My Moon and Venus are conjunct the SN in Gemini, square Mars in Pisces, trine Pluto, sextile Jupiter. Mercury is conjunct Ceres, Chiron, and Sun in Aries. Scorpio ascendant, conjunct Uranus. Saturn square Jupiter and Pluto. Mars trine Uranus/ascendant. IP: Logged |

i'm a virgo sun, plenty of famous virgo addicts or people with strong virgo in their chart (kurt cobain was a virgo ascendant, river phoenix and amy winehouse were virgo suns) self medicating can be a very virgo thing

I agree, my moon is at 29 libra and I can definitely see where libra comes swinging in, but scorpio is always right there waiting for it to plunge in. My Merc is also at 28 Aries so even though it's very much an Aries mercury, I still feel the taurus pull.

Hi Dons, yep, I have noticed similar in both self and a number of others. Cayce's guidance indicated that people with strong cusping in their charts tended to be a better judge of character than the average because they really had to figure themselves out with all their complexity and competing urges and tendencies. Obviously this will apply to some Sign cusping areas more than to others. Libra-Scorpio is particularly tuned into/focused on others, and personify the "interpersonal" nature of that quadrant of the Zodiac. IP: Logged |

I'd also like to add that retrogrades can help someone be more in tune with their inner self and that could lead to better life choices. I have 6 in my chart and even with a stellium in the 12th (which can be prone to addiction) I think all of that energy being turned inward definitely helped me stay away from anything that would take me away from myself ie drugs or alcohol. I agree on the retrogrades probably being an important factor. I don't have as many as you guys. I've got four instead of six. I've got a 12th house stellium, though, of Sun-Venus-Mercury-Mars, so that combined with the four retrogrades makes me very self-contained.I've got a Neptune fire singleton in the 5th house, and Neptune in 5th can often show up as liking recreational drug or alcohol use. I'm not sure why it's not the case for me. I think the tight Pluto in my chart just makes me too much of a control freak to be willing to risk losing control of myself.

Yeah I have mars~Pluto retrograde and sun venus and mercury in the 12th. My moon is exactly conjunct Pluto so basically a whole lot of focus on my inner self.
Another thing, my nn is exactly on my ascendant so that's just an extra umph of focus on the self and deterring me away from anything that would prevent that. I don't believe for a second that any drug will bring someone closer to their self like some claim. If anything I think it only clouds your judgment of your true self. IP: Logged |

In a agreement with several posters on mercury. I don't want anything that will cause me to lose control of my senses/surroundings. I have mercury conjunct sun and square moon/jupiter/neptune/uranus. I hate the taste of alcohol, haven't tried illegal drugs nor want to. IP: Logged |
