I have Libra in my 8th house, so I can see their shadow side!

Don't get me wrong, they can be nice as hell (Angelic side), but their shadow is that they can be intellectually snobby!

And they like pretty people!

I think it's just that they come off so proper that they can come off snobby.

not everyone likes pretty people. have you ever met a pisces?? They typically care the least about looks than any other signs. I've never met a Pisces who "always" likes pretty people. In fact they are often the most cautious/wary of so called pretty people. Them and Scorpio! Libras CAN be ridiculously snobby, or people with lots of aspects to their DSC. I know firsthand from myself and from others! A Libra who is not snobby is not really a Libra.

Ha! intellectually snobby! haha

I always accused my partner from the start of this, I would say to him you are an intellectual narcissist jokingly. He is a real great guy, a lot of good qualities, compassionate, he has sun conjunct compassion but yes he is a libra and a little bit of an intellectual narcissist.

The Sun is in a fall in Libra, so maybe they're a bit insecure??

Libras are also very misunderstood, they are incredibly kind people for the most part who show their love through acts of service by doing things for you.

If you look at a sign from a very negative light you are been biased LOL and haven't met enough of that sign to get a clear understanding of them.

Well if you look at a sign from a purely positive light then you're also biased and also haven't met enough people of a sign to get a clear understanding of them. No one said Libras ARE the worst, just that they CAN be snobby. They have their positive sides and their negative sides, as all sides do. Can't help that their negative side is to be snobby and posh over small, material things. That's the Venus influence. All signs are misunderstood to some degree. We all have our light side and our dark side, why do we always have to be rainbows and sprinkles and unicorns about it on this site....talking about bad stuff isn't always bad!

And to Sulkyarcher, I forgot that the Sun is in fall in Libra, though I think we were just referring to all Libra placements in general. It's true that a fallen planet CAN show insecurity, lack of self-reassurance, and ill-timed behavior, such as being snobby or obnoxious (Sun in Libra), bitterness and apathy (Moon in Capricorn), manipulative behavior in relationships (Mars in Cancer) etc...

Oh dear, that explains my ex-boyfriend's sometimes manipulative nature. He had Mars in Cancer.

I am NOT looking at it from a purely positive side lol, I said my Libra partner can be intellectually narcissistic and that I joke with him about that.

I like how Sulky expressed his views on Libras, a more balanced approach, he definitely did a good job modeling what seeing the good and the bad of a sign looks like: "Don't get me wrong, they can be nice as hell (Angelic side), but their shadow is that they can be intellectually snobby!"

^I like how he said that they "can be" as in not all libras express this shadow side.

Hmmm. I think Aqua more intellectual snobby ime. They think they are waaaay ahead of anyone.

Libras I have dated are into good looks and stylish people. They prefer an agreeable environment. And unless there is strong Mars/Pluto aspects, they don't rock the boat.

I've got Libra Venus, so I can see why you would say that, and I can even see it happening.

I guess it could come off as snobby, in my case, depending on the person. Like, for example, when having dinner, I don't like the conversation to go too hardcore. I don't like it when there's talk of cleaning the septic tank, I don't like discussions of Sh*** or gross bodily functions in details, I don't like talk of BDSM fetishes or creepy violent brutal sex acts. For me, that's for a select setting with interested individuals. There was once an investigator over for dinner, and he talked about one of his cases which involved blood and rape. For me, that wasn't a time or place to talk about that.

When and where to talk about grusome cases or detailed bodily fucntions:
1: during dinner = no
2: while doing Christmas decorating with the fam = no
3: while at a baby shower = no
4: when I drive you to the airport and don't wish to know = no
5: when everyone around is interested in hearing such things and it does not clash with the atmosphere/activities = yes!

I'm not saying I can't speak of such things (just as I did now), but I do tend to have some kind of hardwired need for etiquette. I've also got mars and mercury in virgo, so cleanliness in some ways, including speech in certain context, matters to me. I can curse a blue streak when needed, but again, I try to consider all around me, the situation, and such. If it's just me and someone else who doesn't mind, have at it, but if there's someone there who would squeam, i try to be considerate.

I'm not against hearing of such things but for me time and place and appropriateness do seem to matter, and perhaps it makes me a snob. Ask any of my closest friends and they'll tell you I'm down to talk about almost anything. No subject is taboo, but that doesn't mean I'll embellish very gross or disturbing details. Just the fact is needed, and if the fact itself is gross, yet needed, so be it. But no more, no less.

Doing things as a way to "defile" something or simply cause offense and shock (Aquas often do this) is senseless and simply uncalled for, to me.

When shocks are healthy and needed for growth, okay. But simply to shock to cause anguish as a form of rebelliousness and, dare I say, passive aggressiveness or even sadism... That's awful and narcissistic to me.

I have Venus conjunct my DSC and I am the same way! I absolutely find it disgusting when people brings those things up while we are eating or just in a peaceful, quiet moment. Moreover, I just hate when people talk while eating. "Why can't we just eat in peace!! Why do you not want to talk when we are NOT eating but now that we ARE eating, you want to ramble and bring up all of this nasty stuff!!" is what I am always thinking. It irritates me beyond belief and over the years I just got to point where I must leave the room if the conversation gets too drastic for me. I like drama but I don't like nasty stuff....

I have little to add at the moment. (If I did, then it would be to have snobby more clearly defined as I'm not sure if I agree with the overall statement or not, even if I've known one ridiculously snobby Libra, including in the intellectual sense, who I loved to troll when I was 19. I will say that I was closer to snobby, which might be understood as having higher standards, than my Scorpio astro-twin as a child, but not anywhere as close to it as my Scorpio mother which I attributed to Mom's dark mix of her Scorpio and Leo elements.)

For now, I just want to say this is both refreshing, and far more preferable to the baffling stereotype of cardinal Libras as spineless jellyfish needing a fashion magazine to tell them how to dress, and constantly seeking the approval of others (scared to say what they really think) and a hand to hold.

I was underweight though, he wanted me to gain 10 pounds, I blossomed later on after we broke up. I looked my best in my late 20s.

I don't think him wanting me to look healthier and my best though means he is shallow or a snob. He had virgo rising with moon in pisces, I don't see him as a snob.
