Synastry and composite are the best known methods for verifying the relationship of two people, but has anyone tried the davison relationship chart?
Natal ... for the specific behavioural issues of each person.
Synastry ... for how the two people interact with each other.
Composite ... for how others see them (as a 2-person team)
Davison ... for the purpose of the relationship - i.e.. what the two people came together to learn.
Marks Chart ... http://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/markschart28.0.htm
So ... to fully/accurately analyse a relationship ... all of these charts have to be adequately explored.

I would expect the individual natal charts to reveal what each of the two people are really like - and the synastry comparison to reveal any issues caused by what each of them is really like.
The Davison will reveal if a purpose of their relationship is to address what each of them is really like (or/and the issues created by them being so).
The Composite then reveals the extent to which what they are really like is apparent to others.
For example* ... In the natal chart - partner A needs to experience a variety of romantic relationships, but requires partner B to "have eyes only for partner A". ... In the davison, both partners are learning to exercise greater self-control. ... In the composite, Uranus is signalling the need for the couple to experience a variety of romantic relationships.
Neighbours, friends, associates and other third-party contacts of the couple will see the Uranus signal clearly ... and some will inevitably hit on partner A, in the hope/belief that he/she may stray (since what partner B never knows will not hurt him/her).
But ... partner A is learning (via the davison) to not respond to being hit upon. ... And (perhaps) to recognise that role-playing between two people who genuinely love each other can satisfy the Uranian urge, without the need to involve any third-party.
[*In reality, how this Partner A scenario actually plays out will be influenced by the natal chart issues/promise of Partner B.]
