As I do not expect expensive gifts, food will always been eaten, however I don't expect anyone to buy me anything in general. I can buy my own stuff.

A few years back when I celebrated my 40th, I informed everyone NOT to buy me gifts, so guess what, they all did.

I know it's the thought that counts but all it does is lump me with possession I do not need or are wanted. I'd have been happy with a bottle of $10 wine, my Taurus sun again.

I gift my friends homewares from high end department store, and/or flowers and chocolate and/or take them out for a meal.

So while I think this is all on my Taurus sun placement do you think there are other placements that reflect what we like to give or receive as gifts?

So I do this thing, where I write a list in a notebook of things I want. I have different categories like clothes, make up, toiletries,etc
My strategy is if I don't need it urgently wait for my Birthday, xmas, valentines, anniversary, and teacher appreciation week, and the end of the school year.

Gift cards are great because just about anyplace has something I could use.
I finally saw my friend and he got me a very belated birthday Ulta gift card. I bought bath bombs, expensive face moisturizer, and mouthwash(since I just ran out)

I gotta wait out until Christmas now. On my Christmas list I would ask for gift cards to grocery stores I shop at, Bermuda shorts and Capris in the color red.

I also learned to ask each individual for something different, after I received two rice cookers when family looked at my list. I also like to give people options, I don't expect everything on the list, but that way they can get me whatever is more convenient.

Yes I like to receive, but I also love to give.
For the most important people in my life I have what I call the gift files. I can take notes if they want anything, while also my own ideas of things I know they would like. I also have a budget of what I spend depending on relationship I have with the person.

1.Fiance, parents, sister, are the highest budget
2.Future in laws, and nieces and are next
3.sibling in laws, favorite friends are next
4.boss, secret santa, assistants, extended family next,
5. anyone else

I am pretty easy to please with gifts but I have certain things I am not a fan of receiving
1. Holiday decorations. I am not into decorating. I can hardly keep the place clean. I have no business decorating.
-imagine living in a apartment with little storage and big obnoxious holiday decorations
2. MUGS I get this all the time as a teacher. Everyone has the same idea, where in the hell am I suppose to fit all of these! And most of them are Christmas theme.
3. Christmas themed kitchen wear, I don't want kitchen stuff I only want to look at in winter.
4. Russel Stover chocolate
5. Cheap jewelry. And by cheap I mean metals that causes an allergic reaction.

I usually ask for practical gifts, things I need but don't want to spend my own money on. If you give me a check I won't do anything with it, or I just deposit it and pay bills because I convince myself I have already bought plenty of gifts in my own time.

Two rice cookers! 🤦‍♀️ I remember one year, I went house hoping over Xmas, I was completely bombarded with cheap body moisturiser! If I could not pass them off to others, they went to charity.

I love presents, but don't always like people spending money on me. I like useful things - my dad got me an air fryer for my birthday, because he knew that I almost bought one just after Christmas. I love books, art supplies, headphones (wireless, ideally), gadgets - most of mine are secondhand, except for the kitchenware. My dad is the only one who would buy me anything related to my computer, phone, ipad, etc.

I'm not big on necklaces, rings, bracelets, but I do occasionally like them. Delicate, gold. My mother had a ruby ring that her dad made (he was a jeweler). I like gifts that show the person knows me - thoughtful gifts. I have a delicate gold watch upstairs - the kind you wind up, and it ticks.

Moon/Venus conjunct the cusp of the 8th, sextile Jupiter, square Mars, trine Pluto, etc. Jupiter trine Neptune - I honestly just love the atmosphere and build-up to holidays. The people. I love to shop, when I can, for others. I love wrapping presents, and choosing a tree, or just doing something on my birthday.

Second best case scenario is a practical gift (Saturn in 8th H) or an edible gift (Venus, Mars, Jupiter in 2nd H).

I love giving gifts but I really have a hard time picking.. "this one is not good enough, I don't think she would like that one, something is also wrong with that other one over there" I never like anything. The few times I truly enjoyed giving gifts were the times that I knew beforehand the receiver would really enjoy that gift, for example when my friend said how much she liked a bag we saw it was a perfect opportunity, I bought it the next day and gave it to her as a birthday gift a couple of months later.

I kind of dislike giving gifts on typical days (birthday, name day, christmas etc) it feels boring and limiting to me probably because I don't consider those days really special. (maybe Uranus ruler of my 8th H? or Uranus opposite Sun and ASC).
