Both.I definitely feel the water element in me. In my western chart it would be due to my Piscean sun and in my Vedic chart it would be due to my Cancer ascendant. I'm Virgo moon in both..... In Western I am Leo ascendant and Vedic I am Aqua sun, which both could make sense... IP: Logged |

Kannon is such a well of insight and information! I just this last year came to understand how the signs itself are at third place. Planet aspects and the house nergy, then thirdly the sign a planet is in. This is huge imo. And its so ironic, how we come to detest the "only sun sign" type of astrology, and then start to focus too much on what sign the planets are in. For ex, my moon is in gemini, but I don't feel the moon gemini desriptions talks to me. But I have moon in aspect with saturn (and other planets), of course I will feel that energy foremost, etc.. It took me along time to start to not look at what signs a planet is in, the first I do, and firtsly look at the aspects and houses IP: Logged |

I can relate to both but I prefer my Western simply because the interpretations are more up to date and therefore more valid. Too much Vedic information in both written text and online source is outdated and extremely fatalistic in a context that no longer applies to the modern day. This is true for natal readings in Vedic and also compatibility readings in Vedic. I enjoy the extra detail that Vedic goes into, but sometimes they just say things that are flat out crazy and clearly not applicable to people these days. I feel all Vedic systems' interpretations need to be modernized in the way that Western astrology interpretations were because some of the stuff I read in Vedic is absolutely beyond insanity. Like saying one specific placement means I will only have prosperity after the exact, precise age of 38. Or one specific sign present in my chart means I will die at age 56. How could you possibly say that off of one placement? It makes no sense. The odd specifications are fatalistic for the sake of fear mongering bc vedic astrology used to be used to trick the lower caste systems in India into believing they were born to be inferior and complacent to the upper castes and that they would need to spend the rest of their lives buying products from the upper castes (that correlated with their "negative" sign placements) if they wanted to achieve happiness and prosperity. It's truly crazy. IP: Logged |

Definitely western. More specifically, the esoteric teachings. I've had my chart read many times and only 2 astrologers have come close to helping me decipher it. An astrologer I know personally, and Alice Portman. Everyone always approaches my chart in an exoteric, repeat of certain aspects and it gets very frustrating. Vedic does not describe me at all. To the point I gave up on researching that form of astrology and further. IP: Logged |

Hmm looks like most can relate to Vedic signwise, including myself. I was observing this Venus in Virgo chick(Western) if she behaved like a Venus in Leo or Venus in Virgo and the whole time I spend with her she kept correcting my pronounciation...sometimes adding 'no offense' at the end, Such a Libra!!!!!IP: Logged |

Interesting! I don't relate to my Vedic Chart but I heavily relate to my Draconic Chart (derived from the Natal (western))... You might want to check that out, too! You can do it on astro.com Let me know what you think! I'm always interested in people's reaction to their Draconic

I am very confused about what is the best sight to do my Vedic chart in, and what kind of chart type, North, South, or East Indian? What have you guys experienced in doing your vedic chart. My vedic moon is in Aquarius Ascendant is in Capricorn ------------------ Primarose628 IP: Logged |

I relate more to my Western chart. All my Earth placements are Fire placements in my Vedic chart, but I've heard it's no surprise I'm a Taurus Sun, so my Western placements are definitely more accurate. This being said, my Vedic Jupiter in Leo is probably a better placement than my Western Jupiter in Virgo.IP: Logged |

I don't know which chart I relate the most... But I felt Aquarius before I knew I'm Aquarius in vedic astrology ! I really feel Aquarius and vedic astrology explains that. But the rest of the chart, I don't know if I relate to it.IP: Logged |
