I've been thinking about what astrologically could make someone a morning person, and someone a night person. Barring a screwed up circadian rhythm due to work (particularly night work) and stressers, what could explain this?

Since I was a child, even though I slept normally, I always naturally felt an affinity for the night. I remember being 8 years old and feeling alive at night, so much so that I would make myself wake up at midnight and go play outside in my back yard at midnight sometimes. I always felt so WONDERFUL the evening. The morning and afternoon, non so much. Even now as an adult, the night calls me. Sure, I can sleep, but I always feel better the later it is.

Whereas I do know people who CANNOT be night people, not even naturally. They just get sleepy as soon as the sun drops, and feel MOST ALIVE early in the morning, and afternoon.

So, whatcha think? You a night or day person?

Since I was little I remember always going to sleep late. It’s funny because even up til now I always wanted to go to bed early and wake up early, but I cant. I have so much trouble it’s like at night I’m naturally more motivated. It’s strange. However, I really enjoy the feelinf of morning. I prefer it to any other time of day, right when the sun is just rising. But Im just not able to be a morning bird. Even though I love it. So I guess you can say I’m definitely a night owl. I do everything late at night. I shower later than everyone. I just do everything at night lol.

Night owl. Always have been. Hate early mornings.

Astrologically I'd say Taurus sun hates getting up early. And Aquarius rising/SN helps me hate going to bed early - I need alone time for headspace and usually can only get this late at night.

As a kid I'd say I always stayed up late reading.

Any other astrological thoughts?

I love being able to go up early in the morning, like 7 , go out for a run, eating breakfast and when I look at the clock its like 9 and I have allll the day to do productive stuff, like studying, running errands, cooking etc. (I'm a uni student and do not have a work yet, so it may be different when I hopefully have a job).

Anyways, I have virgo rising, I loove feeling productive. Also I have taurus sun-merc, I love lazyness and also, I'm a tv-seriesholic.

So for me to feel satisfied and happy, I have to feel like I "earned" being lazy watching tv and eating chocolate, or sitting in my garden with a book etc. For ex, I wanna watch me fav tv-show, but first I go to the gym or I run. Or I study for some hours and cook a meal, then I have earned being lazy.

Yeah I can be lazy by sleeping in all morning, not doing anything productive and just watch tv etc, its not like I wouldnt be able to relax. But aa part of me will feel, like I have waisted my whole day.

I prefer a day where I'm doing something productive, then rest, then productive, then rest etc and my taurus side really enjoys it, and my virgo side does not have to be anxious about waisted time, its all about balance.

I think it would be very much dfferent when one is working all day and coming home. Sometimes, I dream of being a student my whole life for that reason haha.

Night owl was the subject? Yes well its midnight here, and yes I like being up until midnight or 01.00, dunno why. Some periods I will be night owling, and I think its because I'm an introvert and like the silence or something? I have been liking night owling since I was 13 years old but I try to not make it a habit.
For then I will not be able to go up early and, my whole day will feel, waisted :/

But also, some periods I will go to bed around 23.00 but not be able to relax until 2-3 hours later. This is when I have love problems, anxiety and overall stressfull live with thoughts and feelings catching up when I lie down in bed, its bad

Also healthwise its not good at all. The sleep you get Before midnight is very high quality, and our inner organs and brain really wants to and needs to be asleep around 23.00, according to science research articles I have read. There is so much research showing early sleeping and morning people has the best health etc etc. (yap thats my virgo side lecturing hahah!)

Good night guys! Hopefully I will go up at 8.00 tomorrow

For the past five years or so, I have been getting up at 9:30 AM. You'd think I would be fully adjusted to getting up at this time, but I still have trouble waking up in the morning no matter what time I go to bed the night before. Meanwhile, I can only motivate myself to truly be productive at the start of the evening and I am most active at night. It's not something I can help. All the scientific research that says getting up in the morning is healthier seems to be lost on me. I simply can't find a way to adjust to the morning lifestyle and I am still trying to have one although I'm failing at being successful.

I have no idea how my chart shows that I'm a night owl. Taurus and Scorpio are both strongly emphasized in my chart and I blame the dominating influence of this axis for me being a night owl. Pluto is my chart ruler and it's conjunct my Scorpio Ascendant. My Sun is in Taurus and the Taurean influence in me is likely quite obvious. It takes me a very long time to wake up in the morning. Even if I wake up enough to function, my ability to be productive tends to be greatly crippled until the evening when I begin to somehow wake up after several hours of being out of bed.

It varies with me. Sometimes it seems that I tend to run on a 32 hour, not 24 hour day.

