Is this possible? I read that progressed ascendant moves more slowly than other placements and changes sign around every 20 years, sometimes less. But Astro.com shows the progressed asc 3 signs further by the age 35.

It IS possible ... BUT your natal chart ascendant actually takes 38 years to progress from 29Virgo25 to 0Scorpio10 (Naibod calculation), or to 29Libra35 (AMRC 361 calculation).

[Note : Naibod calculations are used by most astrologers, but AMRC 361 is the correct/accurate calculation ... So Astro.com enables either calculation to be used/selected for progressed charts.]

The reason why this can happen is that the Sun progresses around 1 arc degree for each year after birth ... Thus, it moves through approximately 35 arc degrees from birth to age 35. ... So, those born with Ascendant degrees at the very end of a zodiac sign can have ascendants which progress through the whole of the next sign and into the one after by the age of 35.

Graham! Why do I like you so much?! 🥰 do we have something in common in synastry? Sending you lots of love and blessings!

(I actually did ask for someone else. Let’s say natal asc is in aries which progressed by the age of 35 to cancer..this is only with one particular person and I didn’t change the options. It is a bit confusing.

It can only happen if the natal ascendant is in the last 5 or so degrees of its sign. The progressed ascendant then travels through those degrees + the 30 degrees of the next sign at a rate of approximately 1 degree per year. Thus, at 35 it enters the third sign. In reality though, the progressed ascendant will move at either a slightly faster or slightly slower rate than 1 degree per year.

1. Our natal Asc, Dsc, Mc and Ic are all in the same signs - and at the anaretic degree.

2. We both have Cancer intercepted in 10th, and Capricorn+Jupiter intercepted in 4th.

3. We both have Virgo on the cusps of 12th+1st houses, and Pisces on the cusps of 6th+7th houses.

If looking at Secondary Progressions, I will say, no.

The "transiting" ascendant is the fastest moving placement - it circles the zodiac in 24 hours. Thus pAsc should be the fastest, then pMoo, then pSun.

Technically, you are correct ... but it is not how computer software actually calculates the progressed ascendant.

All secondary progressions are based upon 'one day = one year'.

In one day, the ascendant moves through 361 degrees - BUT progresses the natal ascendant by just one degree (360 + 1).

Hence, the progressed ascendant is moving through (approximately) one arc degree per year, at a rate of (approximately) one arc second per day.

In that same time, the Moon will have progressed approximately 12 arc minutes - and is thus PROGRESSING faster but transitting more slowly than the Ascendant.

"My belief is that interceptions and duplications can be expressed as a formula.
For example ... I have Cancer+Moon intercepted in 10th house; Capricorn+Jupiter intercepted in 4th house; Virgo duplicated on the cusps of 12th+1st houses; Pisces duplicated on cusps of 6th+7th houses and NO* planets (or Nodes) in the 6th or 12th houses.

And, with those interceptions + duplications, the formula is :-

"an issue in the 6th+12th houses is adversely affecting the 7th+1st houses - in a way that (until resolved) will prevent the positive qualities of Cancer, Moon, Capricorn and Jupiter from being used effectively correctly". ... [ * If there were any planets or nodes in the duplicated houses, these would be involved in the 6th+12th house issue.]
_________________________________________________________________

In my life, this manifested as two parents (Cancer+Moon and Capricorn+Jupiter) who conditioned me in childhood to believe (unquestioningly, because it seemed so obviously "right" to me) that "we should always put the needs of others before those of ourself" (6th+12th houses of service).

And, I did that RELIGIOUSLY/blindly/unquestioningly until the age of 44 ... when a lifetime of doing so finally brought me to the brink of a physical or/and psychological breakdown.

At that time, I was a public-sector workplace manager ... responsible for ensuring that some 60 staff did not lose their jobs to a private-sector competitor (and the only available manager with the knowledge/experience to do so).

And ... only at that point did it dawn on me that - if I had a breakdown, those staff would lose their jobs. ... Hence, I changed my conditioned belief to "we should always put first the greatest need of the group" - and, in this case, me staying healthy was the greatest need of that group.
_________________________________________________________________

I also believe that the issue(s) of our natal interceptions and duplications are actually rooted in a past lifetime ... and that we recreate the adult behaviours/beliefs in the current lifetime, by actively looking for them in our childhood interactions with others. ... Hence, my siblings might not have "picked up" the same conditioned belief as me - despite us being raised by the same two parents." ... http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/242723.html
