Hi guys,

Saturn is transiting my 12th house at the moment and will conjunct my natal moon soon (1 Degrees Capricorn) and will pass my Ascendant at 5 Degrees Cap.

Anyways I am really feeling the conjunction to my Moon already and it really came over me all of a sudden.(Past month or so) At first I was thinking this must be the 12th house transit but I'm now thinking it must be the Moon. My moon rules my 7th house and I'm not in a relationship so it's not affecting me that way.

I am feeling extremely sad at the moment - like I've been down many times before -having heavy Capricorn in my chart, especially during the winter but I'm feeling depressed and hopeless - finding it hard to leave bed, loss of interest in everything. Living in my head and daydreaming to run away from responsibilities. No focus.Just a general feeling of what's the point.

I would really appreciate some advice from people who have experienced this transit. I'm becoming really frustrated with myself and my stupid unhealthy habits but also finding I can't help but going into them. I went to a councillor and it was quite helpful - like I'm so aware that being negative isn't helping me and is only making things worse but I can't stop!

Feeling like I'm daydreaming my life away.

It's a very isolating transit, yes.

Sorry to hear that, I had this transit when Saturn was in Scorpio.
My moon is in the 6th house. I was a full time student. I wouldn’t say I was depressed around this time. I basically lived off of Red Bull. So that made me pretty feisty about getting all my work done. And very talkative. I also quit smoking when the conjunction got very close to my moon. 6th house is health after all. I was pretty outgoing during this time.

Saturn always lets us know when something cannot go on anymore if it’s not taking us anywhere.
Sorry to hear about the depression. I’ve definitely had transits that have done that to me. Like when Saturn opposed my Venus in Pisces. I was basically depressed for two years during that transit.

12 house has to do with Solitude maybe that’s part of it. Not sure what Saturn is trying to teach you with your moon in the 12 house. It does not sound easy.

Capricorn moon in the 12 house sounds very reserved.

Maybe once Saturn passes your sign there will be a solution to your delema that you can start working towards. I’m glad going to a therapist is helping.

I have Mercury in the 12 house in Tarus. So I was a kid when I had Saturn in the 12th house transit.
Oh man, and your asc too. I was also a kid when Saturn transit my asc...I did not have heavy feelings/emotions/moods until I went through the “changes.”

I've had it conjuncting my moon in sag recently - I gather it lingered and went back and forth a lot over it but that might not be the case (I've limited understanding of transits).

The moon conjunct Saturn felt just as you say ...feeling what's the point, hopeless. (I also felt it come on strong and distinct an energy which I don't normally so I think it could be that particular transit has such an impact). I've always felt, much as I've struggled, that things *could* change. There were things with this transit that seemed to cement an impossibility of improving which I've never completely had.

Somehow in retrospect that sense of doom eventually forced a fight out of me. It did I suppose toughen me up and make me confront myself. It was very sobering. I don't feel completely like I've shaken it off but there is something good about it. It's like my hope almost had to expire before it could Re-light stronger (which in my case I needed a lot)

I'm not sure what advice to give other than to be aware it's both sobering reality but also felt out of proportion. but as if that exaggeration is in some ways necessary.

I used to be scared of Saturn and Saturn matters a lot more but it is like the fears were worse than the actuality and I had to exp some actuality to realise that.

Saturn is currently opposing my Moon by transit and a large part of how I've dealt with this opposition is based on my experience of the conjunction. What I'm about to say may not be easy to hear.

During Saturn's conjunction to my Moon, I was diagnosed with clinical depression, which later became a diagnosis of severe Major Depressive Disorder when I was much older. Unfortunately, what I can tell you is Saturn's conjunction to my Moon timed the diagnosis of a life-long issue for me. Unless there is some significant scientific breakthrough on how to eliminate depression entirely, and within my lifetime, it is quite likely I will be on an antidepressant until the day I die. From what I can determine from Saturn's conjunction to my Moon, the transit may bring permanent changes to a person's life depending on the Moon's house position.

I want to agree with you as well. Saturn transiting the Moon does suck. The effects of the opposition were at least temporary, but that doesn't mean I'm looking forward to its next opposition to my Moon.

