All in all, it seems like you had good experiences. May I ask where does this question stem from, then?

Was asking from astrologer's POV, now I do not Kno...

You have the chance to practice Astrology without assuming you have all the answers. Two people with the same birth chart can make different choices, as their souls vary.

As astrologers, you have to be very careful when dispensing advice to clients. I always believe in presenting the potentials/pitfalls and let them decide what they wanna do about the situation. I feel put off by astrologers who tell people to do this/that or saying this will fail/that won't work ever because that's disregarding the other factors that come into play - the person's age/maturity/upbringing.

In the Chinese ziweidoushu reading, the astrologer takes into account the client's age when dispensing a reading as it can play out very differently between a 20yo and a 40yo.

Anyway, I've so far never had an accurate prediction and I've tried many types of fortune telling. One bazi reader told me I should totally avoid relationships because I'll bring bad luck to my partners. Later I found out from another bazi reader that my chart shows a very strong, independent character but all those things about bringing bad luck to partners are rubbish. This type of flawed reading stems from ancient Chinese belief that women with strong character is bad because they tend to control the relationship and their men.

Another bazi reader I saw a few years ago predicted a relationship coming up for me but advised me to avoid it because it'd bring me sorrow. She was right, it did, but she failed to predict that after the sorrowful feelings subsided (sometimes it's a matter of mindset adjustment), what remains was a deep and loving connection. She also made me think that this man will be abusive to me but he isn't. She also told my friend that she'd meet her next partner soon which again she was right. My friend met someone 1yr later. But she failed to inform that it would be a difficult relationship with fundamental incompatibility, manipulation and emotional abuse. My friend also had her Composite read and these were not highlighted either.

Sorry that I went off track and rant but these made me think we've to review the interpretations of certain aspects.

No, they would not be responsible. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of each individual to make their own decisions. Nobody can predict the future and the future is never set in stone.

No, people (astrologers or not) aren't able imo to change someone's life just by giving a convincing advice/opinion. Whatever you decide to do is your choice or if it's not a choice it's your fate.

I would never blame anyone else for something like that other than myself.

Well????…… Let's look at this another way...

Dante (Inferno) equates astrologers, soothsayers, and counselors as greedy capitalists and deserving the same place in deepest hell realms-- the next-to-the-lowest place that's there, in the first concentric circle outside the center where satan dwells.

That soothsayer who insisted that the taking of money 'absolves' himself of guilt is an especially odious evil sign. The FACT that he even THOUGHT to HAVE TO mention that?, is a *red flag*!!!

I think if they have to absolve their conscience means they ARE manipulating truth (and the person) for bottom-line of his separating you from your money for his profit? Charlatan?

Conscious of WRONG-Doing!!! tsk.

Want to acknowledge someone today who helps to repair the damage that some astrologers have done to people, through words uttered in readings.

Kudos to astrologer
Tony Howard,
and the good folk at Astrology University (in Oregon).
I've been in some of his webinars.
They are actively trying to help others who have been given some really negative slants/news/advice about things in their chart.

That touched my Heart.

Yes-- if you are 'selling' your divination work/ counseling, then you ARE held to a Higher Standard. It is sacred to have the trust of another person. Use that influence wisely.

There's something in me.. that senses that weight.
I do not take that trust, nor responsibility, lightly.
Power of Life and Death is in the tongue..

When people turn to an astrologer or card reader for help, there are most-likely going to be folks that come in time of deeper trouble, who are NOT seeking astro information just for "entertainment" purposes only.

This has to be carefully discerned.
A person is more than a sale, a customer, whose money is for the purpose of lining your wallet.

*~
There are {less than scrupulous} astrologers/readers who USE the person's chart against them.

There are "markers" in a chart of a person who can be more-easily duped or manipulated. {I've read multiple articles on it.}
~hey marketing.

When I was first getting into astrology and its language a decade ago, there was a wave of less-than-honorable capitalistic folks marketing and selling chart-information.

Their responses to queries were 'obviously' an attempt to manipulate, according to chart features (after the person responded with their chart data).
.. I was riding the bus.
This woman whom I had known for several years, and who knew I liked astrology-- (evidenced by my books, magazines) began speaking enthusiastically about an astrologer she was corresponding with. I WARNED her about the astrologer, but she ignored-- and got financially well-ripped-off. This woman didn't have that much money.
.. I had ALREADY had an encounter with this particular astrologer. She had begun to send a barrage of emails to me. This person used sequentially more-intense language designed with 'emotional' twists and hooks. After a number of weeks of her emails, I recognized that manipulation and it angered me.
.. I was glad to have been in touch with a live astrologer, by phone, inquiring about a college-level astro program for accreditation some day-- I was a newbie, wanted to see the syllabi.. and what it was going to take. {Couldn't afford it. It also required an undergrad degree.} But at least, I wanted to know 'what' I would be required to learn-- lots of water under that bridge-- times and society have changed.
So.
I emailed him to ask if he knew her. (Sent him copy of one of the emails.}
He confirmed that this particular astrologer was 'known' in the professional community for her less than scrupulous marketing techniques-- Would identify potential 'marks' and use their chart features against them.

It's also been interesting to watch "trends" in the astro community, over the years I've had an interest.
