Hi All,

After almost two months we're on the home stretch of Mars retrograde. Have you learned anything? How does your Mars sign affect you?

I've written a piece about Mars in each sign in an article. Quite a long article, but one I really enjoyed writing. I hope you resonate with what I said about your Mars sign.

Wishing you all a much easier ride for September~~~~ x

Virgo Mars conj Leo Asc parallel Mars.
Been totally zapped for energy and very aggressive :-/
Been experiencing some downright odd and vulgar behavior from people, mostly at work, and it’s made me sick and tired.
I am not normally the first person to put my foot down because I CHOOSE to be patient and ignorant but I’ve been coming pretty close to my limit and this scares me. My aggression, when fully in bloom, is no joke..

Mars in Libra in 6th conj Dsc. I have the energy to clean(6th) but also the energy to collaborate/join people if its for a bigger cause(group work).

Love of beauty..yes.
Love of aesthetics... yes.
Love of an agreeable environment.... yes.

I am extremely romantic. But with Asc in Aries, I feel I often detract people because I prize solitude.

Aries Mars conjunct the IC (3rd/4th H) and square Neptune.

I tend to come off passive, but independent, I'm a self-starter, prefer living by myself. But when I get angry its a complete personality change - however it lasts about an hour at the most and I'm back to chill easy going me.

Having Aries Mars conjunct the IC, is a very powerful aspect and I'd like to hone this power in, but having a square to Neptune tends to drown the more assertive qualities of Aries Mars.

Plus T Saturn has been squaring the IC and natal Mars - so its been a struggle lately.

Mars in Leo in the 8th with sun in virgo square neptune, I don't like been in the spotlight, I don't like been ignored either, I like my presence to be felt and noticed but I dont like to be the center of attention at all either, I don't like an audience, I prefer the intimacy of one on one interactions and very small groups. I have anti vertex in aquarius perhaps that plays a role too or the fact that my mars falls in the 8th maybe makes me want to be more hidden but I still desire to be respected hence why I want my presence to be felt.

I do fight for what I want and take risks. If you challenge my ability it will hurt but I will take it and proof myself to you yes, I wont shy away or quit, I will show you.

Hi Charlie,

Mars conjunct Asc is pretty powerful, you must have quite a strong presence when you walk into a room :-). I guess Mars is now trine your Mars and hopefully providing a bit of respite. It has been a heck of a retrograde, people have been very out of sorts. It's good that you are able to set your boundaries, in many ways Mars conjunct Asc is enviable in that respect, people are less likely to try and take advantage of you overall.

Here's to a much more chilled and pleasant September eh!! :-)

Hi Somna,

Ah you're one of them are you ;-) I know a few with that Libra stellium (Mars-Saturn-Pluto), actually being in Libra it seems to 'get things done' rather than be overbearing or explosive. :-) Jupiter-Spica-Vertex must really add some uplift to the mix too. I hope you've found your 'path' you've got the ability to do so much with that stellium, you can really mesmerise and move people. Many of the most successful have a stellium, simply because you're already focussed and put the time in, with Jupiter and Pluto linked the financial success is made a whole lot more likely too!

Hi Aries,

I guess having your Mars in the 6th grounds it a lot, it's like you want to bring the beauty to others to help heal them. I think it's possible to have great romance and solitude at the same time, I also require both, it just takes finding a partner who also has their own personal needs and focus hey :-)

Hi Vertiver,

that's interesting! You must change a lot from being focussed to sapped by your surroundings. Mars square Neptune can be incredibly charismatic, but also be brought down easily by your overwhelming empathy, or criticism from others. (That was probably a feature of your childhood I guess….)

the Saturn square is a tough one, but on the plus side it will mitigate the downside of Neptune. Now is the time to accomplish and focus, it's not fun but it can be super-productive. Not to forget that Chiron on your Mars is going to be resurging old wounds. I have an image of you ripping off your old armour, feeling exposed for a while and then rebuilding with a much more beautiful, fluid and flexible layer of protection going forwards. Interesting times indeed!

Hi Hypatia,

That's a really interesting configuration and I can see how Mars in the 8th would want a more deep and personal means of recognition. I've obviously generalised a little in my write-ups but I can really feel the Pluto/8th House vibe from the way you've described yourself.

