Ya, me too. I’m an INTJ and always felt I was more of a perceiver than a judger. When you get into the fundamentals of the classification system, it becomes apparent why this misperception exists. People tend to identify most with their first and most dominant cognitive function. For me, it’s a perceiving function not a judging one. The INTP's dominant function is introverted thinking, which is a judging function. The MBTI uses a classification system that codes a type according to its first extraverted function in the cognitive stack. For introverts, the first extraverted function is never the leading function, it’s the auxiliary one. As our cases illustrates, this leads to confusion. INTPs are dominantly judgers not perceivers. Obviously, this misidentification only exists among introverts. All extraverts will have their dominant function correctly represented in the type code because their leading function is extraverted. In the socionics system, our type codes are switched. I become an INTP; you become an INTJ, and our type codes more accurately reflect our thinking processes.
