I don't wanna go into political debate about this issue, we all know how fiercely most US citizens feels about the right to own a fire arm and I can understand that! I'm not criticising the normal people who does wanna defend them selves.

No I did not say gun control is the ONLY problem, it just makes it easier for people to commit crimes, menthally ill or not. Hell even small toddlers accidentally kill family members. And sadly the statistics talks for them selves about all the mass killings and other stuff in weapon liberal countries. You are not completely right about Switzerlands gun laws. Only men who have done their military service keeps the rifle after the service is done until they are 34 years old.

And yes its a very harmonic country, in my opinion one could not compare switzerland with usa, in many ways they are not alike, and I'm talking more about the polarizations and other social problems in usa, since its such a big country, so its normal.

So we should have guns because our government would turn on us? It sounds like a hypotheticall scenario. If they do wan't you down, down you will go as they will have much more fire power then a simple gun :/ Like Syria the last years.

Yeah this happens, military coups for ex. When a countries own military takes over. That just sucks... my home country have had its fair shares of that **** . The last military coup attempt was 2016 and it failed luckily, thanks to the now more aware citizens going out and standing against the military. But they had no guns, only their courage

Taking seriously "hypothetical situations" is how we prevent history from repeating itself. Is not that hypothetical, it can definitely happen but it will not in the US that is for sure bc we take the 2nd amendment seriously, at least just enough of the population takes the 2nd amendment seriously to make a difference and prevent something like that from happening. Just courage is not enough, you got lucky if it was, very lucky.
