In composite we have Chiron in the 4th house opposite Uranus in Scorpio (exalted) forming a tsquare with Venus in the 7th house, so we have chiron square venus in composite.

I get were you are coming from, I do. But calling venus selfish creates a label that blinds us to her strengths. Venus strengths are mindfulness around relationships which help create a healthy balance between give and take and an atmosphere of respect. If you are always giving and giving then you burn out and the relationship will not end up surviving long term. Its hard to respect people who always accommodate unconditionally and do not assert their needs in a relationship, that is not attractive nor healthy, venus understands the need for balance and to honor the needs of both parties in a relationship, this is not selfish, this is healthy and part of true love.

If you are always been selfish and only caring about your own needs (mars,aries) then the relationship will not survive long term either bc the other person will start to resent their needs been neglected and eventually it will break the relationship. Venus strength is also relationship skills, having strong relationship skills increases drastically the odds of a relationship lasting. You can love unconditionally but that doesn't mean you stop caring about yourself, there needs to be a balance. If you stop caring about yourself in the process of loving someone else "unconditionally" that is obsession not unconditional love, that is the shadow side of neptune and pluto. Unconditional love makes it possible for you to continue loving someone even though you let them go bc you also love yourself.

But I think you are unto something about chiron. Perhaps when chiron hits venus it forces the couple to work on their relationship skills as a unit and their relationship will either grow from it and the bond deepen or it will fall apart depending which node of chiron they are identifying with more (e.g. aries versus libra). If they identify more with Chiron's southnode in Aries the tendency will be to break up instead of using libra traits to work things out and grow as a couple (chiron's northnode in libra conjuncts pluto).