Honestly nothing better than waking up early and pray to god then going to the gym then to work. It beats night owl mode and healthier but still night owl mode has its own magic to me 😎

Night owl here because

1. I really dislike the sun, it's like it sucks my energy. I like evening and at night I am at my best.
2. I generally want too much alone time and I can really get it only at night since it's as quiet as it gets.
3. Night is beautiful and mysterious, it also feels like night deeply "understands" you.
It is magic.

I really love night the only problem is that tmnight sleep is also the best, but still I feel like I am wasting precious nightime.

Night owl here. I've always worked night shift (my preference). I feel worse when it's sunny/light outside - I have an autoimmune disorder made worse by sunlight. So it is partially out of necessity but I also generally prefer the quiet of night vs. the activity during the day.

I think the only time when I would ever find myself being a day person is if I lived somewhere with less sunlight during the day. And with less noise, activity...and people.

This.

When there is no sun (rainy days for example) I like day too and I am in a good mood, although I am still at my best at night. I don't know why sun is such a problem for me, I've been like that since I was a child. I was always bored and sleepy at school. I can't tolerate sun and any noise other than music or the sea/wind/rain etc.
So the problem for me is the sun but also the noise and the activities. People are sleepy or calm at night.

Oh my goodness you and plutonian should move to Sweden during september-may ASAP!
Dunno where you live but you seem to have the luxery of long days of sunlight and the audacity to complain about it?!

Sweden, the dark, moody "I wanna kill myself soon I can't take ths darknes any fudging more!" country, where sun goes up like 8 in the morning and down before 16.00 during the horrible november-january months. Where we go to work-school. its dark. When we return home at 17-18 its dark. If we can't have lunch breaks outdoors, we sped the days in complete sunless darkness!

Just move here you night owls haha <3

I live in the southern US. It doesn't seem like the sun ever stops shining, except if it's for a tornado or a hurricane (and I don't even live in the "tropical" portion of the southern US). It seems like a dream come true until you realize that excessive heat = drought, wildfires, and severe storms. For me, it means doctors appointments and hospital visits, so I don't spend much time outside until the sun goes down.

I like the fall and winter the best here, but I wish it lasted longer. I'm even okay with more rain or snow, as long as it's not as hot or sunny. I have seriously considered relocating to the Pacific Northwest and even Alaska.

I'm a morning person that always wanted to be both. Growing up and especially in college, I could stay up until 3 or 4am if I wanted to, but would always be the first to get tired or fall asleep after a show or party. Meanwhile, everyones still up raging around me haha. Now I could give two sh**s! I like sleep and waking up feeling like an actual human

I'm in bed anywhere from 10 to midnight and wake up at 5:30am or 7am for work. If I want to be productive or exercise it has to be done early and out of the way so I can relax in satisfaction the rest of the day.

T.O.B. is 2pm and all but two of my planets are above the horizon including chart ruler Venus in Sag and Mars in Aries. Jupiter is also conjunct my Asc!

Just because I like the day time doesn't mean the sun is my best friend. Summer heat makes me lazy and irritable. Cloudy and rainy days are kind of the best sometimes. I moved to the Pacific North West last year and the milder weather and rainy season being fall and winter excites me. Sunny rainfalls are my absolute favorite!

It's exactly like that where I live too.
late October till April. Sun goes up at around 7:30 and it's already dark at 5pm.
I wish it was like that all year long at least. But even in the winter the sun is bright 9am till 3pm.

I have gone back and forth on this through out my life. Often changing due to my work schedule. I adapt. But in my younger years, I HATED waking up early.
Now, I love waking up early. I get up at 6:00am, work-out, enjoy a warm beverage, eat breakfast, walk the dog then either go to work or get on with a productive day. I feel healthier and more productive in this rhythm, and I have to be asleep by 10pm to ensure a smooth morning. I don't even need an alarm anymore.

I'm jealous. If I don't use an alarm, I over-sleep. When people say night owls can become morning doves, I'm clearly not one of them. If i go to sleep at like 1 PM, I'll wake up at 8 or 9 PM. If I go to bed at 1 AM, I'll wake up at like 11 AM or noon or something.

I love the Sun I just hate mornings, there's something energetically wrong about them. Up until 5am the energy is fine, but that blanket of morning consciousness is awful...

I do wonder if it's just me being an empath and if I didn't live in a city perhaps I would have no preference. When I'm alone with the person I love and there is no disturbance of the world (except nature and animals) I'm at my happiest...

I guess night time has more energy because there is less activity interfering?