I can also imagine that you can be very shy, you will excel at where you apply your Mars though and it could be that you have some gift for communicating with the other side. I would imagine you have quite a strong connection with your guides at the very least and great intuition. Perhaps you are in the spotlight in the other realms! :-)

I've learned a lot during the Mars Retrograde period, but I'm not sure how much of it can be attributed to Mars being Retrograde.

I have Mars in Aries. It's hard to blame Mars in Retrograde for my poor energy levels recently, because I have dealt with poor energy levels for years at this point.

In your post, you describe Mars in Aries as being easy to manipulate as a result of their need to be seen as strong and capable. This is not something that's true about me. However, it's worth mentioning that how others have viewed me has dominated my choices in the past, just not in the typical "Mars in Aries" fashion. I used to be significantly less vocal out of fear of how people would respond to my words, probably because of Saturn in 3rd house. I'm still not as vocal as I could be, but my fear of how people view me is no longer as much of a problem. If someone doesn't view me as strong and capable though, that's not my problem. I don't have to "prove" anything to a bunch of random people. This doesn't mean I won't put forth any effort to be at my best. I'm just not going to make everything a competition. There are better ways to make use of my time.

I'm more of the "lead by example" type so I don't really want to actively lead or control anyone. This said, I can't be controlled or ordered around. While I will compromise and do my best to be fair, no one is allowed to tell me what to do. There's a difference between asking me to do something and demanding that I do what you say.

Aquarius Mars 23 degrees house 10
I've been busting my ass for four years.

I get insanely burned out sometimes. But I know it is temporary and not permanent.

Got my associate degree and landed a job in 2016. I liked the pay and the hours at the time. But the hostile hell hole environment...I got the sign from the universe to go for my bachelors.

Started my bachelors landed a lead teaching position. I have so much to do to get ready for the new school year. I tried working today and barely accomplished anything...cause I mentally just need a day to myself.

I can't wait to be the teacher who already has everything done and knows what to expect.

I just have to ride it out.

And my 8 week college class started today. (It's online.) I have a life today, so I am not starting until tomorrow.

Going to a bachelorette party tonight. Do not have as much time as I planned to get ready done. But for my own sanity I need to just sit and sip my coffee for a while.

mars in gemini, conjunct my sun and ASC.

i haven't felt the mars retrograde affect me negatively. if anything i've been extremely productive this last while, which feels great.
i can relate a bit to your blogpost, but in the last 10yrs of my life, i've really learned to follow through with my ideas and have a pretty solid foundation. when i was younger, making a decision was damn near impossible, debilitated by seeing/considering every single potential perspective.

Thank you.

Due to other bad aspetcs in chart things are not good and different. ☹️
I want to 'get things done' from the beginning. But it's not happening. And now I'm confused and lost my path. At present looking for financial success first and then I will try to climb next step.

My sister(Mars in Gem) and I were busy discussing our relationship history. And I remember telling her of my inability to "share" myself many times.

Its like when I do find someone who is their own person, there will that small gnawing resentment that they don't "need" me. And thus can the arguments start( because I feel jealous and insecure)

I don't know what I want. As the Moon/Mercury are also on the angles and square Mars in 6th conj DSC.

And the Mars in 6th does make me a dream employer or employee. I do feel that Libra does want to keep the peace and will communicate in ways that align to that.

Mars on the angle does not negate the anger however. I get so angry and my feelings are hurt quite easily when someone gets too close(Moon is also on the angle).

It will take someone identical to me to get me. I am a walking contradiction many times. But I always try to clarify what is happening within(Moon-Mercury opp)

Mars in Pisces
Like the waves of the ocean and the mysterious visions of mermaids, this is the sign of illusiveness. Mars in Pisces likes to view the world through a wide angled lens, lightly coated in vaseline. Concerned with the arts and transcendence there can be a touch of genius running through the spirit of a Mars in Pisces.

Often drawn to music, meditation, the creative arts and anything which has the capacity to remove our focus from the physical; they are also the most likely of the Mars signs to turn to drugs, alcohol and self destruction if they are unappreciated or overlooked. They sometimes feel a little fragile for this world, but if backed up by a strong chart, these are the people who create a new scene and can make the strongest impact upon the hearts and souls of those around them.

