So I tried to check the forum for similar topics but it all relay to seeing spirits. My situation is a bit different. I don't see or hear them but the fear was inspired by horror films that involved scary spirits like ghost coming to haunt you. Is anyone out there are like this? Does watching a scary movie (esp ghost movies) leaves a deep fear for a week or more and keeps you up all night? Sweating at night too? Cover yourself in many blankets and have lights on? Replaying scary plots over and over in your head? Can't go pee alone at night even. It usually takes me a week to sleep without the lamp on and transition to night light. I need night light where ever I sleep nowadays -- I love my salt lamp.

8th house is said to be the anguish of the soul and poisons of the mind. Two people I know with 8th house stelliums are easily frightened and have unfortunate lives.

Fear is shown in the 12th house. Pluto here shows fears and phobias. I have this placement and I hate horror movies.IP: Logged |

I have an 8th house dominant chart and I love film noir and dark taboo movies. I used to be scared of horror movies when I was a little kid but I think that’s because Pluto was transiting in my 7th house for a long time when I was little. I could only watch horror movies if my mom was with me and even then I would freak out. Sometimes, it wasn’t even horror movies that freaked me out. We watched the black and white version of the wizard of oz together when I was little and I kept crying and huddling up to her until it went to color haha. I think the 8th house makes you have very drastic and unrational fears (paranoia) at a young age, but as you get older your mind transforms and you learn to appreciate the fears. I love horror movies now and anything noir. Though, I still get a bit shaken up at certain stories. I watched this movie called The House of Wax when I was at home by myself and it was dark, I had to turn on all the lights and I wouldn’t go outside by myself at night for weeks after seeing it. But I still loved the movie. The 8th house is like BDSM. It’s pain and torment but you loooove it and you want to keep exploring it until you figure all of it out. I think being genuinely fearful of horror is common in Geminis. They are literally children. All the water signs are good with horror I think. They’re emotional people by nature so the emotions of a horror movie quite often thrill them rather than scare them. IP: Logged |

I am like that and I'm a Sag with Moon square Neptune. The other night my bf sarcastically said 'there's another man in the bed' and I actually screamed.I still haven't watched A Clockwork Orange because I couldn't get past the beginning scenes of the homeless man getting mugged and the woman getting tortured. And it's not even a horror movie.

I'm super jumpy to begin with (not sure why) but I think I've just slowly grown out of them. I used to tolerate horror movies when I was younger but as I've gotten older my tolerance for blood, gore and senseless violence has really decreased. I'd much rather watch a comedy or a good action flick. I think it's the feeling of being uncomfortable or disturbed or just plain grossed out that I can do without...but I have no idea what would cause this in a chart! I'm a Gemini with heavy water (grand trine) including a Scorpio Moon. I think it could go the opposite way actually...when you're super emotional, the last thing you want to do is trigger those emotions (especially negative ones) even more! IP: Logged |

really? Literally all the water signs I know love horror movies and anything scary. They're the type of people who pretend to be scared (like they'll laugh and jump in fake fear when the lights cut off) but they openly love all things scary and horror. I think it's your Gemini sun honestly. All the geminis I know have a very open disregard for horror films. My grandmother is gemini sun and she always whines about how she can't go with us to the movies because she's too scared. Grandfather was scorpio moon and he was obsessed with action, blood, gore, violent horror films etc. Mother is a Cancer rising and she also loves blood-pumping horror movies because she gets to pretend to be scared in the movie theater lmao she'll laugh and scream and jump at the same time. My best friends have major pisces placements and they love horror films too, all of them would rather watch a horror movie than sit down for a cheesy romance. I think water signs just love horror movies so much. All my Gemini friends would rather watch cheesy romances and comedies and action-adventures rather than sit down for a good horror movie! I am a gemini rising myself but I think my 8th stellium has made it easier for me to adjust to love horror movies. When I was young, I was a lot more like my gemini rising. I hated horror and gore so so so much I was literally a baby in all ways I just couldn't stand watching stuff like Chucky and Nightmare on Elm Street but my mother always sat me down with her and our cousins to watch ughh. But now I'm older and I love all of these movies. They freak me out and make me paranoid but I still come back for more... IP: Logged |

