In fact in addition to the DC ruling contracts it also rules open enemies, and I will say that often times Venus and the DC are motivated by selfish reasons because they want their own needs to also be met kind of like how people sometimes point out that altruism is motivated by selfish reasons that's what it reminds me of, with the IC ruler and the moon a mother gives because they want that child to grow and develop in a healthy way because they want the best for that child and they're not asking for anything in return.

Ultimately both the Moon, Venus the IC and DC play a role in how we nourish and want to be nourished but I definitely feel the moon and the IC is actually more selfless and goes to the core more but both manifest in how we express love and want to be loved.

Both the IC and the DC sacrifice themselves for others, with the DC your sacrificing some of your needs so that the other person gets their needs met so that you can in turn also get your needs met as it connects to Aries after all since they fall in the same axis, with the IC you are sacrificing your needs for that child so that they can develop and grow and be okay and be healthy and develop into a healthy adult that can take care of themselves, the sacrifice of the mother is bigger, the Hope is that when you're older your kids will visit you and play a role in taking care of you as well but we all know that often isn't the case.

This is how I imagine Scorpio IC nourshing itself or others LOL

Hardcore to the last...

Me I've got Cancer IC. So, I like to make people feel at home, and cook/feed and give snacks.

The entire archeytpal story of the Zodiac is literally about the simple, selfish/self centered self (Aries) going through various stages, lessons, consciousness levels, to arrive at the transformation of the ego towards that of universal Love and Oneness consciousness (which Pisces represents the beginning of).

If you disagree with that, then I don't know what to tell you--it's there plain as day. Does it apply to all actual individuals? No, of course not. I've met individuals with very strong Aries who were more spiritually/consciousness evolved than people with very strong Pisces. The whole maturity/evolution thing is related more to a combo of strongest Planetary energies and/or freewill, than it is to Signs--which is something I've probably mentioned some hundred times at least here. But is the ARCHETYPE of Aquarius or Pisces more complex, evolved, etc than the ARCHETYPE of say Aries or Taurus--yep, no doubt about it at all.

Yes, I am "obsessed" with objective truth. Guilty as charged.

Now, the interesting thing here Hypatia, why are you making this conversation about me personally? Why not stick to the information, data, logic, etc at hand? Why do you have to bring me into it? "You have this obsession..." Is it just because I had the audacity to disagree with and challenge some of your perceptions? Because I didn't make any of my previous replies about YOU in a personal way whatsoever (other than neutrally pointing out chart patterns which could relate to your nourishment of others vs Aries IC). Sounds a bit confrontational, over personal, and a bit Aries at the roots of one's being... and with me having Scorpio at the roots of my being, I ain't backing down.

As I told PlutoWasHere earlier, it's not that I think that the IC doesn't have anything to do with it at all, but rather I think it is a more holistic and complex subject than just pointing to one symbol and saying, "this is how we nourish others". As I said, and I'll repeat, I suspect that also Moon, Venus, Neptune, certain Signs, etc are likely a part of it as well, and with an emphasis on the Yin/Feminine for the most part.

This is the first sentence of how you responded to my post: "I'm not so sure that the IC really relates to how you like to nourish others."

You basically stated you disagree with my post and did not participate in the post in the sense that you did not decide to answer my question and reflect on HOW your IC influences how you nourish others. No, you instead decided to reply to my post telling me I am wrong period. That is how you led your response to my post in the first sentence and set the tone.

I am not making this conversation about you, you came in and turned a post that was supposed to be about reflecting on how your IC shows up for you in how you nourish others into "the IC is not about how you nourish others, VENUS is." I also feel is good to take into account venus in someone's nourishing style but that is not how you presented your information in that original reply, you said the IC does not relate to someone's nourishing style and to look for Venus for that.

And yes is my opinion you are obsessed with the upper hemisphere and are biased against Aries and the bottom hemisphere and yes you can disagree ofcourse but I have read enough of your posts to come to that conclusion.

This post was supposed to be about nourishment and you come in and with your reply completely changed the direction and tone of what this post was intended for.

I like the idea of the 4th coming back to our own nourishing, and maybe how we learned to nourish or not nourish (or nourish completely differently...

I am a Cancer Sun, but Cap Moon. In childhood and young adulthood there were many many accusations of selfishness, and probably many of them were accurate. My IC is Pisces, and Neptune is in my first house. Once I went through a complete revolution of my self, in my mid thirties, Pluto and Saturn transiting through my 12th and 1st houses really initiated it... I became a much different person.

Hypatia's theory works for me in the second half of my life in the sense that I can use Neptune to help others. I am good at reading them and instinctively knowing how to change my approach to them in order to best reach them. It's not conscious, it just happens.

I would say before this awareness I used Neptune to escape and ignore, and I focused on innate qualities of nursing my own wounds and closing down. But this also illustrates what others are saying. IC may play a role, but so does everything else. My Moon has definitely shaped my behaviors in life, strictly speaking of when life behaviors meant focused on self preservation. Moon is more mature now, and I can use it to detach and compartmentalize so I can focus on someone else, and not my own feelings. I also have Venus on MC and that is wide square to Neptune, IC ruler. Take that as you will.

This is interesting to think about, my IC is in Gemini. I prefer to talk things out and ask people questions about their feelings. I can be a very curious individual that wants to know how the human brain works. I enjoy having good conversations and being silly. But that's only if I like you, and trust you enough.

I like to analyze behavior and offer solutions when someone talks about a problem they have. My sister gets annoyed sometimes because of this as I don't realize she is just venting. I also like to give people the freedom to make their own choices. I won't be the one to tell you not to do something because I think everything is a learning experience in some regard. But I tend to get annoyed when a person wants to rely too heavily on me. I don't have all the answers and sometimes you just need to experience it yourself.

With my Pisces Moon and Venus I do have an emotional nurturing side that comes out. I appreciate it because it helps me be softer when I need to. But if I don't know you very well I can be very detached and not really care what you think of me. I've been referred to ass a cold-hearted b**ch because of this.

I have Virgo IC and don't know what it means to nourish people.

When someone activates my IC, I would be caring such as walk with them in the dark so that they are safe. Lend them a place to stay if they have no place to go. Overall make sure they are safe, if they're hungry I'll offer food too. It depends what they need.

Ahh this sounds like a caregiver doesn't it? Virgo = Nurse. lol It's also a mutable sign, and I see myself adjusting to their needs. My ruler is on the MC, so I think people see me as a helpful person or that's what I want to be seen. It's hard to hide that.