While Saturn transits are harsh, however, I've grown to appreciate Saturn. At first, its reputation scared me, because Saturn transits sound like a nightmare every time I read about them. In practice, they have been some of the best transits I've ever experienced. Saturn transits are still tough and they can be incredibly exhausting at times, but I know what I'm getting when a Saturn transit comes up, and with the exception of Saturn's conjunction to my Moon, I've become much happier as a result of having them.

The entire year of 2017 transit saturn was either square my moon or my sun! I made it through this year. It has been rough but I also have outgrown a lot, like parts of me have passed away (that is probably tr uranus opposite my pluto) and I learned a lot about myself, matured too. It was a hard year truly but I grew a lot too so there is that.

Saturn square moon gets easier after a while, in fact eventually I started to like it.

Saturn will conjunct Mercury/Mc, opp Moon/Ic, square Mars/Asc during the next two years.

Right now Saturn conjunct Sun. And all I can say is Saturn is not for the faint of heart lol.

Saturn -Moon has one feeling like they are all alone. Even when smack dab in a crowd of "friends". Emotionally austere time indeed.

Yeah I've got my Moon in trine to my Saturn in my natal chart, and it's not easy... Why do I have this ? Why ?? That's the worst aspect to Saturn, maybe (or one of the worst..)... I mean, not the trine but the Moon being in aspect to Saturn...Sun in aspect to Saturn shouldn't be easy too... But don't forget about good things about Saturn.
I think, with such aspect as Moon Saturn, bad or good, there is a lack of adaptability... And sadness of course as you told... a huge need of security... and a traditionnel side maybe...

Trines are gifts, I would think Saturn trine moon would ground your moon and make you more resilient. It might be something else in your chart causing pain or difficulty for you.

I also think that once you learn to work with the square it feels more like a trine maybe. Like a square is a challenge but if you master the challenge I don't think it keeps feeling like a square.

Probably the least enjoyable single transit. Hang in there. It won't last forever.

Hi Moonlight Swan (and everyone)...

You know... When we go through Saturn kinds of spaces, that's where having this place at LL becomes a small healing sanctuary-- a place where you might get the chance not to feel AS alone.

(And there is no fee to join, nor monthly cost to be a member here.)

QUOTE ARIES23 "Saturn-Moon has one feeling like they are all alone. Even when smack dab in a crowd of "friends". Emotionally austere time indeed."

...

I had BARELY started studying astrology when I registered here. I was starting my 2nd Saturn-Scorpio return, WITH Progressed Moon in Scorpio conjunct. November and Christmas-were annually hard. .. especially the days transiting Scorpio exact Sun-Saturn was conjunct exact P'Saturn-P'Moon (Nov 2013).

For whatever mathematical reason, seems too that (in my progressed chart) transiting Saturn keeps within range of my Progressed Moon. (I've wondered if it does that in everyone's chart after a certain time?)

I have a Sagittarius Rising. I 'naturally' am a more effervescent upbeat person (especially with all the Gemini in me).

A few weeks ago my Progressed Moon changed signs and went into Capricorn (which, actually, feels 'better' and more settled to me after Sag). It's like having a mini-vacation, but not really? LOL

Moonlight swan.. I will chime in with the others here that this CAN feel like a barren experience. And, when you can reach out (like this thread), then you can know that you have people answering you back who are (or have been) going through the same thing. I would hope that this sharing (and convo) can help you feel 'accompanied'.

It's so painful to reach out to people and just be ignored... especially when you live in one of those 'isolative' tubes.

You've probably heard about prisoner of war camps where the inmates couldn't 'see' each other, but they communicated-- through voice, or tapping, knocks.

When I sit here 'in my Saturn', with my blind-feeling midnight-blue to black, I'm so reminded that I can't see anybody. I can't reach out to anything but empty air.

I just have to have 'faith' that someone is reading this, and will recognize that there's another human being here.

Words are both impersonal, yet, they are like 'cups' or 'forms' able to dip into the inner-well where a different kind of living alive substance is... Words draw out from the soul.

As I said, I have had transiting Saturn dogging my P'Moon for decades.

Coming here to be with you all, gives me 'purpose'...