I have Pisces moon and sun in 8th house and I can’t watch scary movies. I can’t watch movies about spirits because I’ve experienced scary things before. I like crime movies and thrillers, but not horror. IP: Logged |

I have Pisces Moon, and an 8th House sun as well. I am very sensitive to scenes involving animals. I had to fast forward dog scenes from John Carpenter's The Thing (although I love the rest of the movie) and Alien 3.IP: Logged |

Astrologically I would theorize that people with a lot of Mercury (nervous, anxiety prone, overthinking energy), Neptune and Saturn can be more sensitive to horror movies.I have Scorpio Moon, Sun/Mercury in the 8th and Pisces Venus. I like Horror movies. I used to love them, but most of them (to me) are not scary. They are more shocking and sometimes gross, which I don't like. It definitely depends on the genre of horror movies. This is a bit weird but I hate war movies. I like horror because it's mostly fictional and ridiculous but war movies are too real and painful. The injustice and brutality and the fact that it's apart of history/reality doesn't make me like war movies IP: Logged |

Maybe it's the psychological aspect of horror movies that makes the water sign/water influenced people that you know like the movies. I know it is for me and I'm not a water sign but I'm water dominant. IP: Logged |

Pisces and/or Neptune.Pisces has a thin, sensitive psychic barrier which allows them to pick up all kinds of things. They're like a raw antenna for every energy. It is both their gift and their curse. Psychic hygiene is excruciatingly important for them. IP: Logged |

Hahaha i can't believe it.. I was literally thinking about opening a thread asking "What is it in a chart that makes the person like only horror movies?" I can not watch any other genre (the only exception is anime) other than horror (the ones with spirit or evil dolls are the best). I can't watch any other genre because I lose interest, I can not concentrate no matter how hard I try.I have Cancer Sun, Mercury and ASC Pisces Moon in 9th H Sun in 12th H Leo Venus, Mars and Jupiter square Pluto Saturn in Aqua in 8th H 3 friends of mine born some days before me love horror movies the most. They have Sag and Capricorn Moons The Sag Moon has Neptune, Uranus and South Node in 8th H. We both love being scared but it is very difficult for us, after the movie it is like I forget everything automatically, I sometimes think of a scary spirit/doll suddenly appearing in front of me as I open the elevator's door in the night after I saw a movie and it I find it very fascinating. I would really like to die in such a way instead of you know the normal boring painful deaths. It would make my life worth it if I could see a real moving doll or skeletons or vampires. The Cap Moon friend has Pluto in 8th H and she is very easily scared and she thinks about the movie just like you but for 2 hours or so. She really likes horror movies the most. I consider her the luckiest ones because I wish I would het scared that easily with any movie. I watch movies alone in the night, I turn off the lights and turn on the volume in order to make it as scary as possible. I have also a Gemini (sun and mercury) let's say friend (she is not) with sag Moon she also enjoys horror movies.. I am wondering if the Pluto square Venus is responsible for the 5 of us liking horror movies. I remember my first horror movie (8 years old) being with my mom with those kids with white hair and crystal blue eyes. My mind had an orgasm. I couldn't believe that something so satisfying and good existed. I started watching horror movies at 12 yo. As I am typing this I am remembering other friends of mine from school being born in the summer like me and they also loved horror movies. One was Virgo with Libra Moon and Mercury she has the Pluto square Venus (6 orbs). Venus is what we like, our tastes so I think it is quite important in this case. Where is yours? Does she make any aspects?

