I would say mars is very impulsive, acts first and thinks later, and it’s aggressive energies are very apparent.The tendency to flair up can smooth over just as fast and the ability to move on and not hold a grudge is a lot easier with mars. I’d say the planet is very physically orientated on many levels. Mars is very daring, fearless, and a tough, masculine planet. Mars influence is quit literally accident prone, not just in rushing around but also drawn to danger and weapons And such.
Pluto on the other hand, is all about self control and control in general. It’s more a planet that hides in the shadows, likes to watch and observe and analyze. So it’s a lot more thoughtful and strategic in what it does. And when pluto is angered, it takes longer to blow up, and it also doesn’t let go as easily. It holds onto things, emotionally, mentally, it’s not as restless as mars and the concentration powers on Pluto are super penetrating. Pluto is also drawn to dangerous things but on a more hidden level, like crime and the psychological motivations. The energy is more about seeking what’s not readily apparent.
Both are extremely passionate, sexual and can have rather ruthless qualities to them. There’s also a loner quality to both of the planets as well as the need to be authentically the self, which both planets I think can be appreciated for being true to themselves as well as in others.
And combined imo can have the potential of harnessing some extreme rage and violence. Especially because Pluto has this magnifying and hidden quality that internalizes everything, so when pressurized and blended with mars aggressive energies, it can turn to destructive proportions, especially considering just in itself pluto rules death and mars war..

My sun is closely conjunct mars, as is my mercury. And Pluto is angular conjunct my chart ruler venus, also parallel my mars/sun/mercury occultation. So, my life is riddled with mars/Pluto themes as my entire family has in some way prominent mars and pluto.
