hi.
okay, i'd like to know which aspects or placements can indicate having an absent mother in someone's life? she's not dead, it's just the child never even met her.
could it be seen from that child's natal chart and how?

Empty 4th house and hard aspects to the moon, for starters. Plus maybe moon being in either Capricorn or the 10th house?

I never met my biological mother. I have an empty 4th house (until you include… Nessus!) and moon/Venus conjunction in the 10th square Pholus an Chiron in my 1st.

My sister never met hers either, despite actually meeting the rest of her birth family. (We are adopted from different families.) She also has an empty 4th house with moon conjunct Jupiter in the 8th (Cap) squaring Venus in Aries in the 11th.

We both have Ceres in the 7th - hers is conjunct Nessus and mine is conjunct Lilith. Our adoptive mother was a violent alcoholic.

We share other similarities, but I don’t see how they’re related. I really think the empty 4th house is a factor, plus the lunar aspects. I don’t understand why, but the hard moon-Venus aspects seem to be a factor. Full charts here http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum35/HTML/011620.html

My ex has a mother that worked a lot and he and his siblings were first raised by their grandmother and later on they just took care of each other. He has a 12th house Cancer Moon.

My grandmother lost her mother at a very young age and was mostly raised by her older sisters. Her father was very strict and somewhat distant. She had an Aquarius Moon.

While I have my mother physically in life except for inbetween the ages of 11 to about 20 (I was living with my father until he died then I moved on my own) she was never there emotionally. My mother was in a car accident before I was born that left her with a traumatic brain injury. Basically, she is a perpetual teenager without the deeper complexies of emotions. I have moon conjunct Pluto (less than a degree) in 6th house opposite mercury in 12th. Leo on the cusp of my 4th. She was also very violent and a severe alcoholic/drug addict.

Hm odd, my mom died when I was 18 - I have moon in Aries, first house with a wide conjunction to Saturn. My planets in 4th are mercury and Lilith, Mercury is not well aspected. Has a square from Saturn and an opposition from Jupiter.

do you mean physically missing or emotionally?
My mother was always there physically but she was never really protective of me, especially not when my father beat me up. They both were not there emotionally for us either, but they burdened us with their emotions.
Saturn and Pluto in the 4th house. Moon very tightly square Pluto.

Physical amd emotional absence of the Mom can be shown in similar ways in a chart. This includes the identity of the Mom being unknown.

Its a combination.of factirs that emphasize
Moon/Nep
Moon in 12th
Moon/Sat
Moon/8th
Moon 12th from the house it rules
Moon 8th from the house it rules