Well, maybe I'm just the weird one because based on what everyone has said I have...Gemini Sun (28 deg. so almost Cancer!) Scorpio Moon Cancer Mercury Cappy Mars in the 4th (water house!) Watery grand trine involving Moon, Mercury and Jupiter AND Leo Venus square Pluto almost exact (0.05 deg.) And I still don't like them! Maybe it all just boils down to personal preference... I have a Gemini Moon and I do not watch horror movies. Most people that like horror movies are able to enjoy the fear it brings, because they know the stuff in it isn't real and they are completely safe from any true harm. This is not something that I can do. You see, horror movies are not real, but my dreams have taken inspiration from horror movies in the past. I've had dreams about possessed dolls, for example. My main issue is I am especially sensitive to anything horror-related given that I could at some point experience a vivid dream involving things from horror movies. In fact, I once had a dream that I was very painfully tortured to death. This dream, in particular, still hurt a ton even though my dreams very often mute most of the pain I'd experience if the events from that dream were to be in real life. The blood, gore, and violence from horor movies would be featured in my dreams much more frequently if I chose to expose myself to that kind of content even just occasionally. To be honest, I actually don't think liking horror movies will be seen in the natal chart, not in every case of liking them or disliking them. In some cases, there might be a few indicators that make it more likely, but I doubt anything is definite. Also, while what I said above is true, there was a period in my life when I enjoyed gore. That was a very strange period as it was temporary for some reason. Now I don't like gore and violence, because in excess, these things can be very boring to me. Gore and violence don't seem to be things that anyone would consider boring. Personally, using these things a lot just feels like lazy writing to me, and at least in my eyes, horror can sometimes lack substance, depth, and complexity, things that I generally like to see in movies and honestly struggle to find even outside of horror movies since I'm very picky. This is just my opinion though. By the way, I'm not interested in cheesy romances and I have a hard time finding comedies that I think are actually funny. IP: Logged |

Not weird at all, I'm the same. I can deal with horror often because I can recognise it as a story, it's violence and the real darkness of humanity which upsets me. I have Pluto in the 12th square my Moon, but my Moon is conjunct Saturn from the other side, so I have ability to rationalise, but excessive (I wouldn't change it for the world) empathy. It's perfect for astrology, but it doesn't cope well with destructive and aggressive behaviour. ------------------ blog: http://waxlobster.blogspot.co.uk/ New horoscopes just posted for January to March 2018!!!

This! I think you hit the nail on the head there. I kinda feel the same. I don't find horror movies have any value because a lot of them have very silly plot lines and it's a lot of the same themes over and over again. I find them very poorly written more often than not. The best scary movies have always been the intelligent ones - the ones that use mind-tricks and clever words to inspire a feeling as opposed to blood, gore and violence. Maybe that's a Gemini thing... IP: Logged |

I came to conclusion water signs/dominant love horror movies (esp the spirit ghost ones) which come to my surprise because I am mainly water/fire. ... No gemini in my chart either. I should love these kind of movies. *scratches head* I do love Bates Motel - psychological movies but gory no thanks. ghost related no thanks either. Is there other placements other than Gemini? When I was little I couldn't stand anything gory. I still cant. Id get extremely weak at certain thoughts or images , or watching gory movies to the point I nearly would pass out. Even writing this makes me kind of weak lol. I specifically remember one time accidentally going into the room when my family was watching a scene in a Saw movie, where the lady had to dig her hand in acid to get keys to unlock and escape the trap that was connected to her rib cage... needless to say she failed and the trap pulled her ribcage apart... I walked in at that part and I was dramatized for over a week. Scary movies, like thrillers or creepy movies didnt bother me so much while Im watching it, but as soon as Im alone or go to bed at night, that's when I found myself scared! I would even have to sleep with my covers over my head while everyone in my house slept peacefully I was scared lol. It sucks though because gore, especially specific areas of the body or specific things really make me weak to where I can't stop thinking about it and I have to pace to keep myself from fainting. It's an ugly feeling I wish I can stop. I get scared that Im not going to be able to forget about it and Im going to faint and feel like dying. It's an ugly feeling. I dont know what causes this honestly... I have a Pisces stellium, Aquarius stellium, 12th house stellium and 1st house stellium. No 8th house placements except my chiron in Scorpio. ------------------ I appreciate the masterpiece that is you, because your existence alone is art IP: Logged |

Pisces placement tend to soak up things so horror movies can be problematic for them. Same for people with strong neptunian placementsHOWEVER This can be mitigated by intense/hard Pluto placements (conjunction, square, opposition) to personal planets or transits. in those cases, you will find Pisces people relishing the thrill of horror movies. Hard Saturnian aspects can also mitigate susceptibility to horror movies. IP: Logged |
