my brother is a leo rising with a taurus sun in the 10th house and he is an introvert. he has a cancer moon at the door of the 12th house and a cancer venus. our father did not chat with us much growing up. what aries23degrees wrote kind of makes sense. he told me he learned a lot of how to socialize through his job. he does light up a little bit in a leo kind of way when he gets recognition. his 10 year old son is a leo rising with a gemini sun in the 11th and is quite introverted. he also lights up the same. its subdued and quiet with a joyful pride to it.

there are many forms of introversion. i think its just very complicated. it changes through different life experiences, different environments. i am not sure if its astrologically based. my nephew doesnt have much introversion in his chart but his familial environment is full of introversion.

i do resonate with my sag rising and i am also an introvert irl and online. however some who meet me irl might say that i am very sag-like and some might say that i am a mute. when i am comfortable, my rising shows more i think. when i was a kid, i got in trouble for socializing too much in class. i would try to talk to everyone and do other clownish sag things. when my environment changed and i got bullied, i became very introverted. the clown is still there but is only shown to certain people in certain situations.

^ The Sag risers I know have a great sense of humour but they don’t show it to everyone, only those who understand and appreciate their jokes.

That's interesting actually, that people are often the rising sign prior. And I think this would make sense for me, the link you added about Cancer rising definitely sounds like me, even down to the appearance. That's something to think about then.

You also need to factor in that if you have Leo Rising, the Sun is your "chart ruler/Lord of life", and that it becomes an even more very sensitive and amplifying part of the chart.

In your case, not only is your Sun in the introverted, very Yin Sign of Taurus, but if it is within 10 degrees or so of the Moon, then the very Yin, Feminine Moon (ruler of Cancer nonetheless) is strongly shading into your very life and self energies.

That can also give a Cancer like feel and vibe, and shift the looks towards a Cancer like one too.

It would be helpful for people asking these questions to just go ahead and share the chart that the birth time gives, as a reference, so we can look at these important details.

But anyways, a Leo Rising with Sun in Taurus, if also conjunct Moon in Taurus, is going to be rather more passive, quiet, and introverted than say a Leo Rising with Sun in say a masculine/Yang Sign and/or connected to a masculine/Yang planet. My grandfather and I both have Leo Rising, but he was definitely an extrovert and I'm definitely an introvert.

Difference being is that not only did he have Leo Rising, but his Sun was in Sagittarius, and he had Leo Mars as closest Planet to his Asc degree. Whereas I have Sun in Capricorn, and more focus on Yin/Feminine energies in general.

And close conjunctions with one's chart ruler, especially can highlight the other Planet quite a bit. My spouse has her chart ruler conjunct Jupiter with less than a degree of separation.

Though she is a Capricorn Rising, which in an archetypal sense is often short, rather slender, bony, on the darker side, shorter, more ovate face, etc, she is tall, broad, and not particularly dark, though she does have brown hair, brown eyes, and can tan decently. That powerfully highlighted Jupiter shading into her very energies of self., shifts her whole personality, looks, etc towards something closer to a Sag-Capricorn hybrid almost.

Planets are stronger, more concentrated energies than Sign. Edgar Cayce called Zodiac Sign symbols the "wavering" indications, whereas they pointed to Planetary strengths as related to deep, consistent Soul and character traits.

This is why every Sign study ever has failed miserably. The only astrological studies that have shown above statistical chance correlation involved Planetary strengths. Many people don't realize this, but this pop, mainstream astrological focus on signs this, and signs that, is a relatively recent development.

Almost all the ancients placed more emphasis on Planetary strengths. And Planets near the horizon and straight up above, often were considered especially powerful.

Anyways, point being, that even if you have a Leo Rising, you still have a rather Yin/Feminine chart all in all.

Taurus and Moon are two of the most Yin polarized symbols there are.

It is possible that you have a Cancer Asc, but it is also possible that you have a Leo Asc. And here is the real kicker and irony here... Say you do have Cancer Asc, and say your Chart ruler, the Moon is conjunct the Sun...

Guess what, that can indicate a rather Leo like type energy shading in to your very energies of life and self, and as well as with your looks. Course Leo and Sun are not the same exact energies. They are different symbols with different names for a reason i.e. there are definite differences.

