Yes. Like conjunctions, parallels are fusions of the planetary energies involved.

I have Neptune, Uranus, and Jupiter parallel and I can't find much information on Uranus conjunct Neptune because of its rarity, much less with Jupiter thrown in there.
Start with the closer planet, Jupiter, the expansion principle. Jupiter parallel Uranus is a dynamic of fusion between the expansion principle and the Uranus principle of higher mind. So this is a mind-expanding aspect that can also expand one's interests across the globe (or cosmos), at least conceptually. Even more conceptual and imaginative with Neptune added. So a very conceptual, creative, even visionary mind, but with Uranus involved it is harder to predict or know more specifically how it will apply to you personally. This aspect combination can range from artistic influences towards drama, music, etc, to much more metaphysical or religious, or even a designer's mind.
Exploration of group ideals, perceptions.
It is important to understand the outer three planets are generally energies in basic development for most of us. So there is a lot of trans-personal addition to the Jupiter expansion potentials for growth -- group/spiritual convergence. Tendency to see growth as towards the trans-personal ideal or outside the present limits of the conventional, to apply the mind towards developing a greater shared outcome.

No, these terms are not synonymous since they are based on astronomical conditions, not how we treat them in astrological interpretation. Parallel is a term specifically referring to a condition of declination, conjunction to longitude/east-west movement.

And in the same breath,if Mercury is parallel to Uranus. And Mercury parallel to Sun. Would it be reasonable to say that Sun is parallel to Uranus? Even though the orb is slightly above 1 degree but below 2 degrees?
Probably, since parallels involving the Sun can be allowed a bit more orb. So a bit more than 1° between Sun and Uranus is still a parallel.
