What aspects in a natal chart show extreme shyness or introversion? Someone so shy that they aren't even on social media?

I would assume:

- Ruler of ascendant in 8th or 12th house
- Saturn conjunct ascendant/ascendant ruler
- 8th/12th stellium
- Ill aspected Saturn in 11th or 5th
- Saturn conjunct Mercury

I would imagine it depends on which kind of shyness or introvertness? Verbal? Physical? Mental? Emotional? Rare does one have all four issues.

1. The Moon if it's emotional; 2. The Sun and Mars if its actions vs introvert non-action; 3. Mercury if it's verbal/mental or 4. Venus if its relatability in a relationship. How these are aspected and the environment they occur in (house) is very important too, any house is effected.

I am ascendant in capricorn with saturn conjunct the ascendant, my childhood until adulthood was very insecure, shy problems above all... little contact with my environment. After the first return of Saturn, I have become more confident and even over extroverted, sometimes overconfident with people I don't know, I am also a Pisces moon and a Scorpio sun, usually insecure as well.

I think Asc ruler in the 12th can point to introversion but not necessarily shyness.Maybe if the sign in the 12th is less of a social sign, that placement can lead to someone being shy.

I’ve always been extremely shy…I think for me,it’s chart ruler in the 12th in Pisces and Mercury retrograde in aspect to Saturn.I also have a lot of retrograde planets.

My chart ruler is in the 12th in Aries. I was shy around new people when I was young and hid behind my long hair. As an adult I'm not shy at all. Even with my sun, venus, and merc in the 12th house.

My nephew can be.

He has Taurus 12th house moon with Venus Virgo and Mars. He is not a big fan of public crowds. While he is a cuddler, he needs time alone in his room, and express when he needs to be alone.

A stellium in the 12th would make sense but I don’t think 1 planet alone would do it.
My sisters chart ruler moon is in the 12th in Gemini. She’s always been more of an introvert, but she’s never been shy.
She does have fire placements, that could be why.

My sister. She has a private instagram that she rarely uses, shut down facebook, years ago, and she has avoided posting on message boards, since someone was passive-aggressive with her, back in something like 2003 - unless things have changed since then. I wouldn't know.

She's a 12th house Pisces Moon.

She's the one that got me back into gaming, and introduced me to twitch, in 2016. She has a favourite woman that she subscribes to. I don't know if she talks in her chat, but I know that she lurks.

It's also me, sort of. I've dealt with social anxiety - extreme - since I was bullied in school, and other things that happened, too. I'm an Aries, and being passive-aggressive wouldn't chase me away. I used to try to be polite, even if someone was being rude to me. That's changed in recent years. My shyness disappears when I'm angry, or really upset, sometimes when I'm really happy.

I could be pretty introverted and secretive. 12th house Sun and Pluto in 1st. I also have anxiety depression problems what make my interactions not an easy experience. About 70% of people I’ve met contributed to it.

I have seen Pluto on the MC manifest as introversion. I would not use the word shy in this case.

12th and 8th house are definitely at play when it comes to introversion/shyness.

Let's use a well known figure for example: Keanu Reeves, despite his massive fame, describes himself as being extremely shy and pivate. So much to the point where some of his actor co-stars say that they didn't really get to know him on set because he was so quiet most of the time. He also has no social media.

Looking at his chart (born September 2, 1964 at 5:41am in Beirut, LB) he is a Virgo Rising with his ascendant ruler retrograde Mercury exalted in the 12th house conjunct his Virgo Sun. He also has his Cancer Moon making a trine aspect to Neptune and Chiron.

Shy people are so amazing to me. Such a breath of fresh air in a world full of non-stop attention seeking/addiction to receiving validation from complete strangers on the internet.

Spent the first 20 years being silent, within, and quiet as a monk. Moving a lot as a child didn't help.

Probably correlated to things like chart ruler the Sun in Capricorn square Libra Pluto in the 3rd. Libra Moon, ruling the 12th, widely conjunct ruler of Sun and Mercury Sign (Cap), Saturn, in Virgo. Scorpio IC, Pisces South Node. Would say 8th House co-ruler in the 1st, but since that co-ruler is Jupiter--probably not as much of a correlator. The modern ruler of the 8th, Neptune, is parallel and semi-sextile the chart ruler which is the Sun.

I'm still introverted and somewhat quiet (and tend to prefer to listen), but I'll talk to pretty much anyone. I also somewhat regularly go to karaoke by myself, and now that I'm used to it, I don't mind singing in front of others (unless I go a long time without doing it, then I might re-feel some nervousness briefly for the first song). Very different than when I was a child. Sometimes I let the Leo Asc take the reigns for a bit.

(There were glimpses of this even in childhood, for example, I had to read out a history report in a Highschool history class, and the guy I had wrote about was a Scot in the English army [during the American revolution time frame] and I decided to do the full on Scottish accent and got really into it. Wasn't like me at at all, and the students and teacher seemed pretty blown away--here is this kid who almost never talks. The teacher came up to me later and asked if I had thought about becoming an actor. Said, not really).

We moved a lot, too. That played a part in it, for both me and my sister.

For my sister, it isn't a lack of need of validation - she's a people-pleaser, when it comes to people who aren't immediate family. It's real anxiety. She diagnosed herself with selective mutism, when she was younger.

For me, social media is a way to connect with friends and family. All of mine is private.

I have Pluto Scorpio house 6 square Aquarius MC house 10 I am always right in the middle of I and E when I take the Meyer Brigg's test. In high school I scored I for introvert. But in my early 20's I scored E for extravert. In my late 20's I scored I for introvert again.

I'm a deeply introverted person and have always been so since I was a child. For example, I never had playmates and I loved to play on my own all the time. Apart from my siblings and parents, I didn't care much for people and that remains true until today. I'm 28 btw.

I have a night chart. All my planets (inner and outer) are below the horizon.

I have a Virgo Rising. A Stellium in Sagittarius in 3rd House.

Mars in 4th House, Sun and Mars conjuncting IC exact.

So I don't think it's necessarily a 12th House/Pisces thing. Both my siblings have prominent Pisces placements but are both very social and outgoing people. Nothing like me.

Makes sense. Moving a lot for introvert children REALLY sucks. But it does force one to adapt more.

I used to think so, but it left me overly dependent on my family, because they were all that I had. They still are. I hated moving so much, and wanted to stay where I had friends. In England, it also meant that I could get around by myself, without a car.

Harper Lee, author of To Kill A Mockingbird, was notoriously reclusive and refused to do any interviews or engage with paparazzi and the media. She was born on April 28th, 1926.

Harper has her 12 degree Libra Ascendant receiving a 0 degree square from Pluto in Cancer.Pluto also is conjunct her MC by 1 degree.

She has a 2nd house Scorpio Moon (the Moon rules her Midheaven/public life) which is receiving a square from Neptune in Leo and is conjunct her Saturn in Scorpio by 4 degrees. So it creates an emotionally "restrictive" personality drawn to obscurity (square from Neptune).

This level of introversion is most reliably indicated by close conjunctions (sometimes even parallels) by Saturn to Moon, especially if they are in a (-) earth/water sign and even more if below the horizon.

Kannon, my oldest son has moon conjunct saturn in virgo with a stellium in Pisces and he is not shy. Even with having Asperger's, he's always been a little social butterfly. My youngest has an exact merc/sun cazimi in scorpio 11th house and is painfully shy. He also has his moon in aquarius, I thought having those placements their personalities would be switched around but nope, one is very shy, the other will literally speak to anyone.