In this sign Mars is the visionary, the true performer whose charisma and magic can light up the room; as if they possess the ability to reveal a colour which is not otherwise visible within the spectrum as we know it.

To transcend the ego: The downside of Mars in Pisces is its sensitive fragility. You may be lucky enough to have a chart which strengthens your vulnerability or it may be that you have to learn to become a bit tougher. Finding areas of self expression which are not concerned with the physical world is key. Whether you are involved in music, film or a form of art a regular practise in this area is essential to your physical well-being. If you are a rare and less creative Mars in Pisces, then meditation and transcendence are for you. The gravity of the physical world does not serve you, you are here to remind people there are other levels, and to show them how to vibrate at a higher frequency.

I'll come back to this.

great article! thank you for sharing it with us

I loved this part about Mars in Cancer:

"To transcend the ego: This Mars sign needs to learn that controlling the environment will not result in comfort, but rather stagnation. Whilst the desire to know what's around the corner is always going to exist with this placement, finding a sense of inner stability will be what makes you thrive. In life the only thing you can be in true control of is your own thoughts and responses to things and by switching your focus to your inner world, you will find that external flux poses no threat after all.

I also have Mars in Aries, but it's square Neptune.

LOVE Mars in Aries, but the square from Neptune is without a doubt my most hated aspect in my natal chart.

I go through incredible bursts of energy and initiation, then get confused and disillusioned with what I set out to do.

Also such an escapist through alcohol etc but I'm getting a handle on it now.

Mars in Virgo, 10th house. Trine my moon, in the 2nd.

This retro has been so frustrating for me. I have felt back in so many areas of life, but particularly my career. I have been putting in a lot of effort to move myself out of my day job and into a more full, secure position with my passion and real career. Up to now, it has been a side job. A lot of avenues opened over the past few months, but nothing led anywhere. The last few weeks I have seen more energy and more movement, but still nothing solid.

I agree to the energy zap. There were many days during this retro where I just didn't want to care about it any more. I liked your article, though I never saw myself how you described. I am, however, learning that I need to renew and replenish myself to be able to give to others! SO you are right on it!

Hi Lerena,

that's quite a gentle expression of Mars in Aries that you're describing, I can't help wondering if it's located in a water house, or in contact with Neptune.

I'm glad you're feeing more able to represent yourself and your views though, that's good. As a Saturn in Gemini I do resonate a little. :-)

Hi Stawr,

Congrats on landing the teaching position and your qualifications too! It sounds like you have a lot going on right now, but also that you're right on track and stepping confidently on your life path. The square from Jupiter in Scorpio should give you a much needed energy boost over the coming weeks :-)

thanks Aries Eagle,

I really appreciate the feedback. :-) I also am Mars in Taurus and strangely had the least to write about it, but I love the placement. It gives me a much needed stability and focus that the rest of my chart lacks. (Thanks Universe!!) I hope you find it serves you just as effectively!!

Hi Mercuryflow,

That's great to hear that the focus improves over time. I do love Gemini as a sign, and coupled with a little structure, so much magic can be created. It sounds like you're right on target and great that this retro period hasn't been troublesome for you! I guess it's probably been in your 5th which I can imagine would be more productive than most of the houses… :-)

Hi Somna,

Ahhhh I just clicked on your chart, Chiron Asc is a tough one, so very 'exposed' to the outside world. It must be very draining to be around angry or negative people. I see that Uranus opposite your Jupiter is throwing a bit of chaos your way and most likely bringing up feelings/fear of loss etc. the Saturn sextile though is great!
That Moon-Venus conjunct is fabulous too! Wow! I think you are being a little too hard yourself, I know that Mars-Saturn folk tend to be very self-critical and very rarely satisfied with your achievements but you've got great ingredients in your chart to achieve anything you want. Sure the Pluto square to Moon-Venus isn't a breeze, but it gives you depth, insight and natural wisdom.

I have Saturn-Moon conjunct natally and it is what gives me the ability to be consistent, stable and reliable to those who matter in my life. The Pluto in the 12th squaring my Moon (not really my Saturn) can destabilise my confidence and clarity but it also gives me natural psychic ability and a 'knowing' that I just wouldn't have otherwise.

