Also a strong Chiron influence makes sense to help others heal and have a calling and desire to be in this field, 8th house stuff without a strong Chiron influence would lead the person to pursue a different career than mental health counseling like criminology, detective, banking, police work...

I have Chiron in the 6th conjunct DC opposite my chart ruler Jupiter conjunct Uranus in the 12th.

Chiron forming a golden yod with my Moon ruling the 8th and Pluto in the 10th.

Chiron trine Sun. Sun conjunct MC.

Plus Venus conjunct Mars stellium in the 8th.

You need 8th house stuff so people tell you their secrets and talk to you about their trauma and so you can help them gain insight but you also need 6th/12th house placements to give you empathy and a desire to help and serve others as well as Chiron quintiles/trines allowing you to use Chiron energy in a creative way that helps you assist others in their healing.

I don't have any 12th house placements. But Moon rules my 12th house which is in the 6th. I also have Moon and Mercury trine Chiron. Both Chiron and Mars are conjunct in the 10th house. And Chiron trines my Jupiter in the 8th house.

How is mars conjunct chiron like? how wide is that orb? Are you very irritable? Do you feel anger very strongly? or is hard for you to feel anger? Do you like to vent when you are angry or is it hard for you to express yourself when you are angry? Wondering since your mars conjunct chiron is in Gemini.

Are you 100 percent sure of your time of birth? Cancer is in your 12th house but 99 percent of your 12th house is occupied by Leo so if your time of birth is off by a little I think your 12th house could potentially be in LEO easily.

Is it hard for you identify your emotions? Do you feel your emotions are hidden from you often?

You do have moon ruling your 12th in aquarius falling in your 6th, a stellium in the 8th, Venus in Pisces ruling your MC in the 8th and a strong chiron influence.

I can understand you are attracted to nursing or counseling or even social work, have you considered social work? with Sun in Taurus and all the placements I just mentioned that would be a great fit too. Taurus is about resources and all those placements/aspects give you a strong desire/need to help others, social workers link people to resources. I was a social worker for many years while I went to grad school to get my masters in psychology.

I don't know out of all those 3 options which is the best option for you, only you know that but I can see why you are drawn to nursing and counseling.

What attracts you about each? what are the pros and cons in your mind of been a nurse versus a counselor or social worker? Which one do you feel the strongest pull to? I definitely like counseling way more than been a social worker personally but you have Sun in Taurus and ruler of the 2nd Mercury in the 8th, you would have a lot of knowledge about resources and how to link people to resources so something to consider too, this knowledge would come easily to you, resources were never my strength but some people have a library in their head about this stuff, then again I did not specialize in social work but majored in psychology.

A lot of counselors get their degree in social work, the director for my center took that route, she is a LCSW (licensed clinical social worker).

You could get your bacherlor's in social work and that would leave the door open to either becoming a social worker or a counselor.

The orb between Mars and Chiron is 7°12a. Yes I am sure about my birth time. It takes a lot to make me angry. I just take everything in and eventually when it becomes too much I let it out.

But how would I obtain the resources as a Social Worker though?

People learn a lot of those resources when they go to school to study social work but also once you have a bachelor's degree in social work or related field you can get a job as a social worker or case manager and you learn a lot about those resources at your new job while they train you, you also learn from your team.

I like nursing because I would be able to help others. Being a service to others I like the idea of being able to help people. I like helping the elderly or people who are ill. I think Psychology is interesting I like learning about how the mind works. Being able to understand why a person acts a certain way or why they experience certain things.

Decisions Decisions!

My first job after my I obtained my Bachelor's degree was as a case manager/social worker for the elderly. I really liked that job, it was about linking the elderly to resources/services that will allow them to stay home, the goal was to help them avoid institutionalization such as ending up in a nursing home. I would link them to services such homemaker services, personal care, companionship and link them to resources such as food stamps, housing, helping them maintain their medicaid eligibility, taking steps to increase their level of care when they needed more services...etc

I bet you would be great with the elderly

With some, you will be playing mental chess. So you need to be on the ball. And Uranus in 8th helps to get clarity and getting a "one up" on seemingly complex subjects.

Good point about having this kind of clarity!

Do you feel a greater pull towards one or the other?

I was interested in psychology, law or advertisement..but my top two were psychology and law BY FAR but I felt a stronger pull to psychology since childhood.

Follow your heart, which one do you want to practice more in your hearts of hearts?

I think bc your venus is in a mutable sign and it rules your MC you have a harder time making up your mind with career matters, I can relate, I am that way in the love department but when it comes to career stuff I have venus in LEO in the 8th conjunct Mars ruling my MC so I was always fixed in that regard.

Yes sometimes I do feel blocked emotionally. I hate that I have a difficult time making a choice. It took me forever to decide to do Massage Therapy. I'll be done in February but I want to do something else as well. I also think about all the classes and years I'll have to be in school for Psychology or to be a Social Worker.

You can be an advocate, put advocate on the indeed search, you don't need a bachelor's degree for that which is a 4 year degree, you can be an advocate with a high school diploma, another option is getting a peer counseling certificate, again just a high school diploma but there is more to it (other requirements).

Social work is a 4 year degree total but maybe you already completed the core courses which are the first 2 years.

But CNA you would be amazing at it and I think is just two years and some places higher you and let you work for them while you are obtaining your CNA. Once you have your CNA you can get your nursing degree which is another 2 years.

What about physical therapist?

I've thought about CNA because I like helping elderly people but I think the work is really hard. Patient Care Tech is a little more advanced than CNA. Yes Physical Therapy Assistant. There is a program at a community college that offers an Associates Degree in Mental Health. I would be able to work as a Psychiatric Aide, Social or Human Service
Assistants. Thanks for discussing this with me I appreciate it. I know it'll take me sometime to make A choice.

I think I'll go with Social Work. I could get an Associates Degree or Certificate in Mental Health. And I could work as a Social/Human Service Assistant.

I missed this post I really do enjoy working with the elderly. Did you get a Bachelor's degree in Social Work? Or Psychology?
