Are cancer moons prone to temper tantrums?

For example my silly dad- Leo sun, cancer moon, Pisces ascendant- got super quiet and moody after we said we didn’t like some weird NPR storytelling thing he put in speakers for Halloween. We turned it off because we wanted to listen to Halloween music rather than the weird story.

Anyways, so afterwards he got super moody and was pouting for the rest of the night and responded to us in only short one-word answers. And pretended he was staring at the moon for the rest of the time we were passing out candy. *super dramatic* right?

Is this a cancer moon thing? I mean I know he’s moody but those temper tantrums! Ugh!

They can be super dramatic and make huge scenes but it's mostly emotional drama. Not all Cancer Moons I know are like this.

My sister is a Cancer Moon; she is a severe drama queen. During Christmas one year when we were making cookies she made them too thick, and when my mom and I told her that they weren't going to come out right she took them and started mashing them together, getting all dramatic about it. She makes a scene out of everything and doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut (Mars and Mercury in mutual reception, both aspecting Pluto). She is always attention-seeking and is completely unaware of anyone's emotional boundaries but her own. She can act like she's the only one who has feelings, and if she's not careful she will get herself into some serious **** .

My mom is a Cancer Moon in the 4th and isn't like this. She is very emotional and sweet, but can be prone to mood swings. She gets stressed out very easily and it's obvious in her tone and temperament but she is anything but a drama queen. However, she is sensitive and can get mean if disrespected or insulted, but is not as bad as my sister is by any means. If you do **** her off though she will let you know (Mars and Sun in mutual reception with Sun conjunct ASC in Aries).

Both my Mom and Sister have Aries Mercuries as well, but my sister is a Taurus Sun.

To be fair it sounds like he was very excited to share something with you guys and you all dismissed it, not judging but just pointing out why he shut down.

But yes moon in cancers are sensitive..

I get dramatic as well. Cancer Moon square Mars Libra.

I think Cancer has such "surface level" sensitivity to any sort of criticism( no matter how well meaning).

But it also depends on the method of delivery of that criticism. Cancer reads tone of voice, body language, words used and connotation behind them etc.

They can be extremely particular on how they arr treated. Which makes them the least likely to get on with most people. As they can infer aggression ot an attack where there was "none".

We fail to differentiate that a "no. I don't like what you did" from a "no I don't like YOU". As they both come off the same i.e rejection.

Scorpio Moon also recoils but doesn't show it. So its not just a Cancer who is that sensitive.

If you can see that he is unhappy or broody because of something said, ridiculing how he feels doesn't help things.

Water moons and even Mars are seldom rational and react with feelings. That is their interaction with the world. If you fail to understand this, you will continuously be baffled/frustrated by them.

Passive aggressive and manipulative. That’s my personal experience with these moons and that’s coming from my Cancer Sun! In their defense though, my Cancer Sun is a much colder and detached Cancer Sun due to the fact that’s it’s in 11H opposite Cap Moon which is probably why I can’t, and won’t, relate.

Very moody. Women have it worse than men.

re: recoil. I noticed Leos so recoil when hurt.

agree. passive aggressive, (emotionally) manipulative, vindictive & super sensitive. they feel hurt or offended so easily and even after you apologized to them or explained that you had no intention tu hurt them, they will still pay you back they never forget or forgive (completely) anything.

Yeah, I know he’s like this so I know how to handle him. I’m a Pisces moon so I understand his sensitivity.

We weren’t rude about it, but we just said it’s too scary for the kids, it was like a WWII nazi hunting story, with scary voices. We just said it was too scary for the kids and we thought going back to the music which we originally had on was more appropriate.

I love him but sometimes his moods, ugh!

My cousin has a cancer moon, and she has never ever had a temper tantrum. She does get sulky, and sometimes just withdraws until she feels better, but she's quite private for the most part.

The positive with him is he is a great cook! He’s our family chef, he cooks for my mom every night!

And I don’t know if it’s the cancer moon or the Pisces ascendant (or both) but he tears up when he gets sweet greeting cards or watches tv shows that are sad lol. But his Leo sun is too proud to show it, so he tries to act like he’s fine lol.

He sounds adorable!

My partner too has moon in cancer and he is the cook, he also gets teary during movies or shows along with me (I have moon in pisces) which I like.

He has temper tantrums but when they do happen they are more intense than your father's as he has mars in scorpio conjunct uranus sesquisquare Moon.

I feel moon in cancer temper tantrums are the result of attachment issues connected to the mother! (not getting enough attention and validation from mother). I feel for people with moon in cancer relationship with mother may have a stronger impact, mind you our relationship with our parents impact all of us strongly but I wonder if for moon in cancer folks the impact of the relationship with mother is even stronger for better or for worse.

@polkadotstars Its good that you understand him and accept his emotional up/downs. We not all bad.

I see a lot of people do not like Cancer Moon. That is fine. We are not to everyone's taste

To add on. My Moon in Cancer makes it tricky to establish a close relationship with anyone.

It could be that Moon is in the 3rd? But it complicates matters of intimacy . So I am grateful for the love/understanding received from Virgo/Pisces Moon people.

Aries23- yes, thankfully he has a Pisces sun/moon daughter who understands him! Lol :-)
My mom doesn’t get it, she’s a Sagittarius moon- abrupt and brash with her honesty. She’s like “what did I say??” However she’s just as sensitive (moon in 4th), so sometimes I see them feed off each other. One will say one thing and the other will take it super personally and it will go back and forth to where they’re both super sensitive and upset about one tiny little thing lol.

I only know one Cancer moon and he cries when he gets drunk. LOL

I find water moons cute. I just think they need hugs and re-assurance.

Hmm...might be something to this! One Cancer Moon I know has a horrendous, lying bit** mother that treats her only child as a “handbag” to show off. When she’s in the mood for it, HENCE, child now is thirsty for attention and does everything elsewhere to get it. The other Cancer Moon has a lovely mother BUT, there’s a faint line which may or may not have been crossed between them that shouldn’t have been crossed and he now can’t take one step to either direction without mother’s consultation.
