For the curious/uninformed: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mindfulness For those of you who don't want to click on a link: quote: Mindfulness is the psychological process of bringing one's attention to experiences occurring in the present moment, which can be developed through the practice of meditation and other training. The term "mindfulness” correlates with the Pali term sati, which is a significant element of Buddhist traditions. In Buddhist teachings, mindfulness is utilized to develop self-knowledge and wisdom that gradually lead to what is described as enlightenment or the complete freedom from suffering. The recent popularity of mindfulness in the modern context is generally considered to have been initiated by Jon Kabat-Zinn.Studies have shown that rumination and worry contribute to mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety, and that mindfulness-based interventions are effective in the reduction of both rumination and worry. Clinical psychology and psychiatry since the 1970s have developed a number of therapeutic applications based on mindfulness for helping people who are experiencing a variety of psychological conditions. For example, mindfulness practice is being employed to reduce depression symptoms, to reduce stress, anxiety, and in the treatment of drug addiction. The practice of mindfulness also appears to provide numerous therapeutic benefits to people with psychosis, and may also be a preventive strategy to halt the development of mental health problems. Clinical studies have documented both physical and mental health benefits of mindfulness in different patient categories as well as in healthy adults and children. Programs based on Kabat-Zinn's and similar models have been widely adopted in schools, prisons, hospitals, veterans' centers, and other environments, and mindfulness programs have been applied for additional outcomes such as for healthy aging, weight management, athletic performance, for children with special needs, and as an intervention during the perinatal period. The necessity for more high-quality research in this field has also been identified – such as the need for more randomized controlled studies, for providing more methodological details in reported studies and for the use of larger sample sizes.
For those of you wondering why I started this topic: What aspects/placements present in someone's chart do you think would provide them with a more mindfulness-oriented mind? Also, what aspects/placements absent from their chart would make them more apt to mindfulness? For instance, would a lack of moon/saturn energy in someone's chart make them more susceptible to being more mindful? IP: Logged |

It is something practiced, so any chart would indicate it.But if you are asking which aspects/placements are suited for mindfulness, Saturn definitely tops the list. Yang energies are suited for mindfulness, specifically Air Moons would be suited for meditation, and maybe Sag Moons too(than other Fire Moons) as they tend to explore the mental world while philosophizing so they are rather familiar with the territory. Yin for devotion/prayer, Pisces, Cancer, Neptune and Moon. Mars would be related to Kundalini in my opinion. Pluto third eye. Someone with highly emphasised Uranus would be more suited to, and prolly will be more prone to use them anyway, shortcut methods. IP: Logged |

i suspect moon in Taurus will naturally adapt to the rhythms of nature and movemementsaturn will provide focus (saturn mercury) uranus-mars on mercury-moon can provide tooooo much energy that makes it difficult to relax and being present without too much interference IP: Logged |

Agreeing with your 'instance'-- Lots of Aquarius -- the 'dry/arid' signs. Low Cancer placements-- little 'water/feelings' energies. If you were starting a business, gear your advertising angle towards attracting those generations predominating in those kinds of energies (or lack of) for 'success'. IP: Logged |

Moon in Taurus savours the moment. So I think that may come with some strong "stay in the moment" outlook.

they say the moon is the mind so trines and sextiles to the moon from good planets provide mindfulness imo.------------------ “When a person really desires something, all the universe conspires to help that person to realize his dream.” -The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho Ares IP: Logged |
