I am wondering if Saturn conjunct 5th house ruler can lead to low sex drive or lack of interest in sex.. Please share your experience or observations involving either natal or transits that had this effect... IP: Logged |

Saturn in the 5th can certainly lower interest in casual sexual encounters . But i don't think it lowers the sex drive.The idea would be to minimize the risk and be cautious. Or even look beyond sex for bonding. But sexual attraction and interest in sex can still occur when you have someone like-minded in their approach. Saturn in 5th can find Cap types attractive i.e Venus-Saturn,Cap Venus,Moon /SunCap,Saturn Moon ,Saturn/Asc or Cap rising etc. The maturity these guys usually emanate can be very sexy to Saturn in 5th. Neptune in 8th,Mars in Pisces progression or Mars/Neptune can have the effect(amongst others) of having a person lose interest in sex acts that are entirely physical, question their sexuality,dislike sex's "animalistic" nature and be insistant on romance/sensuality. Even opt to be more voyeuristic in their approach to it than doing it i.e porn. IP: Logged |

Great feedback Aries23, I agree with Saturn in the 5th not been interested in casual sex but still having a high sex drive like my scorpio friend who has a Scorpio stellium with saturn in the 5th.. He has difficulty controlling himself around me, I suppose his moon in aries also contributes to that...he has high sex drive but hates casual sex, has turn girls down who want casual sex. My ex had saturn ruling his 5th conjunct jupiter and he had a high sex drive.. My question is specifically though about Saturn conjuncting the 5th house ruler... I am not talking about Saturn in the 5th house. I mean check your 5th house ruler like lets say you have aries in the 5th house so that means that mars rules your 5th house and then Saturn is conjuncting Mars via transit or natal and this restricts your need for sex or desire nature. IP: Logged |

Not in my case. I have Saturn in 5th conjunct Mars and both planets opposite Jupiter. Maybe these hard aspect make my Saturn not cold at all. I just say that I have a high sex drive, maybe a singleton Saturn in house 5th o conjunct to moon or venus can show asexuality, but in my case, my Saturn aspected by those 2 planets it's hot. Btw, ruler of my 5th house (Aries) is Mars, but I have Mars and Saturn in early Taurus degrees IP: Logged |

Interesting!Would love to hear from asexual people and what they feel in their chart contributes to it...... In your case jupiter opposing your Mars is why you have a high sex drive and saturn there probably is a blessing that keeps you from been promiscuous and having casual sex. IP: Logged |

Hi hypatia, I have my 5th house ruler conjunct Saturn. Venus. I have a high sex drive and get a little "crazy" lol when I don't have it enough. I also have my Mars conjunct Saturn. Hope this helps. IP: Logged |

That's right Hypatia!, I always hate casual sex, and I think that this saturn contribute to began my sexual life until the middle 20s.

I think I'll play devil's advocate for a minute and ask if we consider asexuality to be in the same category as homosexuality or as a personality trait. If we do... It won't show up in our charts. Just like heterosexuality, homosexuality, and skin color do not; asexuality wouldn't show up in charts. If we do not... Then I think it would more likely show up in the 8th house to indicate asexuality or celibacy. It's most likely to be a blended result of influences from the 5th and the 8th. The 5th would rule the heart's desire to engage in pleasurable activities, sex included. The actual act itself though would be governed by the 8th. Saturn in either of these or aspecting planets in either of them would add some restriction and fear to sex. IP: Logged |

I think the musician is right, that asexuality won't show up in your chart. And if someone is not so interested in casual sex, that's hardly asexuality.
Now, for what it's worth, someone I know has Capricorn in the 5th house (Saturn's sign), with their sun in there.
And Saturn is sextile their 5th house in Cap. They are 30 years old, and have never had sex. This person is/was considered asexual by many of their friends.
For lack of a better word, I think the "prudish" nature of Virgo could also be counted. I've noted that many with heavy virgo charts tend to be very selective about who they boink, and often times just won't have sex, especially casual. Other factors are to be considered, of course. Another I know, with Saturn trine their 5th house (in Virgo) is also in their 30's, and has never had sex. (maybe I should get those 2 together lol?)

I want to be clear not wanting casual sex has nothing to do with being asexual.@the musician. I dont put asexuality in the same category as homosexuality.. And 5th house sex is sex for pleasure during the romance phase of the relationship. The 8th house is sex for bonding. If the 7th house is commitment you can look at the 5th house as sex without commitment but during the romance courting phase and the 8th house as sex after commitment. The 8th house is heavier bc taxes, death, joint finances, others people's money, secrets and our psychological known baggage is there... I could see how asexuality is more an 8th house thing come to think of it themusician... Saturn in the 8th house maybe bc the 8th house feels heavy to start with and then you add saturn there or have saturn aspecting the 8th house ruler and maybe this leads to very little to no interest in sex. Idk my partner has venus in leo square mars conjunct uranus in scorpio and he has a low libido. I have venus conjunct mars in leo and have the higher sex drive.I feel the square makes it challenging to express naturally that part of him and uranus been very cerebral cools off his mars in a sense. But he has no issues getting hard, staying hard, or having orgasms or delaying orgasms so he has no sexual dysfunctions but yes not a high sex drive. Perhaps the square can lead to having too much of a sex drive leading to sex addictions or addiction to porn or to a low sex drive. Maybe venus square mars has difficulty expressing their sexuality in a way that venus and mars both feel honored. Like approaching sex focusing too much on physical pleasure or aesthetics forgetting the spiritual and emotional dimensions or putting them as secondary motives for having sex or having difficulty initiating. This sounds like mind over matter. Saturn has a lot to do with fear, so perhaps it's not low sex drive, but blockage due to fear/mental blocks. Shame can play a role to it too.Asexuality is a different matter to me and doesn't necessarily has to be Saturn in the 5th House placements. I think sexuality is very complex/complicated and i consider asexuality natural/on a sexuality spectrum. I need to do more research but perhaps air, neptune, and pluto placements. It's how someone expresses love too. Some are more physical and NEED CONTACT. Others are more MENTAL and NEED MENTAL CONTACT. Regardless gotta think about this more. IP: Logged |

What you say about the square is interesting... Especially about addiction to sex...... I was told as much a few times.
And on the asexuality note - not that I think that it can be foreseen in a chart, BUT, someone I knew who had Aquarius in Mars and Venus had really no interest in sex, and just wanted to be friends with everyone.
He wasn't grossed out by sex or afraid of it or even only interested in sex with a long term partner. It was more indifference mixed with no sex drive. He told me he rarely got boners, and just saw people as friends more than potential sexual mates. I think perhaps heavy aqua could lead to actual disinterest in sex? And with that, perhaps, if there is someone with prominent Capricorn (seriousness), Virgo (chastity/picky), and Aquarius (platonic-friendship), with perhaps Saturn aspecting 5th maybe it would be a a recipe for not wanting to get it on? I consider my mom a prude and she has venus and mars in aquarius not conjuncting and both opposing pluto, she is a capricorn with southnode in virgo.I think the mars in aquarius with other factors can be an indicator of asexuality or lower sex drive maybe...