All of our attributes can become our strengths and you have great financial potential in your chart too!

Hi Aries,

I hear you, I think most of us ~conscious~ living folk need a relationship with somebody very similar. The opposites attract types are the ones on the beginning of their self learning most often. That person is out there. Just focus on the self-love and developing your talents and inner energies. The Moon on an angle must feel very exposed, but it's also a 'heart on the sleeve' placement which helps others warm to you. I often say that the planet(s) closest to the angles are the ones which 'run away' with our charts. It's what people see in us most prominently and clearly, no matter which angle…. So people see you as fiery, capable, empathic and emotional...that's kinda exciting :-)

PS – the only people who aren't contradictions, are the ones who are too busy 'fitting in'. We're all a myriad of different aspects, even the stellium peoples :-)

Thanks Girlwiththerainysoul – I'm so glad it resonates for you

Hi Cultstatus – that's not an easy one by any means, but you have the gift to create a reality and dreamwork for others who cannot be creative in that way. Mars-Neptune can be truly inspiring, empathic and incredibly creative. Sure I have met one or two who aren't that, but you'll never be trapped in the mundane, as many others are. It has upside, I'm a big fan of Neptune! :-)

Hi Stonemoon,

Has your Moon been affected by Saturn in Capricorn? There's been so much going on at the beginning of the Cardinals this year…. I'm hoping that you start to make some more clear progress in your career soon, Saturn can block but ultimately it will back up your efforts and bring you what you need. Whether you Moon is in Capricorn or Taurus that Saturn influence is either here, or it's a-coming… things will move forwards I'm sure.

I'm glad my write up resonated with you, thanks for the feedback :-)

Saturn is in early Cap, and was trine my Venus, so helping. My Moon and Mars are late degrees Earth, and my Sun/Jupiter opposes my Moon in Cancer. Right now, Pluto is trine my Mars, opposing my Jupiter and nearing my Moon and Sun opposition. I'm ready for the ride!

I am actually quite ok with both Saturn and Pluto, but this conjunction to my Moon does make me a little nervous.

I have Mars in Gemini in the 9th house and I have Venus in Gemini conjunct my MC. My mars and venus are not conjunct but in the same sign.

Right now and a few weeks ago, Men just get on my nerves. The things they say and do, just makes me think there is nothing upstairs sometimes. ( Sorry to other guys, probably just the ones I deal with)

I do see others perspectives being more relevant though..

Hi Stonemoon,
Our Mars position is close, mine is 17 Taurus. ļ You have a lot of activity from Pluto at the moment and coming up too by the sounds of it.
Sure Pluto conjunct Moon can be intense but it will change your path in a way that will feel more ¡¥right¡¦ afterwards. I remember that from the opposition to my Moon. A lot needed to be let go of in the meantime though of course. The houses are very important, whatever house your Moon rules and is sat in will take centre stage for the next year or two.

Hi colourful butterfly,
We it¡¦s not just males who are superficial in this society ;-) It sounds like you¡¦re in need of a social shake-up. Maybe you need to actually seek out the more intellectual echelons, find somewhere which attracts the philosophers and poets. Find a few cultural attractions to spend time in? I don¡¦t know what it¡¦s like where you live? There are museums and art galleries near me, there are old buildings and some interesting, wizened characters in the local pubs.
The 9th needs stimulation and inspiration, even good books can provide it, in the absence of immediate cultural options¡K. ƒº

Hi Lerena,
So Mars in a water house *and* in contact with Neptune, yes this definitely softens the expression of Aries somewhat! Even more dissipated by the Pisces IC, in fact I can imagine your family are/were quite controlling, where you tend to side-step conflict or social conditioning.

Very interesting. Do your nodes come into play here at all? Are they aspecting your IC/Mars position in any way?

TaurusVenusGirl,
I am so sorry to hear that. How horrible for you. ƒ¼
I¡¦m sure that you will find yourself somewhere far better and be appreciated much more going forwards, but what an absolute blow to you on a personal level. I hope they regret it too and I wish you a much happier and more fulfilling role in the very near future. x
