Anyone have an experience with Venus retrograde? I'm curious how this would impact them and well, how it would impact having a relationship with someone having this aspect in their chart.

Very hard time receiving love and giving it freely. It feels like they are blocked or thwarted through no fault of their own. This is the hardest Retro imo

I have one but in Aries. I’m hyper aware of my physical appearance. I also connect my self worth to how much attention I get in love, relationships, friendships etc.

If my self is esteem is low I like to serial date.

Aries is a hard Venus anyway, so this would be a challenge.

i used to hook up with a guy with retrograde venus in cap, he had a really hard time with forming relationships and showing he cared

really hard to actually connect with on any meaningful level

i have a friend with retrograde venus in virgo too, she has asperger's but she's able to work around it and can be very loving and **** in spite of it

i think her other placements make it better whereas he had a lot of cap and aquarius which did nothing to help

Thank you for sharing how it feels to have this aspect. Selfishly, I'm not sure I want to even get involved with someone having this. I need to feel that there's a reciprocity of love not be the person reaffirming it. Was hoping to find a positive element to it.

I have this placement in 12th House cusp. Very loveless life. Not because there is no deep feelings and passion but because of blunt and wounding rejection I have experienced. Its hard to show that you have feeling towards someone when you have been smashed in pieces time after time. Also as Ami Anne said it feels like I’m blocked. Sometimes it feels like every door and window is suddenly closed and I don’t know why. But I don’t have issues with self worth. I love myself and I’m proud of myself that I have survived this far.

get to know them and give them a chance, if they're like the cap venus retrograde i was with i get not wanting to bother but the virgo one i know is perfectly capable of being a loving person and sharing that even if she can have trouble not knowing how or when to best express it

YES, this is no fault of your own. It is part of how you came into the earth and one of your struggles. I am sure you have some beautiful things in your chart, too.

that's an unfair way to look at each individual person you know, even if a lot of people have made you feel that way there's no guarantee that the next one will

i say that knowing i actually apparently legit hurt the retrograde guy i had been hooking up with, because honestly that coldness made it very hard to take anything seriously (so did the fact that i and so i couldn't

vulnerability is just part of actually being with another person, and without it things just never feel quite real or like they even have the potential to be

but yeah when you treat everyone the same and dont look at who they are you push them away and its a set up for failure and self fulfilling prophecies

Would you say someone that has suffered something like domestic violence that it’s unfair he or she is reserved when meeting new people? Maybe it’s unfair but there is legit reason why their behaviour is what it is.

well yeah i would, because while it's understandable that they would feel that way logically it is unfair to themselves and the new person and accepting that reality instead of living in their feelings would ultimately do them more good than harm

i never said there's no legit reason to feel that way, i said that feeling that way isn't in line with reality and causes more harm in the long run

is there a point to that question? lol because it's pretty obvious that having feelings is unrelated to whether or not they're sensible and pointing out reality isn't the same as telling someone their feelings are worthless

it's just saying "acknowledge your feelings and move past them in a logical manner instead of acting out fear based trauma with everyone you meet so maybe you could move forward and have a more fulfilling life and relationships through self improvement"

where's the issue with that and why would i refrain from saying it?

edit: btw i'm curious do you think it's better to tell someone that it's cool that they project the past onto every new person in their life because of feelings instead of trying to move past them and come to the realization that sometimes that coldness pushing people away creates situations where other people never give them a chance because they wont give other people one?

i've been through a lot of trauma in my life and it just seems pointless to treat that sortof thing like it's reasonable

emotions can be strong but that doesnt make them reasonable or helpful in the long run

telling someone that their feelings are valid but that acting them out repeatedly towards everyone they meet is harmful to them and other people is hardly a fight

im aware you passive aggressively seem to dislike me (never respond even when directly addressed no matter what's said), but don't use words like "picking a fight" as if that's what i'm doing on any level

My bf has this placement. We have been together for four years.

He really hasn’t had any serious relationships before me.

Like someone else mentioned about a rx virgo Venus. He has high functioning aspergers. I couldn’t tell until he told me.

He is very good to me. He is funny.

He has a Virgo stellulum too.

Our Venus signs are exact polar opposites. 6 degree rx virgo and I’m a 6 degree Venus Pisces. So we have a very special and unique chemistry

that's interesting, my friend with asperger's has venus retrograde in virgo and a virgo mercury they're conjunct and both square neptune does your bf have either of those going on?

she's high functioning too and most of the time with her i don't notice, but sometimes i can really see it

i've known her forever, never doubted she has love for me and she has no issues expressing it she can be a very loving person and is a really good mother etc

i've heard if a planet is debilitated by sign the retrograde isn't as bad as it could be and comparing her to the cap venus i was hooking up with (his venus was pretty much exact on my ic too) that definitely seems to hold true

This is very interesting his Mercury & Venus are conjunct and they both sextile his Neptune in Scorpio. He has Mars in Libra which I thought could possibly soften this too.

Just got out of a marriage that was not healthy. Everything I read online about Venus retrograde in a natal chart was very discouraging and actually sounded like my ex. I appreciate all the replies to my request for information and first hand experience-thank you everyone!

I hear you and I agree that your chart is not a reflection of our value or how lovable you are. I think we all have something that we just wish we could get out of our chart. I have a fixed T-square with Moon & Mercury at the apex to Mars and Jupiter. To really make things fun Saturn is the leg. I keep thinking this is just tied to the lessons I'm contracted to learn. I sometimes feel that my pre-incarnate self was my overly ambitious :/

This is one placement which I find in beautiful chicks who completely underrate and under-value themselves, my fifth house Venus and first house jupiter feels bad for them yo, but venus conjunct saturn is like "Ohhh!! Look!! A friend!..."

And they also seem to be into meeting this one perfect partner and reject every other guys for it, but usually the perfect partner never comes does it?? Us Venus in Pisces have it far easier, we can fall in love with our friend's wife making her look like a tooth fairy in our imagination, but Venus in Virgos, nyah! They make tooth fairy look like "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson, and as good looking as he might be, I always found him looking a bit too much like a Robot and wondering in which moment he will make a clown face and show his teeth(add a twinkle in the front ones) whenever I've seen him doing serious scenes, this has been one long-ass sentence and it's starting to make my head spin despite me myself being yours truly the least confusing mercury of all time, yesss lowww and behoolddda! *...Piisceees Mercuryyy!!(*screams!!!!*) Cut!!

the friend i mentioned has a scorpio moon sextile venus, her mars is taurus

it'd be very interesting if this guy is also high functioning aspergers with that combination

i'll be honest and say sometimes my friendship with the chick i mentioned has been far from easy but she's always willing to try to sort **** out and sometimes someone being willing to try means more than doing **** right most of the time but being uncompromising when they don't

My feeling is this will/would be non lasting. He's very attractive and quite charming in that Libra in Mars way, never been married. We have double conjunctions venus and mars, his moon sextile my venus and his venus & saturn sextile my ascendant. But his venus is opposite my Saturn. Odds are I charge ahead anyway with my Scorpio **** and pick up the pieces of my broken heart.

i dont know any libra mars that i can think of, i never meet them, but i'm used to libra energy (my mother is a libra, my libra brother has a libra stellium, i have libra venus/ascendant)

i've had venus opposite saturn with that cap retrograde venus guy i mentioned, his saturn was right on my moon/descendant other than him being attractive and there i didnt feel anything

it's definitely not something i like in synastry

typical scorpio ready to crash and burn before you even start, enjoy the ride lol