Transit saturn from 12 house squared my moon and mars, and conjucted my asc 3 times .I wanted to be alone and i realised that i have to change some elements of my character that make me unhappy. Also i realised that showing your weakness sometimes is liberating and i should stop being so strict to myself and to others. Now saturn is at my first house ,which is better, and with transit jupiter opposes my sun ,trines moon im expecting the best!!!

No, I think even good aspects can be difficult to live with. Mars in good aspects can be agressive and impulsive for example. It's not just people having bad aspects to Mars who are impulsive and violent. And Those who have good aspects, are not always nice. So it's the same for Saturn. But yes I've got Pluton opposite my Moon, and that's why maybe, but I just think that good aspects are not always easy to live with.

Saturn on Moon is a depressing transit. Going through the 12th is even more depressing. I had the Saturn squaring Moon in the 12th transit a few years ago. I recommend traveling or moving away from your home during this period. Or start some outdoor activity or time consuming hobby.

Saturn in the 12th is a closure of the previous 13-15 years, so this is a good time to assess your life. Therapy can help. If you want to take some kind of medication, 5-htp is a non prescription alternative that helps. It feels similar to Prozac.

Regular physical activity, stopped drinking, eating junk food helped. My body felt like jello. Walking through an empty hallway would frighten me. I didn't want to get stuck in my thoughts, so I stood or kept my body moving. Instead of being on the couch or chair, I'd sit crossed legged on the floor. Trying all these weird things. A tough transit, a learning experience.

Thank you for all your helpful replies!

I'm definitely having to face my unhealthy habits and things I was running away from and was getting away with until now because Saturn is on my back!

I can become very comfortable in my ways but I am trying to focus on listening to my mind and body and soul and all these negative feelings and asking WHY I feel this way and HOW I can change it.

It is time to face the music! I feel and know and trust that I will grow during this transit. Especially from reading all your wonderful replies.

I have just realised over the past few days of how obsessive and unhealthy (that darn scorpio season) my thoughts were becoming. I also have a stellium in Scorpio in my natal chart so it was really intense.

But I am going to put that energy into my college work and shift my focus onto something healthy. I think this is my way forward! Going to see a counsellor was a big step and I think it has pushed me in the right direction.

Jung always resonates!

“There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own Soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”

― C.G. Jung

I had saturn conjunct moon in 2008. I suffered a lot, it was the hardest transit for me. But now i'm having Saturn square my moon and a number of other difficult transits and I feel like it's way worst than the conjunction.

Soon it will be over, but saturn in cap will square my sun, mars and oppose my jupiter. Thats why I would love to have a stellium in one sign: to suffer only once, lol.

Isa,

How did the Saturn square Moon affect you , what was the feeling ?
I guess your natal Moon is at late degree in a mutable sign ? What signs your Sun?

Hi, Orange. My whole chart is a mess.
My moon is at 23º virgo conjunct mercury. Those squares happened while saturn was close to my MC and square my ASC. My love life is still normal, everything's good with my relationship, which is surprising. But I lost my job and all hope of finding another one. My family also has lost all faith in me. I'm tired and cannot handle this stress anymore. Because of this, I am deeply depressed and on medication. Also, I study all day and barely leave my room, except on the weekends. Thank God I previously saved some money or my depression would be worse.

I'm a Libra sun, 5º
I wonder what's left for saturn to destroy in my life. Maybe my relationship since my sun and mars are in my 7th placidus.

I Have Asc at 2 Capricorn and Moon at 3 cap and moon rules my 7th house. I don't think anything can be worse than a Saturn through the 12th house Transit though. Mine was horrible.

I went through the same thing in 2013 and it was a rough 4-5 months. However, the introspection and heaviness of the aspect brought forth new ideas.

It also gave me a better sense of how I needed to start moving toward changes in my life to make myself happy. These were slow at first, but something good nonetheless.

You should read the book - You Can Be Happy No Matter What, by Richard Carlson. He is a psychologist. However, as I gave his book more thought it is actually about astrological transits, but he doesn't realize it.

At any rate, it should help keep things in perspective.

One of my favorite quotes is by Bruce Lee:
"Don't pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one."
