn, find someone/people who is able to support you. Do not make a friend with lazy (or not taking life seriously) people in college, as mercury square/opposite Neptune people can be easily affected by the influence of others. It is important to make a friend with people who think practically and always live in reality but also put some care to your imagination.

Both my sister and my partner I believe they remember little about what they have learned in college. lol.

My partner was cheating a lot to finish college as he let himself around similar people. This was happened because none family support he had at the time so he leaned on to bad influence friends most of the time. And also he was in consuming plutonian relationship, so you bet college was not in his priorities as what he told me most of the time he didn't know what he did in college. lol. As personality built up during that age, no surprise he doesn't take college/education like it is important (I'm not saying the most, so..) which is one of another opposition between me and him.

My sister could get through it because education is important in my family and my parents kept an eye on her. lol. She got full support and her roommate was a medical student who always - day and night - learned or opened medical book so she got affected by good influence as they also built great friendship with each other. She told me if she didn't have her as a roommate, she might not finish college. LOL.

My ex best friend has:

Merc (in Aries) squ Nept -2
Merc squ Uranus -1
Merc sextile Saturn -1

He just finished his Masters degree...

He has a horrible memory... I use to have to CONSTANTLY remind him of dates and appts. I use to memorize his schedule to help him with this...

He was constantly changing his mind... and I would catch him in a lot of lies (he didn't mean to lie)

Getting him to communicate/talk things through was extremely painful... usually had to bribe him.

And when he was upset with me he would go for the jugular... which I'm guessing is the Merc squ Uranus

Was always over withdrawing/forgetting to pay bills

He is also a professor at a college and I don't know how he is able to do it with his memory and always being late

Drove me bat **** crazy and I have a Sun conj Neptune!!

I have Virgo Merc square Sag Neptune and I'm not necessarily forgiving but I am skilled to redefine reality the way that correspond to my expectations or wishes. I am able to only see one part about a person which is appealing for me.
I do this all the time, creating my own reality...cannot really live in an objective one...

I have mercury square neptune with a 9d orb so wide. I dont lie, I am overall honest and don't embellish the truth and when I notice people change a story to make it more interesting it irritates me bc I think that is lying, I am very forgiving and I do see clearly people's flaws but choose to focus on their strengths more bc I understand nobody is perfect.

I dont know if it is bc my square is a wide orb but I dont' understand some of the reputation that this aspect has with lying or not seeing things clearly quite frankly.

I do have neptune in the galactic center, maybe that changes things and mercury retrograde in VIRGO. My mercury also parallels pluto and noviles my pluto in the 12th house and I have pluto conjunct saturn so maybe that saturn and pluto influence keeps my mercury grounded.

I do have issues with focusing as I get lost in my own thoughts, I am always reflecting and analyzing, always in my own world pondering LOL but when I am with my clients I listen very attentively and have no issues focusing.

This gives me hope lol I do have somewhat of a good memory. I guess that's because of the Mercury/Saturn aspect. But I forget sometimes and my mind wanders a lot. Sometimes it's hard for me to focus on things I need to learn. I hate it because then I just say forget it. And change my mind wanting to do something else. But I read that people with Mercury square Neptune should avoid giving up on projects so easily. This is something I tend to do which I know is bad.

If you truly want to do something you'll make it work. I have a degree from college, almost graduated with honors but stopped studying because the work was too easy so I graduated with a B average. I'm now back in college this fall taking courses preparing for law school and actually studying this time around and have gotten a couple of As so far. I'm a Pisces Mercury square Neptune in Sagittarius, also a wide square to Sagittarius Uranus/Jupiter.

It's probably the Mercury square Uranus aspect that helps you. I only have aspects to my Mercury from Saturn, Jupiter, Neptune and Mars.

ChildofVenus...

I actually sound like you... lol

I have:
Merc squ Saturn
Merc trine Jupiter
Merc Rx in Sag/6th (I feel it being in SAG and Rx can relate to the Neptune energy)

(no Merc/Neptune)... but I have Sun conj Neptune and Moon inconj Neptune (both exact).

If I didn't have the Merc squ Saturn I would be screwed. lol.

But, lately mine has been getting a lot worst (Im going to be having brain surgery soon and I'm 38)... sometimes I'll be going to the bathroom to get pain meds and it will take me 4-5 trips to the bathroom before I actually remember why I'm going there. lol.

When I had Tr Neptune squ my Merc/conj my MC- I actually went back to school for photography

When I have had hard transits or progressions to Neptune I went back to school for something creative. lol. (and I don't really remember it messing with my memory).

i'm not a very forgiving person, but i do think i lend people a lot of chances. i'm aware i tend to want to view the world as better in a lot of sense than it is, but that's why i pay so much attention to how other people react to me and the world at large. it's something i have to constantly think about though; i've nearly lost my grip on reality enough times to know the dangers of too much wishful thinking and foggy world views.

i don't remember a whole lot of my childhood and i am very good at repressing traumatic events fairly consciously, though.

i can hold grudges forever though, hah. i can put aside my grudges against people with gritted teeth but i know my anger and grudges lurk deep (mars in virgo in 8, though)

i have a 0deg orb 1st house rx neptune in cap square 4th house mercury in aries
