I haven't found much on this subject at LindaLand. Tried to post in Brown Owl subforum and was denied access. Where is the topic most often discussed? Thanks IP: Logged |

Compatibility has a lot to do with the Inner Companion. You can respond to threads in Brown Owl School (just not start new threads). http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum33/HTML/000018.html IP: Logged |

When two Chinese Signs get along great and aren't supposed to (especially romantically), check their Chinese Rising Signs (Inner Companions).IP: Logged |

When the native's rising sign conjuncts another's natal Chinese sign, does that offer good possibilities?Example: let's say you're a Dragon born the hours of the Ox. Dragon and Ox are not normally compatible. Could they be in this case due to the Dragon's hour of birth? IP: Logged |

Oh wow I didn't know they had rising signs in Chinese astrology. If my Chinese sign is Monkey how do I figure out my rising? Is it just like in Western and Vedic where your exact birth time and city determine your rising sign? IP: Logged |

Also, since they use five elements what purpose do those elements in conjunction with your animal sign serve to tell you about your personality? Also, can't it be argued that Chinese astrology is possibly a little broad (I don't want to speak in obsoletes since I've never studied it) since everyone born within the same year would have the same Chinese zodiac sign and thus all the same personality traits? For example I am a WATER Monkey but how is that different from my mom who is a FIRE Monkey?IP: Logged |

Also, can't it be argued that Chinese astrology is possibly a little broad (I don't want to speak in obsoletes since I've never studied it) since it basically states that everyone born from Lunar New Year Day of your birth year (sometime in early to mid Feb every year) to Lunar New Year Day of the next year is elementally and zodiacally the same personality wise? They're basically saying every single individual born from Lunar New Year to Lunar New Year is elementally and zodiacally the same and will inevitably act the same and experience the same events, right?IP: Logged |

SunAscendant, I don't know if we are using the same branch of Chinese astrology but I have used Bazi Chinese astrology for a short time before and I don't think there is an ASC in there. Bazi gives you a rectangular chart with the different elements and animals that make up your birth day, birth year, birth time/hour//minute, and uses that to define your "horoscope". I don't know if these are the same branch of astrology or not. I've never heard of a companion sign in chinese astro before either. I'm very interested to know now!I found this. I suppose this is what they are talking about? http://www.eastrolog.com/chinese-zodiac/chinese-ascendant.php IP: Logged |

Hey, me and my pal i live with both study Chinese astrology i'm a Sagittarian Wood Dog, hes an Arian Earth Dragon .. i don't know too much but the cycles work similar to the tao, cycles of nature, each interconnecting with eachother through an intrinsic network, fire burns wood, water helps wood grow, wood grows in earth etc There are four Bazi pillars in Chinese astrology each resonating with a different area of your life, Year, which most people know, is like your generational sign, there is also month, day and hour, month is your relationship to family, Day is like your western sun sign and hour is like your rising sign ... there is also the life path you are in which changes every 10 years ... determining what your energetic charge is for that period of your life .. the friend i live with, is a Triple Dragon Aries, Aries resonates with dragon energy .. Im a x4wood in Earth Tiger life path you can go into Primal astrology which does basic synergistic combinations of western and chinese, joey yapp on youtube is also good for chinese astrology

I was born in the year of the Horse, but I have always resonated more with Dragon. Later on I found out about the four pillars (everyone has not only a year sign, but also a month sign, a day sign, and hour sign). Long story short, it turned out that I was born on the day of the Dragon. Also, I found out that the day sign is considered much more influential personality-wise than the year sign, so it makes sense why I have always felt more like a Dragon.IP: Logged |

I'm hoping the Chinese New Year of the earth dog brings me a better work environment. I'm to the point where I am willing to disrespect my current job call off "sick" for job interviews. Anyways I'm a metal horse year, metal dragon month, fire sheep day, wood snake hour IP: Logged |

It will be a favorable year for anyone who has metal element signs. I once read though fire and metal are not the most incompatible. Fire can be controlling to metal. Makes sense since heat(fire) can make metal move. Hoping for a better sense of control this year as a 50% Chinese metal being. 😊 IP: Logged |