Speaking in a very general sense, Sun tends to be a faster vibratory (more spiritualized) indication than Leo on average. Leo is like a stepped down, lower octave version of the Sun. I think/feel/perceive a fair amount in color terms. The archetypal color of Leo is like a high orange (yellowey orange), whereas the archetypal color of the Sun is a golden light.

If you're looking at auras, if you see a lot of golden light in someone's aura, this indicates that often times, this person is a true initiate, and they are fast approaching cosmic/Oneness consciousness (symbolized by the pure clear/white light.) At the very least, such a person does not have to incarnate in Earth anymore for growth and lessons here. If they want, they could move on to greater systems i.e. they are graduates of this system.

Not a problem 👌🏿

I just wanted to add that I read a Wikipedia history about Robert Downey Jr. whom feels so familiar to me. Its like I am looking at someone I could have been close friends with since high school or varsity🤣

Robert has Leo Asc. And its no secret that he had a boundary blurry relationship with Dad(Nep-4th opp Moon/Jup) that was a destructive influence on him. His Sun(Father and planetary ruler of Asc)is inconjunct Plu exact. So Dad was a very powerful (Plu) and imposing figure in his self identity(Sun).

His Dad encouraged him to use "recreational" drugs(Nep/Moon opp often diminishes boundaries in the early home life)- which affected his life and landed him(at some point) in jail.

He's an example of an Ari whom dabbled on the brink of self destruction.Only to emerge renewed . Sat is contra parallel Ura. Sat in 8th opp Uranus in 2nd. The constant redefining of security. Tearing it down to build it up again.

The Leo risings I know who claim to be introvert usually have personal planets in the 12th house of introspection...

My birth certificate time puts me at Aqua rising, and I related a little bit due to Uranus natally sextile my venus and moon.

But then, years later, I came across a journal of my birth written by my dad whose time of birth puts my rising sign as Pisces, and everything came together for me astrologically.

Medical records can be wrong. They are written by humans, and to err is human.

Thank you. I've had nurses who are clients confirm this. Marking birth time down accurately is simply not a medical priority. It often gets done well after the fact as an estimate. That datum should not at all be treated as if it were 'science', or even seen as certain 'fact.'

Just saw your chart over in a different section. So your hypothetical chart ruler/lord of life, the Sun, is not close enough to the Moon for it to matter (unless there is a parallel, which is quite possible). However, the Moon is moderately square your Asc degree and from a very amplified area of the chart, second only to the Asc/1st House, the MC/10th House. That is quite significant.

Also, perhaps even more importantly is that Aqua Neptune is almost exactly opposed your Asc degree in the physical birth time chart. Normally 7th House Planets tend to relate to self only indirectly, and relate more to others close and/or affecting to self.

However, when these are in such a close aspect to the Asc degree, they become more directly self related as well. Meaning, Neptune is quite highlighted in your physical birth time chart.

Neptune is a VERY different energy than Leo in many, many respects. Neptune is the silent, observing mystic who FEELS so much about her (I see Neptune as Yin polarized). She can at times become overwhelmed with her internal psychic, imaginative world, to the point that she becomes inactive and passive, or just constantly "goes with the flow" rather than directing her own life. (This can be positive or destructive depending).

Neptune is a far, far, far more introverted and gentle energy than Leo. Then you also have the Aquarius background shading in with the Neptune, since she is in Aquarius. Aquarius in some ways, is polar opposite of Leo, but they also have some commonalities. Opposite Signs are like two sides of the same coin, or like opposite/complimentary colors. They are radically different, and yet similar at the same time.

Both Leo and Aquarius deal with the themes of creativity and becoming (authentically oneself as an individual), however, their focus is very different. For Leo, it is expressed on a personal, individual level, and for Aquarius it is expressed in a group and collective way.

But anyways, the Neptunian energy shading into the very energies of self, life, and body (Asc), will be stronger and more noticeable than the Aquarius all in all.

This is why we have to look at charts very holistically, rather than a set of disparate parts.

Another factor to look at to see if you have Leo Rising or not, is to look at your closest relationships in your life. Do those people have strong, highlighted Leo and/or Aquarius? Or perhaps Pisces since Neptune it is so closely conjunct your Desc? If so, this would tend to argue for Leo Rising.

That is one of the ways that I know I have Leo Rising, because of the numerous closer, more affecting people in my life that have had strong Aquarius and strong Venus energy of some kind (I also have Aqua Venus in the 7th). By some kind, Libra, Taurus, and/or strong Venus energy shows up strongly in these folks. My spouse is an uber Aquarius, but more importantly, she is a predominant Venusian, with also her chart ruler/lord of life in Libra.

(It's also one of the reasons why I think that Edgar Cayce most likely had Leo Rising, because his twin Soul, Gladys Davis had Aquarius Sun, and his wife Gertrude was cusping Aquarius, one of his sons was an Aquarius, and he had other people close in his life that had powerful Aquarius and/or Leo).

Yes. Especially the Neptune part.

Saturn at 8TAU54 also squares Asc 4LEO34. So Moon + Saturns squares from Taurus are themselves enough to explain an atypical Leo rising, if this Asc degree is accurate.

There's no parallel between the luminaries with Sun 18N33, Moon +/-9N.

Sun is also contra-parallel Neptune 18S53.

Agreed with the first part, and thank you for checking more deeply into the specifics.

I think you can't just take the standard definitions of a rising sign and apply it to yourseld. I don't really identify with Cancer rising. I'm emotionally rather self reliant, independent and I love my own space. But so are many other Cancer influenced people which for me is proof enough that always the chart as a whole needs to be taken into consideration

I'm a Cancer Rising, but my Moon is in Scorpio conjunct Pluto in Scorpio. So I identify more with Scorpio and I give off scorpionic vibes. People keep me asking if I'm a Scorpio, I get along well with Scorpio people etc.

Sounds like you probably have a very intense, sensitive feeling nature with all that combo Cancer, Scorpio, and Pluto going on?

And it's even worse, all of that is in the 4th House.

So, I don't see myself as "intense", but friends/partners say I am. Apparently I have a very intense stare, a resting ***** face and some kind of "presence". Which are things not commonly associated with Cancer Risings, at least from what I read.

I also read a lot about Cancer Rising women being physically voluptuous and feminine and I'm not like that at all (I'm super skinny and tomboyish).

I have a pisces rising conjunct Pisces moon in the 12th house with saturn, conjunct my ascendant and moon, ascendant trine mercury and Neptune. I have an Aquarius sun in the 11th house, conjunct Neptune and Uranus, and trine pluto at 0 degrees.

From what I've read about Pisces rising, there's a lot that I don't necessarily relate to that much. I'm very good at controlling myself and any urges I may have when it comes to addictions, and I'm not very emotional. I personally think that's probably because Saturn is one of my dominant planets, honestly I relate to what I've read about Scorpio though. Especially when it comes to obsessing over certain people, I also really don't enjoy being in the spotlight, and people tend to either be intimidated by me or underestimate me. But the plus side is that I'm aware of it and always making sure to work on that aspect of myself.

As I've matured I've definitely stopped relating to my rising and just become more stable overall.

Hmm, interesting.

In an archetypal sense, Cancer Rising for women does tend to correlate with a more fleshy body, and often larger than average breasts.

But Scorpio and Pluto wouldn't be the factors altering that archetype so much. Scorpio might indicate a bit more squarish and strong of a build add on, but not skinny and tomboyish.

I have a friend with Cancer Rising that is like you, though she does have somewhat large breasts (it just doesn't seem like it because her frame is skinnier and somewhat tall. I was surprised when I saw her in a bikini). In her chart, what is counter balancing the Cancer is that her Moon is in Virgo, and more importantly, her Cap Uranus is closely opposed her Asc degree. Virgo, Cap and Uranus are more high metabolism, skinnier type indications, while Uranus indicates some height, and the combo of Virgo and Capricorn shading in, indicate greater melanin than what Cancer archetypally corresponds to (paleness for the respective ethnicity, whereas Virgo and especially Capricorn are more melanated indications for the respective ethnicity. She's white and a mutt like most Americans are, but she has strong Portuguese on one side, and it shows through).

People think I'm a Scorpio, too. My draconic chart is very scorpionic and Pluto tightly squars my ascendant and my ascendant ruler which gives me a plutonic vibe I guess. I find Scorpio people (not all but many that I met) hard to deal with. their need for retaliation and vindictivness is annoying. I find them super super easily hurt (even by jokes) and then they immediately want to return the hurt they experienced. Exhausting.
